Watched tons of videos ... 1st time I’ve felt compelled to subscribe to anyone. I have a 21 C8 on order (20 order was cancelled). This video almost singlehandedly convinced me to cancel and get a ZL1 1LE. I could feel his joy driving the Camaro with the 6 speed. I love the raw muscle and sound. I could use my GM employee discount money to go Lingenfelter. Have some time to decide now. Great video!
Give me the C8 hands down. I drive manual, and absolutely love to, but a quick dct is always impressive to see in it's own right. Still waiting for the World beating new Z06. That is going to be the Corvette sweet spot.
Could tell how much more you genuinely liked the ZL1, at the end of the day when you're spending this kind of money on a car, the driving experience comes first over everything else. I'd take that ZL1 myself even though the C8 looks much nicer.

For a day at the track, ZL1. For the garage, I would always take the "company halo car". I owned more camaros than anything else, but in this case... The Vette!
@@livinglife3230 No, I owned the regular ZL1 first and then I sold it and bought the ZL1 1LE. I have a buddy that has the new SS 1LE and it's badass. I notice the HP jump but it doesn't feel like its 195 more HP, so I hear you. If it was just that then I'm not sure it would be worth the premium, but I also get a Multimatic DSSV suspension and better aero front and back. It also breathes in more air up front.

Another great review! As a ZL1 owner, I’ve been waiting for this comparison. I’m assuming the 720hp rating for the ZL1 is estimated at the crank? I’ve got a modified engine on mine and you can only go so far on the stock supercharger.

Those 2 vehicles are ones of my 2 favorites of all times, (Vette and Camaro) Most of my family members patronized chevy cars for the last sixty something years, from '55 Chevy wagon, (Dad's purchased) through 2010s Vettes and Camaros owned by 2 of his grand kids, my nephews Family of. Chevy in every generation. I like the way you describe the flow of air from the Corvette going into the front bumper grill air intake and goes through the reservoir and end on the side intake. These 2 vehicles are fascinating and stunning.

Owned a stock 2018 ZL1 and traded it in for a 2021 C8 and can say this review is spot on. The only point I’d like to make is price. This modded ZL1 is more powerful from a roll but costs more than a well equipped C8. There are C8 dual turbo and supercharger kits available to boost the performance beyond anything this Camaro can deliver and still be less expensive. From my money, I’d take a modded C8 over this modded ZL1. I believe it would be faster at the strip, track, street, cost less and resell for more.
I love Joe, but we are comparing the baddest Camaro package ever with a vanilla C8 as bad as they are. I know he would do a Z06 comparison if they were around at the time, but then again for the money the comparison works. As always great review and entertaining. Love this guy.

I'm so torn. I'm on a wait list for a C8 Corvette and was very excited, but now I'm reconsidering the Camaro ZL1 1LE. The two things holding me back from the Camaro are the fact that I think the C8 looks better, and the other is that I already owned a 5th gen SS. I know the 6th gen ZL1 is a very different monster, but I want to try something new other than the Camaro. Such a hard decision. I definitely care more about performance than anything, but the C8 is better all around.
I Have driven both as well. I dream to one day own a mid engine Corvette. But today I'm enjoying my ZL1 this Guy is correct thier is something about the ZL1 that is still raw and natural that the Corvette has glossed over. Hopefully the new Zo6 takes it back and in a big way.
i own the 2020 ZL1 1LE and my brother owns the Stingray 2019 Corvette; both are beasts. i raced a c8 the other day and dusted him but it’s a beautiful car.
@@RaitisRides the camaro's rear end is nice as heck! Super aggressive looking, the tail lights on the Camaro are pretty good. I don't mind them, it gives the Camaro a more sinister look from the back. But I also liked the original ones (2016-2018) the vette is not bad, But could of been better! Overall these are 2 nice rides from the classic bowtie brand!
It depends on what you want, that ZL1 1LE will destroy a C8 on a track. Absolutely obliterate it. But it's got a lot more power with a much more aggressive suspension setup, I mean it's using race shocks. But the tradeoff is ride quality, the C8 rides better and is a better street car. The C8 Z06 will be more of a track car, and more of a match for the ZL1 1LE.

The ZL1 1LE uses Multimatic spool valve dampers, the kind they use on actual race cars, the aero and downforce is so aggressive it's literally illegal in Europe, it has adjustable front camber plates and an adjustable rear sway bar, and it's on F1 SuperCar 3R tires. And I don't have to show you video, the C8 Z51 did a 7:29 at the nurburgring, the ZL1 1LE did it in 7:16. Go ahead and look that up on your own if you need verification. The ZL1 1LE is specifically built for the track unlike the C8 Stingray, and that plus all the extra power means it will outlap the C8 every time. Maybe the problem is you just don't know anything about the ZL1 1LE. And I own a Corvette, so how much of a Camaro fanboy do you think I could be? Be less fucking stupid, please.
31:31 You sure about that? I own a ZL1 1LE and that massive amount of power combined with the MultiMatic DSSV suspension is very tough to beat. It depends on the specifics of the track, I guess, but it's one of the fastest production cars in the world around the Nürburgring...so I'll believe it when I see it.

Excellent job with this review! I personally had the opportunity to take a Z51 C8 Corvette for a ride before making my purchase of my very own ZL1-1LE. I really like the C8 but until they put more power in it I believe I will continue to enjoy the ZL1-1LE.

