- This is The Khao Yoi Cave Temple. Situated east of Phetchaburi town, this cave holds profound significance as the site where King Rama IV once meditated during his ordination as a monk. Adorned with historical relics and sacred artifacts, it serves as a pilgrimage destination for enthusiasts of Thai Buddhism and history. Ascend the ornate naga-adorned staircase to the cave's entrance, where a colony of monkeys awaits-though they are known to be wary of human interaction. Upon entering, visitors are greeted by a grand reclining Buddha and a collection of statues dating back to King Rama IV's era. The chambers also feature figures such as King U-thong, the former ruler of Ayutthaya. A must-see are the revered Buddha footprints, believed to possess divine significance.
