I like how you've mentioned how Goku and Vegeta are opposites. Vegeta would be ruthless to everyone while Goku would spare their lives. However, Goku wasn't always like that. When he was a kid he kill anyone he fights (or at least attempted to kill). He would change after he killed Demon King Piccolo and trained with Kami. I believe was taught Goku to understand the value of life while training. Vegeta needs to get rid of most of his ego. They are many times when his ego gets in the way of his fights. Android 18 is an example of it. And now it looks like Cell is another. Can't wait for the next episode. It feels nostalgic watching this again.
Im not sure that's the case. Goku started sparing people because he matured and also because of necessity. The first true opponent he fought was king piccolo and he might've spared him in the end but he didn't have a choice so we wont know. Then he grew up and learned that his power has a ways to go. So he wanted to keep fighting the best. He let piccolo go because he wanted to fight him again+wanted to spare kami. Then later on he learned that enemies can become powerful allies like piccolo if allowed the chance. So he let vegeta go, even though he actually wanted to fight him again. He didn't let frieza go because he was sorry about him. He simply wanted him to live in shame and trauma and yes, also to maybe fight him again if the need arose. When goku fought frieza, to his knowledge, nobody stronger existed in the universe. So who else was he going to fight? Goku never gave a thought to sparing cell or buu or the babidi slaves.

I think he made the right choice too. 18 was kidnapped as a child and controlled by Dr Gero. Now he's holding the same kind of remote Gero used to control her, and he refuses to use it on her. It wouldn't be right.

Honestly, I don't blame Krillin NEARLY as much as I blame Vegeta. The Androids in this time line are innocent, they haven't done anything except kill Dr. Gero (which the Z Fighters wanted to do anyway) and go after Goku (who they never even found). Vegeta had ample opportunity to kill Cell, the real threat, and refused even when everyone told him it was a bad move.
Yeah, they didn't even kill random people for fun. They were so chill all the time.

And the 2nd android didnt jump in unless the z fighters did. always did 1 on 1s, when they could've made it 2v1 and killed them easily. WORST thing they've done was ignore laws/steal cars, clothes and damage police vehicles when being arrested. which tbh is crazy now that im thinking abt it

Also, the Androids didn’t detect Krillin because Krillin has the best control over both masking and sensing ki. He may not be the strongest but his sensory abilities are outstanding. Krillin was hiding his power level in this circumstance.

One other thing is 17 and 18 can't sense power levels. All they have is data that Gero gave them which is mostly calculations of how strong he thought they'd be, which were wrong because they trained. This is why 16 having sensors to read powerl levels is emphasized as much as it is. He's the only one who can.

I have to say, I can't entirely blame Krillin. And its not because 18 is hot or anything. Its that she's somewhat innocent. The thing is Android 18 (who is indeed human) isn't really evil in this timeline. The worst she's done is shoplifting and stealing a van. Sure, she plotted to kill Goku along with 16 and 17, but never carried that out and has long abandoned that goal. Krillin pushing the button would mean murdering a relatively innocent women.
The fault is mainly with Vegeta for not killing Cell.
Only because Cell got in the other Androids way. If Cell wasn't in the picture, they would've attempted to kill Goku for sure

@@Mbrace818 18 was absolutely doing evil stuff like robbery (though I don't know if that's filler), and she didn't change her mind on the murder Goku part out of the goodness in her heart at first, she was more than willing to kill anyone who got in the way of that and she stopped at first because then she was too busy running for her own life. Krillin risked dooming the entire world for a lady that up to just this very day was out to kill his best friend. I like Krillin as a character and think he deserves more respect but here he was a big selfish bastard, messed up even harder than Vegeta

The reason why she changed her mind on killing Goku is irrelevant. The point is, it's wrong to kill someone who _use to be_ planning a murder, but no longer is. Period.

