Guys, the Firestick 4k Max is currently on sale for $39 (amzn.to/4e7ioB9). Would you purchase it at a budget price even if the Onn is a better device?
I'll stick with my Roku Ultra. It's better than both these devices.
@@TheBman3rd hahahahaha,no it isn't, i doubt your roku can touch my cough cough friend's walmart onntv pro with tivimate and a crapload of free hacked eye pea tee vee playlists he has on it
Still would take the Onn over the Firestick just due to OS alone
If Amazon does indeed restrict sideloading apps, then the Onn automatically wins.
Amazon is not going to change the operating system on the older fire sticks Amazon ain’t stupid mark my words everything is just rumors
If that happens I don't know if I want to spend $50 for two more TVs but I could see myself instead buying the $20 version of ONN for the other TVs.
I think it's winning without that lol
I have both devices and I prefer the onn tv box to the firestick
Thanks for the demo and info. Very informative. Have a great day
Could you tell us how fast do these streaming devices open apps and play content? How fast do the restart and boot up. Show up some real world testing and cut out the benchmark nonsense.
I have both and I like both, but if I had to choose only one it would be the Onn. Where the firestick shines is with Alexa. I expected google to be better, but is a far worse search engine, And I have 800 mbs service and get typically wireless 450 mbs with onn and 360 mbs with Firestick. I have an eero wifi 6 router. I think the Onn should be more compared to The latest Fire TV Cube. Which I had, and returned for USB 2.0 And 10/100 ethernet. I am looking forward to what Amazon will come out with to compete!
yeah i get the comparison to the FTV Cube because of the built in voice assistant, but the cube is a better device overall.
Very good review. I chose Onn 4K Pro when I learned how to transfer Tennis Channel to it. But I prefer the Fire TV remote, because the Play, Rewind, and Fast Forward buttons work better in some apps.
Great video explanation thanks. We would like to see a follow up with some side loaded apps, and your current thoughts and opinions.
For sure
You know what.. this was a fantastic video. Earned a sub! Onn for me
I went ahead and just got the ONN TV Box and skipped The upgrade, for now, of my Fire TV sticks. I bought a couple years ago Fire TV 4K Sticks and never upgraded to the 4K Max. Granted though only bought one box and I have three TVs carrying Roku. To sideload I had to buy the Firesticks. So therefore two other TVs are going to have the Fire TV sticks.
Great comparison man. ONN all day. 👍🏾👊🏾✊🏾🙂💯
I appreciate that bro!!
I want to buy the new Onn 4K pro so bad but im waiting till my Walmart has the newer version with the backlit remote. I checked today and they were all the older models. Currently a fire stick 4K max user and it’s so buggy and I’m getting tired of Amazons ads auto playing every time. Google TV is cleaner imo.
I'm waiting for the same thing!
Lisent to this cheap ass guys lmao this is the new version the control has nothing to do with the device smh broke ass fools 😂😂😂
I was impatient and got the one not lit. Wondering if later on the remote will be available by itself for us early buyers lol.
What? I order online from Walmart app and got the backlit. Didn't know it even a thing. Lol
How do you know?
Any comparison to appletv?
Do the ONN TV offer more streaming services/options/movies/etc.? Someone on social media stated it cost $125 and had more to offer than the Firestick. Do you have to pay a fee for ONN? Thx
I bought it last month. It is stuttering when using a VPN. I use Kodi and Stremio. Had to go back to Firestick 4k. I like the interface but can't watch Kodi and Stremio.
Just wish the onn 4k pro had a close app when you double click the home button like the shield has
I only use onn boxes an this new one is really good 4kpro ,works nice smoothly,.
Yes
I need sideloading for webOs, Amazon is restricting that soon 💩🗑️
Question? when you go to purches one of these Onn 4K PRO Streaming Device . Is thier any way by looking at the box to know weather or not hte product has the remote inside has the Backlite or Just a stadard remote. Thank you
I just got two from Walmart and neither box were sealed so you can just open them up at the store to see which remote it has. Both of mine had the new remote.
I use the stick and chromecast stick for travel.
I got you.. portability is important to you. I normally take the Chromecast on the go with me as well.
Really belive u should have done this with the newer 3rd gen cube..specs obviously wont be the same
I love the speaker. Although I wish that you can say Hey Google to the speaker itself all the time.
Yea, same here
❤❤❤❤ yes I do
Definitely ONN for the win. Can you research for us why they are not available in Canada?
Do you guys have walmart up there? I'm sure it'll be on Amazon soon, but that my be a little wait.
@@Triple_M yes of course we have Walmart haha. That's why I'm not sure why they aren't selling them there. Prices are jacked to buy them on amazon.
Hey MMM..I believe most viewers know that the shield is a better box than the onn box..just wanted to see the difference in performance between the two..😁😁😁👍👍👍
Another channel compared both and the result was that the Nvidia Shield was a little bit faster and could do a bit better. But the new Onn 4K Box Pro worked pretty good anyways.
gotcha!!
As an Amazon customer, I never liked fire os. Too restrictive and irritating to use. Even the Prime video interface is inferior to Netflix.
Onn all the way!
the onn best tho but firestick a killer lol
Onn to me is a winner, fire stick i got 6 many model also have cube 2 and 3 and there all going to be replace with time due to there new way of hacking my devices.
12:29. Your graphics are backward? Fire stick on top, but the stats on the left are on bottom? Confusing!
