@@Nick210 nah, a lot of these builds aren't "budget" builds. This isn't some kids daily, this is a forever car. He most likely goes over the parts list and availability with the customer and if the customer wants to send it any way then thats on them. Most shops do that. I had my s13 sit for 5 weeks over waiting for a certain spec clutch. it happens and I'm sure Tommy tells customers that.
The value of this comment is huge. My last boss (custom fab shop) was a friend to me until, after booking out 4 months into next year, he decided to start working 20+ hour shifts. A lot of promises were not kept, and when I tried to speak to him about the issues, he was so tired he ended up mostly talking about himself in 5 contradictory paragraphs that, as a whole, made no sense. Sleep and sanity come above everything else, with those lost there is no chance of success.

Doing things right takes as long as it takes, and I'd go as far as to say that customers who try to rush their cars through are most likely the same ones who end up complaining that things weren't perfect. 😂

When customer gets car back they can fuck around and try and find new seats or a interior bits. paint the outside, whatever. Tommy makes prolly enough to cover all the guys and shop rent/insurance. He makes his profit on upselling the customer on new pedals in the box or rare shit be buys. He will buy pedals at $800, sell to a customer for $1500. So he does well on that side of things and keeps the cherry shit for himself
Tommy, you should invest in a high privacy/security fence in the front of the property. Keep peeping eyes away from those cars. Will pay for itself to prevent any thefts. And also that lady that gets mad at you guys for doing donuts

The ground cable on the valve cover NEEDS to stay there, because the nut grounds it through the stud in the head. If you put it in the other hole, it wont ground properly since the valve cover is mounted on a rubber, and doesnt touch any metal. The "free" hole is for the throttle cable braquet on RHD cars.
That Greddy catch can is literally the worst catch can I have ever seen. It even has the transparant tube like the Ebay ones. Actually, the cheap Ebay ones are better. At least those are baffled and you can drain them from the bottom.
what are you doing with the merc on top of the container? its begging for a ls with a supercharger make it the yard dog tire melter the body is already roached make it light tires on fire and burn them to the rim
It blows my mind people use plastic lines on oil catch cans. If that melts and pours all over the motor it's asking for trouble. For the price they want it would be easy to integrate a window.
As far as catch cans go, maybe tap the bottom of it and put in a petcock drain. That way you can drain every bit of it an limit the hassle. I know radium has them, that’s what I run on my Frs. Worst case, if you don’t like the Greddy ones, maybe look into the radium catch cans. They’re great quality and have a dip stick to check how much fluid is in there... I believe they’re baffled too, I can’t quite remember. Worst case you can strip the paint and polish it. Depends on how jdm you want to keep the FD. Just my 2 cents worth
It would be interesting to hear more about project management strategies when things start to get to this volume. Are you using any kind of free or cheap software/application? Been getting more into Asana and couple other applications recently so have this on my mind.
i tried this on my old motorcycles, if your black plastics are looking dull (airbox ect) then get a heat gun and head it up because it brings the colour back to the surface
The ground strap is NOT suppose to be on the corner bolt as the aluminum valve cover doesnt even touch the head cause of the gasket. Its supoose to be on the valve cover stud.... look up every oem engine bay. Btw radiator cap on upside down
Aluminum is a great heat conductor. The amount of heat transfer will increase if the temperature difference is high. The lower the temperature difference, the lower is the heat transfer.
Hopefully you can get the 20mm rears to work, not that it looks sunk in that bad but it does give the illusion that the fronts are wider than the rears. With the wingless deck, side skirts and other rear wheels on it, it’s going to be the three cherries on top that brings the FD to perfection.

Yo Tommy, there are thin wall -8 oring to -10 fittings. They flow the same as a normal -10 oring fitting I use them in catch cans just like this. Lemme dig you up a link
Looking good. For a simple non baffled catch can look at the speed engineering ones. I put one on my Silverado last year. Yeah it had a special bracket the mounts to the front of the cylinder head but I’m definitely sure you guys can whip something up. At that rate why not just make you own? If you have to make all types of mods to a greddy wouldn’t it be just as easy to make your own to your exact specs? I thought that’s what you guys have done in the past. Also I have a 1st gen Kawasaki ultra catch can that I can send you guys. Cut the nipple fittings off and weld on anything you want. It’s cylinder shape. Might look cool in a project. Hey it’s Japanese too, not cheap China, lol. But really everything is looking sic. I would have no worries if I brought my car to you guys. Have to get one first, unless you want to hop up a Acura ILX, lol
on the catch can just put a small valve on the bottom connection for the site glass then you can use a vacuum pump to remove the oil with very little effort

The ground is in the right spot on the yellow integra. You want it to be grounding through the whole head not just the valve cover

Doesn't matter there are other grounds one to the block on the thermostat. Another to the starter and the transmission.