I really would love to do what you're doing LOL but what is your favorite car that you have driven? I got 2021 chevy camaro ZL1 1LE....it is a beast on the road...I wanted the new corvette, but I wasn't waiting over a year for build...I just changed the tires on my camaro to Michelin tires that are made for street and track....they give u a better ride, but u still feel it because of the 1LE package.
Yeah I still love it...the only problem I have with it is trying to get it from the wife. She thinks it's her car. Just put a vinyl wrap on it and it's been upgraded with horsepower and added carbon fiber to the outside and inside.
Answer: Yes. Front-engined cars look more masculine than mid-engined ones, IMHO. The Vette used to be distinctive, now it looks like another NSX or McLaren or Ferrari or something.
@Lando Calrissian If you say so. Personally the only thing that makes pickups masculine is because they're mostly drive by men. Men who used to do real work (which was several decades ago, before pickups became luxury-laden commuters). They're horrible to drive IMHO, regardless of how much power you stuff into them.

Dual clutch auto Trans (I live in Los Angeles). That's about all I'd like to have. The rest, I'm perfectly happy with, and then some! That Camaro looks like it's moving!

I love Joe, but we are comparing the baddest Camaro package ever with a vanilla C8 as bad as they are. I know he would do a Z06 comparison if they were around at the time, but then again for the money the comparison works. As always great review and entertaining. Love this guy.

I'm so torn. I'm on a wait list for a C8 Corvette and was very excited, but now I'm reconsidering the Camaro ZL1 1LE. The two things holding me back from the Camaro are the fact that I think the C8 looks better, and the other is that I already owned a 5th gen SS. I know the 6th gen ZL1 is a very different monster, but I want to try something new other than the Camaro. Such a hard decision. I definitely care more about performance than anything, but the C8 is better all around.
Hope you stuck with the C8. It's a completely different beast and way sexier in my opinion.
I wouldn't get the 1LE unless you plan to track it. If you plan to daily, the non-1LE ZL1 is much better.

I dream to one day own a mid engine Corvette.
But today I'm enjoying my ZL1 this Guy is correct thier is something about the ZL1 that is still raw and natural that the Corvette has glossed over. Hopefully the new Zo6 takes it back and in a big way.
i own the 2020 ZL1 1LE and my brother owns the Stingray 2019 Corvette; both are beasts. i raced a c8 the other day and dusted him but it’s a beautiful car.

@@RaitisRides the camaro's rear end is nice as heck! Super aggressive looking, the tail lights on the Camaro are pretty good. I don't mind them, it gives the Camaro a more sinister look from the back. But I also liked the original ones (2016-2018) the vette is not bad, But could of been better! Overall these are 2 nice rides from the classic bowtie brand!

It depends on what you want, that ZL1 1LE will destroy a C8 on a track. Absolutely obliterate it. But it's got a lot more power with a much more aggressive suspension setup, I mean it's using race shocks. But the tradeoff is ride quality, the C8 rides better and is a better street car. The C8 Z06 will be more of a track car, and more of a match for the ZL1 1LE.

The ZL1 1LE uses Multimatic spool valve dampers, the kind they use on actual race cars, the aero and downforce is so aggressive it's literally illegal in Europe, it has adjustable front camber plates and an adjustable rear sway bar, and it's on F1 SuperCar 3R tires. And I don't have to show you video, the C8 Z51 did a 7:29 at the nurburgring, the ZL1 1LE did it in 7:16. Go ahead and look that up on your own if you need verification.
The ZL1 1LE is specifically built for the track unlike the C8 Stingray, and that plus all the extra power means it will outlap the C8 every time. Maybe the problem is you just don't know anything about the ZL1 1LE. And I own a Corvette, so how much of a Camaro fanboy do you think I could be? Be less fucking stupid, please.
31:31 You sure about that? I own a ZL1 1LE and that massive amount of power combined with the MultiMatic DSSV suspension is very tough to beat. It depends on the specifics of the track, I guess, but it's one of the fastest production cars in the world around the Nürburgring...so I'll believe it when I see it.

Excellent job with this review! I personally had the opportunity to take a Z51 C8 Corvette for a ride before making my purchase of my very own ZL1-1LE. I really like the C8 but until they put more power in it I believe I will continue to enjoy the ZL1-1LE.

I really would love to do what you're doing LOL but what is your favorite car that you have driven? I'd love to see you drive the Camaro Resurrection by Hennessy. 1200 horsepower and 0-60 in 2.1 secs. It did a quarter mile in 9.59 at 149 mph!!! I'd love to see you drive that!!

I got 2021 chevy camaro ZL1 1LE....it is a beast on the road...I wanted the new corvette, but I wasn't waiting over a year for build...I just changed the tires on my camaro to Michelin tires that are made for street and track....they give u a better ride, but u still feel it because of the 1LE package.

Yeah I still love it...the only problem I have with it is trying to get it from the wife. She thinks it's her car. Just put a vinyl wrap on it and it's been upgraded with horsepower and added carbon fiber to the outside and inside.
Answer: Yes. Front-engined cars look more masculine than mid-engined ones, IMHO. The Vette used to be distinctive, now it looks like another NSX or McLaren or Ferrari or something.

@Lando Calrissian If you say so. Personally the only thing that makes pickups masculine is because they're mostly drive by men. Men who used to do real work (which was several decades ago, before pickups became luxury-laden commuters). They're horrible to drive IMHO, regardless of how much power you stuff into them.

Personally, there's no way I'd buy this without the front end lift. I have a 2019 Grand Sport. I'd love that front end lift. I hear the C8 is quieter inside. Dual clutch auto Trans (I live in Los Angeles). That's about all I'd like to have. The rest, I'm perfectly happy with, and then some! That Camaro looks like it's moving!