The wifi test is made with 2 different apk , firestick is very good on wifi , has a better procesor and gpu , receive updates so your test is a little bit wrong.
Yeah, the onn didn't have the analiti app. I'll see if I can find the same app and do the wifi test over again.
❤❤❤❤ I prefer the firestick
It's a solid device.. Do you sideload apps?
i might need wait price drop to buy onn 4k pro..bcs the reseller sell this item at 80 dollar..asian country dont have wallmart store🗿
Damn. You can order it online and have it shipped
No more 3 party applications for fire stick...this is why you haven't been streaming new movies....onn hands down...took 1 hour to set up and get downloader and other apps but worth it😂😂😂
well, for newcomers i can tell you that amazon has already begun restricting some 3rd party apps from the firesticks a few months ago even before they release their new vega os... so far of the apps that i used were adb shell (this is used to unlock certain functions like enabling and splitting a USB drive's storage on older firesticks)...you don't need to for the newer 4k max.... also, apps that help clean out the cache and disable some amazon functions that operate in the background..which take up a lot of ram and slows down your device... that was the last draw for me and went and bought the onn pro device...
I've had it for a couple of weeks now and I'm liking it so far except for a couple of minor gripes.... 1 is that there is no off button for the device... if you turn off the tv. the device remains on as far as i can tell... it doesn't go to sleep it just goes into showing a screensaver of random artsy pictures. (you can choose your own pictures if you set up your google photos for it)....
the other slight problem is that since i have an android phone which is usually within reach from me...asking anything on the onn device would activate the google assistant on my phone. and because google doesn't give you the option to change the call name for each device ( like amazon) then you have to disable google assistant on the streaming device or my phone... i chose the device...at least the handsfree option. i can still use it with the mic on the remote....now my firestick will live in my kitchen drawer until i decide to either trade it back to amazon for store credit or give it as a gift to someone.
I picked up the ONN, with the intent to try it out and compare it with my firestick. I'll preface my observations by disclosing that I'm hard of hearing, so my priorities for what I need in a streamer are heavily centered around good audio quality, while my device is paired with bluetooth headphones. In comparison to my older 4k firestick, which has a feature to enhance voice audio and an additional volume leveler, which attempts to make all app volumes consistent, I find that the firestick has much clearer, louder and fuller audio quality, over bluetooth than does the ONN. Currently, both devices are running on the same television and I noticed a huge difference in the audio quality, when running the Paramount Plus app, it's not as clear, and nowhere as loud on the ONN, versus the same app on the firestick. I can set my bluetooth to less than 50% volume and it produces better sound than the ONN, running the same media, with the very same headset turned up to 80% volume capacity. I'm finding this is the case, across multiple first party apps, the fire has superior audio quality over bluetooth. Is anyone aware of a similar setting with Google TV to enhance audio/voice clarify, as well as a setting that allows for consistent volumes within apps? In my experience, Hulu and the stand alone shudder app are terribly inconsistent, as far as volume level, within content. I bought the ONN because of greater flexibility for app side loading, only to discover that I don't value the ability nearly as much as I do app quality and hardware/software performance. Aside from this, I largely choose to not sideload on my Fire devices, because it's becoming less and less necessary in the current streaming market. I'm on the fence about returning the device, in favor of simply upgrading my current firestick, unless I can find a way to improve audio quality over bluetooth. Thanks in advance for any and all insights.
Would You have to worry bout your info bein leaked
Its a certified google tv device, so not greater risk than any other reputable streaming device in my opinion.
@@Triple_M , oh ok thank you for the feedback I appreciate it
OK! I know you are comparing "boxes" at a MUCH lower price point but the FireCube 3rd gen BLOWS both of these devices out of the water by FAR!. Having owned Firesticks and went through SEVERAL of them after shitting out just after their "warranty" period I gave UP on them! You get what you PAY for as Firesticks are CHEAP and have had a very LOW track record for lasting. I've had My FireCube for almost a year now and already would have outlasted TWO firesticks by now not to mention the TIME to setup each device and loading apps from scratch with each "new" firestick. Just MY user experience and would NEVER buy for another Firestick again.
You're not being honest OR You're not aware. The Firesticks go on sale routinely. The 4K Max was literally just on said in May for $39.99. They just don't wait for Black Friday.
When you compare prices its at the regular price not when is on special and the other one is at the regular price.
@@japcfournier that's not my point. He said something inaccurate. And I don't know if it's because he's unaware or If it's bias. But the Firesticks don't just go on sale for Black Friday or Christmas. In fact, the 4K Max is available for $39.99 RIGHT NOW.
I don't know what your deal is, but you need to clean the wax out of your ears.
Starting at around the '6:15' mark he literally said that you can get the reduced price "during a sale, during Black Friday, Amazon Prime Day ... ". He never said anything about the latter two times being the ONLY times!!
If you were a man, you would amend your comment and apologize to the gentleman. He was correct and you are WRONG!
This is what makes social media a problem. It gives too many people free rein to be criticizing a-holes, because they can hide behind their anonymity and not be publicly embarrassed
I don't know what your deal is, but you need to clean the wax out of your ears.
Starting at around the '6:15' mark he stated EXACTLY WHAT YOU CLAIMED HE DID NOT!
You need to grow up and stop going onto social media to act like a critical a-hole. Just because you can climb up on a soapbox and be a critical jerk, hiding behind your anonymity, DOESN'T MEAN YOU SHOULD!
If you were any kind of man, you would amend your comment and apologize. It will feel better than remaining a putz.
