The 'Travelogue' album was awesome. Light years ahead... music today is a de-generation.... I'm a Y.M.O fan but this was still amazing music. Still love it today x
@@ravimaha I met them when they were in concert in London in 2008. Got photos, autographs etc. I made a ymo shirt like in there early concerts from 70s/80s and some Japanese people took my photo. So far ahead of its time this song. Yet this has always happened. People feel like they truly are being boiled due to external pressures that they cannot control. All we can control is ourselves. Keep civil, keep the faith. Ultimately believe in human nature. That it will rectify itself for the greater good for us all.
I’d never correct someone’s interpretation of a song as music has a unique and powerful meaning to everyone, but apparently this song was written about silk production in which silk worm cocoons are boiled with the silk worm still inside which has been criticised by many as cruel
@@meesalikeu but then even if the silk worm meaning is true, yours could still be true as well, like using the silk worms as an allegory for the feeling of being boiled by pressure
I suspect you may well be right about that. Certainly surprised me when I finally got around to looking up what "sericulture" was ... and then the song made sense. Buddha would not approve.

Ich muß wirklich sagen das war der beste Song der 80er . Einfach genial
tja der ist aber von 78
One of my favorite songs in the discotheque in the 80th … and I still love it 😍
Some songs are ahead of their time…THIS IS ONE!
Totally agree!
1909% Agree
Definitely ahead of its time! Visage borrowed the chord progression from Being Boiled on Fade To Grey
That is exactly what David Bowie said when he first heard the song, presumably in '78 👍
1978... a Masterpiece
Best intro ever, played my stereo into the cosmos with this song!!!!
First Song of the day while having my coffee.. Absolutely brilliant 🌻
Me too! 💥
Die Song ist von 1978 und immernoch der absolute Hammer.
I've always loved this track and it was wonderful to see it merged (succesfully) with early sci-fi. Big thank you to whoever was responsible for that.
Must have influenced Visage
Hi me like this song is skelmersdale
saw the HL yesterday in concert... didn't perform this one aaaaaahrrrrrgggg
Holy shit! This is the best use of older sci-footage I've ever seen!
Moscow Kassiopeia. Cool Movie.
I'm hearing Fade to Grey a little in the intro...
Somebody should tell them : Don´t drink bongwater ! Timeless masterpiece !
Killer pairing, this song with this footage. In my favorites list!
TBH i didn't have high hopes for this, but i was completely wrong to think that. This is brilliant! The video fits the music perfectly. Well done!!!
As if the music and visuals were made for each other!
timeless song
this was the start song of international hitparade on german radio.
Who remembers?
This one was before they split into The Human League and Heaven 17. Another classic is Empire State Human.
das erste mal in der Disco und dann diese Musik mit laserschow das hat mich vor 40 Jahren umgehauen

Simply just brilliant! Love it
Bovril is still Bovril, whether it’s served in a mug or a three spouted teapot. You either like it or you don’t.
The incredibly camp vintage Russian sci-fi film goes with it so well! Even the funky walk the aliens do? Check out the Lionel Blairs!
A master piece
I love this❤
That was brilliant... 70's sci-fi and music matched.
what a such great song!! It creates an amazing atmosphere.
great song great vid
Really progressive Kombination of Video and sound! Thanks a lot!
Does anyone what film these clips are from ?, it looks like something i'd enjoy watching .

This should of been the official promo video just Brilliant. I lay money on it that Mr Oakey would approve!! Lol.
Best song ever 🎉👍🥰 old school rock n roll with funny lyrics and great musicians ❤👍
Human League truly were UK's answer to Kraftwerk.
They were indeed 👍🎶
That they were.
Indeed, both bands lightyears ahead of the time.
Had this ep back in early 80’s. Awesome era. 🤜🤛
This is an amazing song, beautifully unique. But this video looks like a 'look and read' episode.
Milestone!
My all time greatest hit ever !! When i listened to the sound of this,i get sooooo wacked !! Totally off the world !!
I feel like we're Being Boiled right now !
it has similar progression to fade to Grey by Visage.
Damn best song ever made
Ооо! Так это наш Советский фильм "Отроки во вселенной"
The most iconic music they ever made
Musique fin de soirée a la Chapelle (Liège) Que de souvenirs , j'adoooooore toujours autant

Interesting to hear the original version of this song. A difficult listen after being used to the KMFDM remake. :D

It's _'Teens in the Universe',_ 1974 - the same year as Kraftwerk's Autobahn was released.
Who knew a song about silkworms would be this cool?
Great song, the best from their pre-"Dare" era.
is this the first electro song?
Definitely one of the first.
I can't think of a song before it
True. Groups like White Noise and Throbbing Gristle preceded them but didn't really sound like this.

Loving this
Superb, especially the early cameo by Billy Corgan.
I thought it was Michael Stipe😂
Sounds like a Fade to Grey mush up
This was three years before Fade To Grey... However, the chord progression on Fade To Grey is the same as on this song
This is full of symbolism
Sounds a little bit like " fade to grey " innit ?????
Well this was 2 years before that.
@@ajs41 Yeah i knew it ...
That was done in78/79 f.t.g.sounds like this
The chord progression of Fade To Grey is virtually identical to Being Boiled...
Correct. This was 1978, and "Fade to Grey" was 1980.
there will never.. be...another protest song about silk worm farming as good as this one..😂

They looked so young
what do me a little it sounds alot like fade to grey
Because Visage ripped it off (in the nicest possible way)
Visage clearly lifted the chord progression from Being Boiled... In those days, however, music sampling and interpolation laws were much more relaxed

Great!
