The CHEAP JEEP ENGINE Was Completely FULL Of STOP LEAK

  • When a cherry (literally) 2001 Jeep Grand Cheeroke falls into your lap, you have to buy it. That's exactly what happened here, all it needed was a quick engine swap to get back on the road. That's exactly what I'm doing today with ‪@TylerPotter‬! Tyler and I got that 4.0 inline 6 engine out, found out the engine and radiator were full of gunk and stop leak, there was basically no oil in it, and the whole package looked like it had been very hot. We managed to get the old engine out and the new engine in and everything underneath done in less than 6 hours, all that's left is hooking up the harness, new plugs, oil, and coolant!

The radiator was flushed 3 different ways until it flowed right and the water was perfectly clear, the heater core will get the same. I understand basic cooling systems, it just needs to be on the water side of the shop...🙄

Just remember those 4.0s of those years take a HOAT style coolant. MS-9769 is the spec to be exact. Zerex G-05 concentrate and distilled water will do the trick but ask a Jeep dealer and they might have the concentrated coolant for less than Zerex at the parts store. Suprisingly the dealer near me was less expensive for the OEM MS-9769 concentrated coolant.

Mechanics were able to get it working again but it never ran right. It also took my him about 60 years to realize that cars need to have their oil changed. I have a funny story. I took one of these for a test drive as my first car in 2007 it was owned by the used car dealer manager. Went onto some backroads with my dad slammed the brakes accelerated listening for noises etc and there was a moaning noise coming from the trunk…literally. So Me and my dad got out and found an screaming woman orgasim prank button that slid under the spare tire. That was mounted inside the trunk.
    Ohh the memories 🤣🤣🤣

A friend had one of these that I forget the model of, it was Black with Gold stripes and the killer looking gold wheels, it had a 360 in it that blew a head gasket, I hadn't talked with him in a few months and when II asked about it he told me he scrapped it, I was like WTF I would have fixed it and he said well you knew it was here, I don't talk much with him anymore!!!

If you’re going through the effort of replacing the engine why not throw in a new radiator, heater core and set of hoses

@WatchJRGo it appears the third or fourth core (freeze) plug was leaking but the vantage point at the end of the video removed engine overview is a bit too high to confirm although the lower portion of the front two freeze plugs have visual corrosion. If you remove them they will likely be markedly worse on the coolant side of the plug. Jeep was kind enough to leave enough casting sand in the block to aid in corroding the plugs!