Actually no. She was NOT willing to kill anyone else even if they got in her way. She spared Vegeta. Both her and 17 spared all the Z-Fighters who were completely at their mercy, and even recommended Krillin give them senzu beans. They literally chose NOT to kill a bunch of people who got in their way.
Vegeta blatantly picked a fight with them and threaten to kill them, and they STILL spared him.
# 001 Here's my take on this. I do understand the reasoning behind Krillin destroying the remote. After all, when you've hung around with your Saiyan best friend, who has the morality of a sack of dumb, cute, and cuddly puppies, as long as Krillin has. It's safe to say that some of Goku's innocent (albeit naive) nature would rub off on Krillin's judgement. The fact Krillin was crushing on 18 made his decision all the more apparent. Perhaps if the roles were reverse and 18 was absorbed with 17 alive and well, pushing the button may have been a bit of an easier decision.
It's clear that Krillin was struggling terribly between doing what he feels is right and actually doing the right thing. Unfortunately, in the grand scheme, he really chose poorly on this since it didn't even matter. Cell still absorbed 18 thus killing her. Really appreciate the assist Vegeta.
At least if Krillin followed through with the remote, 18 would've blew up, Cell wouldn't get his perfect form, and both he and even Vegeta would be uber pissed. Even to the point where even Vegeta would try to murder Krillin for "robbing him of his challenge". But fortunately, Trunks would of course step in to actually squash everything.
But then another thought occurred with the knowledge I have about the entire saga. And that is that Krillin pushing the button would also turn out bad for everyone as well. Why is that you ask? Well if you all recall, Gohan SS2 after he punched Cell so hard, he regurgitated 18 causing him to revert to his 2nd form. To which then Cell did a desperate move and turned himself into a world-ending "suicide" bomb.
And the only person that can actually save everyone is currently in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. So yeah, Cell blows up, everyone dies, and Goku and Gohan would've been stuck in the Time Chamber. Not to mention a number of events would also take a different course.

18 has done nothing wrong at this point, they weren't even willing to find and kill Gero before he created and released the androids because technically he didn't do anything wrong yet and it would be murder. While yes it was the "smart" thing to do in this situation to prevent Cell from achieving his perfect form it was still a moral dilemma for them especially Krillin since he had developed feelings for 18.

Z fighters in this saga just really mess around big time damn. Also i love how Madison is such an expert now in explaining about the power levels, like how they don't sense Krillin because they are busy with Cell and Vegeta's gigantic energies. I think it actually takes more effort and focus to sense power levels.

And i think we should appreciate the fact the father son bonding between goku and gohan which is wholesome which no one talking about
I can’t blame Krillin. He said it before that 18 was a generally innocent person in this timeline and killing her would be murder. I’m pretty sure neither 17 nor 18 actually killed anyone up to this point. They only wanted to kill Goku because of their programming, but they even abandoned their mission and only searched for Goku on 16’s behalf. So essentially, he’d be murdering 18 simply because of the risk of Cell absorbing her which he couldn’t live with. Him having a crunch on her was just the icing on the cake.
17 did crush some bikers against a rock when in the truck, and killed Gero. But 18 didn't. She only blasted patrol cars, but it panned to the cops still being alive. And Vegeta absolutely wrecked a ton of civilians on the street when fighting 18. 18 didn't even kill the Z fighters when they attacked her. She has bloodless hands. 17 on the otherhand does not.
17 crushed them but it was honestly their own fault, they were attacking them and being reckless 17 was just defending himself. We've seen 17 has no interest in killing, he showed this during his fight with picollo when he asked him to just tell him where Goku is and he could leave unharmed, saying he didn't want to kill him.

Yeah this was so well executed with everyone’s conflicting personalities at play. Everyone talks about how amazing Frieza was as a villain, but Cell gets overshadowed even when he’s really just this chaotic force of nature that combines everyone’s negative personality traits. He is a being that just wants to be the strongest thing in the universe and the scariest part is Cell knows exactly what it takes to accomplish it.
Android 18 can't sense power levels and 16 can but he's distracted by the amount vegeta and cell are putting out

In the next episode, When trunks blasts vegita after a speech of him saying he’s seen force’s like cell his whole life and then blasts vegita away and the look on vegita’s face after him thinking that trunks wouldn’t do, really gets me going 🔥🤪

Man the Cell saga was really the best Arc
The cell saga is one of the worst. The Freeza arc was by far the best. It has the best plot. The Cell saga makes no sense because of time travel plotholes.
Future Trunks is the closest thing we have to a voice in this series lol. He doesn't mess around, ever. He gets the job done, no mercy. And will do whatever it takes to protect the earth. Goku and Vegeta take way too many risks for my taste when it comes to favorite characters Trunks is by far #1.

