    One of the rare instances where a team goes undefeated at home during their entire playoff run and still doesn't win an nba championship round let alone get to the finals. This Pacers squad definitely took on the personality of their coach Larry Bird where they were scrappy and tough as they were good, especially in the clutch. Phil, MJ, Pip, and co. needed every bit of their experience and championship pedigree to get out of that series. Only the second time MJ led Bulls went to a full seven games. Great upload!

    These were the good days, especially for us sports fans in Indy. We had this Pacer team led by Legend Larry as our head coach. And we had just drafted a QB named Peyton Manning, that would change my city forever. Thank you for these uploads man.

    MJ wasn’t complaining about the trip-up. He knew it’s his own mistake and he took full responsibility for it like a man but gave the determined speech in the post-match interview that the Bulls will win Game 7 back at home.

    This was a 9 o'clock game if I remember correctly I was 10 years old and watched this game in bed in my room. Me like everyone else was shocked when MJ stumbled and fell. Crazy thing is out of all 3 of the Pacers wins the Bulls had a chance to win them they just couldn't hold on to leads down the stretch on top of that rambunctious Indy crowd

      @@evervictorious007 Game 7 is still game 7 and they had the Bulls on the ropes to advance to the Finals. He is supposed to be their best player, superstar and HOF and he no showed not just the end of the game but almost the entire second half.
      Sure the 8 pts is statistically worse but the Pacers were at home and it wasn't the Finals appearance on the line. And he did something in the 4th quarter.
      All in all it was just a really bad series for Miller all-around apart from the push off game and I think game 3 at Market Square was alright. Smits and Dale Davis were the team MVPs with Best an honorable mention.

    • @evervictorious007
      @evervictorious007 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@scottb3034 Agreed. Miller went totally AWOL in the last 1.5 quarters in Game 7. Mullin, a teammate of MJ and Pippen in the 92 US Dream Team was totally nonexistent except for Game 2. It was Smits despite being in foul trouble, both Dale and Antonio Davis and Best who kept the Pacers in the game and sparked the run that nearly dethroned the Bulls before the latter regrouped in the last moments to snatch the momentum and the win in Game 7. McKey and Smits deserved some credit for putting the clamps on MJ wearing him down and restricting him to just 2 for 7 shooting in the 4th. MJ had 28 points but was 9 for 25 shooting overall in Game 7 in contrast to Game 6 where he scored 35 on 12 for 23 shooting. Dale and Antonio Davis put the clamps on Pippen holding him down to just 17 points on 6 for 18 shooting. Kukoc was the only standout performer for the Bulls, stepping up his game scoring 21 on 7 for 11 shooting only to see less playing time in the 4th for defensive purposes. The Pacers also didn’t do their homework on the boards as they were badly out-rebounded in that department 50-34 while allowing the Bulls 22 offensive rebounds.

    • @scottb3034
      @scottb3034 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@evervictorious007 Mullin was just not a good matchup against the Bulls, at that point in his career he was a jump shooter and one who couldn't make his own offense--an issue for Miller too. The Bulls struggled with quicker guys who could go off dribble (Penny, AI, travis best types). Had the Pacers made the Finals, Mullin and Miller would have thrived bombing away since the Jazz personnel weren't clamp types in the way Pippen, Harper and Jordan were.
      Smits and McKey do deserve credit as does Kukoc.
      What I always found fascinating and dissonant from the Davis boys and Smits scoring dominance is just how bad they rebounded. Longley wasn't a demon on the boards and Kukoc could be pushed around, that left all the rebounding on Rodman and the perimeter players' shoulders vs the likes of the Davis bros, McKey & others and they embarrassed the pacers. Given how much the Davises owned Kukoc down low the deficit on the glass should have been way smaller. It was a total failure at a place of strength and it never made sense to me.
