@@AutoTrader I know where the market is going that car will not have any value. But I used to rent it so I already made 2X out of it. I just want to see how good 2.5 liter engines are, and how far they can last.
I also drive a 2010 Camry at 120k km (75k miles), the condition is still excellent, but plan to buy a new sedan this year. It is very annoying for the local twice-a-year mandatory vehicle inspection for over 10 years of cars in Taiwan.
I just put my deposit down for my 2025 Camry XSE AWD fully loaded with the two tone roof wind chill Pearl white, with black interior. I’m super stoked! 360 degree camera, pano roof, heated and ventilated seats, jbl premium audio. The only one I’ve been able to find in the nation with every option and color I wanted. Thoughts should I buy? Ya or nay? Why or why not? I’m genuinely interested in people’s options. I think it will be a fantastic long term car.
I'd get an XLE with optional premium package for memory seats and mirrors. My wife and I use our cars interchangeably and we are of very different sizes. Adjusting each mirror and slow power seat gets old real quick. I wish LE could be specced with memory seats/mirrors or and heated seats without any other extras like pano roof or hud or larger wheels
Apparently, on their website you can’t get heat package without the convenience package. I even went to the dealer and made a couple calls and couldn’t find one that didn’t have both. I was looking for an SE with multi media package and cold weather package and that is it.
Was bored, so I hopped to the airport and rented a new LE 2025 Camry, yesterday. I have a hybrid Accord, already! On a 250 miles roundtrip, mostly highway, I got 55 mpg averaging a speed of 65 miles per hour. The next day I got 51 mpg, on a 389 mile roundtrip drive, with a cruise control speed of 71to73 miles an hour. So the advertised mileage is definitely good. Advantage Camry-It has a slightly smoother powertrain, when transitioning from ICE to its EV mode. The controls are definitely (except for the infotainment system) intuitive when you hop into it. If I had to pick a brand new car though, it would still be the Accord. Function wise both cars are equal. But, the Accord feels sportier in its engagement, by handling curves and turns with more accuracy. It feels a little bit smaller to, closer to the perception of a regular mid-size, versus the Camry's larger feel. Plus the steering on the Accord is a little bit heavier. If you are going for price though, the Camry base vehicle is at $3000 less than the Accord Sport, which is their lowest level hybrid vehicle. Plus the Camry was giving me about 5 miles more per gallon, than the new Accords that I have rented. Can't go wrong with either car for excellent mileage.
I really liked this vehicle until the front right wheel bearing failed at only 4,000 miles. It’s very disappointing that I paid this much for a new 2025 vehicle and then to have this happen. I hope I don’t deal with this for the life of the vehicle. My 2006 Honda Accord bearings are still going strong.
Camry has always been one of the most if not the most reliable car in the history of auto making. Ever since the Model T came out, Toyota Camry has been the best selling vehicle in the United States year after year and its not even close. Even with the rises of SUVs and the sedan becoming more irrelevant, the Toyota camry still out sell everyone. The problem with the Camry for many years is the lack of styling and the lack of features for some customers. With the 2025 Camry, not only does it make it more attracted looking, it has all the features that some luxury cars even have. And not only that with the hybrid system it can give you the mpg many customer want. Customers like to use SUV for long road trips but maybe now they can choose this camry instead. And from the reviews I see, it also drives really well and dare I say a little fun. I wouldnt be shocked if this generation Camry will be the best selling generation of camry ever. The only thing that will stop it is because of the price markups that dealership will try to do to customers
Price markups over MSRP at Toyota dealerships do NOT happen on the COSTCO or Sam's Club authorized dealers. In the last two months, I requested an OTD price on an elusive RAV4 XLE Premium's at one of these dealers who reduced the price by over $3,600! Interesting that no Georgia dealers are in the COSTCO program, so I have been contacting the three authorized dealers in Florida for pricing info. Plus, always look for the limited lifetime warranty on the drivelines. Who knows how long these Atkinson cycle engines on the 2025's will last? Anyone remember how many engines were recalled on the new twin turbocharged V-6 Tundra's? 100,000 were recalled and engines replaced due to a quality control escape during manufacture of the engines = Not the same Toyota that designed and built the legendary 5.7L V8's that have made it to 1 million miles without a rebuild!
Yeah, considering it is a hybrid, I feel the SE/XLE could have had 17"s, and the XSE with 18"s. Seems odd to build in the costs of a hybrid powertrain, and then slap on big wheels to reduce the MPG.
Softex is a fancy word for vinyl. I have the Toyota Venza and longevity of the sewts will be questionable with the temperature swimgs here in Northern California. 105+ then winters 30° make me wonder if it'll crack from the heat and become brittle over five years.
That's a great question, and I suspect there will be a bit more cabin noise but unless the seals go bad it shouldn't be too bad. And the light you can let in is always a nice touch.