So it makes sense that he wants to eliminate every enemy immediately. In a normal future, he might be more like Goku or Vegeta

@@blackflash9957 Because this is an anime error. In the manga the fight between Trunks and Semi perfect Cell does not even begin, Vegeta intervenes immediately.
Similarly, Trunks never get close to Android 18 as, after being kicked by Vegeta, Cell immediately uses the tayou-ken and absorbs # 18. In fact, there is not even the brief exchange of blows between Kulilin, # 18, # 16 and Cell
Basically in the anime the scene is much more elongated, giving the feeling that Trunks could do a lot more, but in reality canonically he has no fault.

In regards to Vegeta and Krillins fuck up - at least _Krillin_ was acting out of altruism. Besides his crush, he felt awful about essentially murdering what would be an unarmed woman. His pride as a warrior found that cowardly. Vegeta on the other hand, acted out of pride and arrogance. Something he has to learn the hard way.
Madison's predictions for two things Vegeta let Cell reach his perfect form and stop Trunks from prevent it and Krillin doesn't shut down 18
The only person to blame is Vegeta, Krillin had a battle between his mind and his heart. His heart won and I think that is for the better. She isn't exactly evil so he wouldn't be that much better than cell anyway if he went along with the plan. Goku does have the foolish thought that villains can change, that was made clear in the Freiza Saga. I don't know if it's an issue that he doesn't want to kill, it's pretty honorable but if an evil creature is set out to destroy the planet and everyone you care about, you got to stop it. When killing it is only the answer, you got to get your hands dirty.

Also, a good part of Krillin's look and persona was inspired by Charlie Brown. You definitely get a good feel for the "persona" part after this episode.

I always feel like krillin also helped changing the future by having android 18 feel the experience of love as even in future trunks time line android 18 liked a dude which i'm thinking it was krillin as she complained why android 17 killed him. But hey sometimes being a simp works but not to much and well krillin doesn't do to much of a simping matter. But i also think vegeta and krillin messed up hear on their end for letting cell see 18.
I also kind of blame 18 herself. She can hide herself under the water so Cell cannot see or sense her. But oh well.
She was worried about 16 and since his head and circuitry was all exposed I don't think he could go under the water.

I'd say Goku and Vegeta even at this point have some things in common, both of them love a good challenge. One example is, Vegeta letting Cell become Perfect, and Goku letting Frieaza reach 100%. It might not even be only Goku and Vegeta's weaknesses but the weakness of the Saiyan race in general. Much like how humans are selfish by nature, Saiyans are battle hungry by nature.

Goku sees Krillin killed, gets enraged, turns Super Saiyan, goes out to get revenge for him. Even though it's a risky battle in an exploding planet.

Cell isn't part machine...
Here's how it works. In the original Japanese Dr. Gero's creations are referred to as Jinzoningen (Artificial Humans). And, so far, there have been three different kinds introduced in the series: Androids, Cyborgs, and Organic Humanoids. Androids, are completely non-organic beings that are built and programmed from the ground up (such as #8, #16, and #19 etc.). Cyborgs, are beings that started out as humans but had cybernetic modifications made to them (eg. #17 and #18). And lastly, there are completely organic beings that are developed and nurtured in a lab setting such as Cell.
The early 2000s American English dub, as in many cases, kinda created confusion by unnecessarily changing things and calling them all Androids (basically robots).
I remember as a kid when I saw this in the 90s, I was so pissed off about this episode. And I'm still am 😂

Trunks is the best character in Dragon Ball. He is the only one who lived in a world where the evil won. He knows what can happen if Cell wins or any evil. Vegeta would be the same if he could save Vegeta ( the planet 😂😂) in an another era.
There is like 4 different plots going on in this episode,And then we're left with one of the best cliff hangers ever!
I do have to agree Krillin did have one job but if Krillin did destroy Android 18 and Vegeta had found out I think krillin's life would be in danger.
Because Vegeta would have been Furious because he would have felt robbed of a worthy adversary you know how Vegeta is with his pride and thirst for battle.
As for Goku refusing to kill anybody that's just who he is he doesn't fight to kill he fight to test his limits.
Vegeta enjoys stringing along an opponent with his pride and enjoy talking trash while he's doing it.
That's why Piccolo was so angry because he knows that Vegeta should have finished him off a long time ago but Vegeta's just playing and toying around.
Trunks is the only Sayian that doesn't waste time when it comes to his opponents if their evil there's no Second Chances.
If you cause heartache and pain Trunks will destroy you it's because of the hellacious torment he grew up in his future timeline
It made Trunks very wise.
He understands the situation and refuses to live in a time like that again.
Krillin can tell all of his friends: Don't worry, She's 18
While I get Krillin feeling bad about killing 18 when she's shut down and can't fight back (that's pretty cold blooded for him), I doubt he'd be as hesitant if it was 17 in the situation

I'm going to get some hate for this comment, but I don't care. Krillin gets ragged on way to hard for this scene. Yes in hindsight it's stupid that Krillin didn't deactivate 18. But 18 of this timeline is not the evil killing machine she was in the future timeline. It seems like a simple task for someone on the outside looking in, but deactiving 18 and blasting her would be murder. He sees good in her. Too bad her dumb ass wouldn't just leave.
We woudn't even having this discussion if Vegeta had simply did his job. I personally find Vegeta's role in Cell's completion absolutely unforgivable. WHY??? Because Vegeta's motives here are 100% selfish, to feed his own pride and ego. There is absolutely nothing heroic about that. How many times has Vegeta's ego got him beat up, even killed on one occasion. VEGETA HAS NO EXCUSE!!! He never learns his lesson, he keeps giving in to trying to please his ego (Because there is one thing a saiyan keeps, HIS PRIDE!). Cell tricked this idiot into helping him reach completion, and what makes it even worse is that he did it with Vegeta's own tactic.

Goku and Vegeta are much more similar in the sub/Japanese version. Goku isn't nearly as concerned with saving others as he is having fun and challenging the strongest people he can. I like how Super brought back that aspect of Goku more.
As soon as krillin got the responsibility of getting the remote I already knew cell was gonna get 18 I just didn’t know exactly how it’ll play until vegeta was playin a lil too much . Krillin was stupid but I wasn’t too mad at it because love made me do the dumbest thing….. I’m not a simp(gotta add that in there lol) but….. I made some dumb choices.
In a way you gotta admire how things played out. If Krillin destroyed 18, we would never see perfect cell

Vegeta takes majority of the blame here with his action's krillin wasn't responsible enough for the task with his mixed feelings for 18 going on that aside gotta give it to cell he knew the foolish side of vegeta very well.

This will always be in my opinion the most F'd up episode ever. Everyone should of, could of, but didn't stop Cell from his glorious evolution.
The 4th issue besides Vegeta, KRILLIN, and Trunks that's a disappointment is Android 18 herself. Because right then, she had the opportunity to flee the scene before Krillin deactivated her and Cell from absorbing her. I went over my head. Sorry guys! I kinda spoiled it

In my opinion, Krillin saved the Earth otherwise Cell would've exploded himself just like after he spat out a no longer essential Android 18 against SSJ2 Gohan. Agree?? Disagree??

Krillin, Goku and Vegeta are all to blame for Cell becoming perfect. I feel bad for Trunks, he tried so hard to prevent this sh** from happening. And all they did was invite it.

@@jamescadet4450 i just think Goku wanted to see Cell become perfect to have a challenge. He could have done more to prevent it. If you go back to the scene where Goku is entering the time chamber he makes Cell the center of his and Vegeta power struggle. He could have said to Vegeta go finish off Cell then we could finish our battle. Vegeta would have wiped out Cell and then stood in front of the chamber waiting for Goku.
