That outro jam was just amazing. Lee hitting that octave fuzz with the Super-Sonic blew my mind. I'm in love with what Squier is doing nowadays with these bold, quirky designs, and now that they're not limited edition I hope I can get my hands on that STUNNING Toronado
@@voided76 it's why i'm interested in it. i find 25.5 to be *slightly* too long and 24 *slightly* too short. Gibson 24.75 and Gretsch 24.6 are my Goldilocks scales, so i'd like a try on it. with 4 knobs and pup switch like a Les Paul, humbuckers, and 24.75 scale, i think it should have been called the Fender Fibson. the other Fender (Toronado is Squier by Fender, technically, but if it sells enough Fender would make a Player Series version) that i am interested in is a set neck Tele that Schecter make for Fender called the FENDER SPECIAL EDITION CUSTOM TELECASTER FMT HH. set neck, all mahogany construction with a flame maple top (FMT) and 2 humbuckers (HH). the only "Fender" thing about it is it's Tele shape and 25.5 inch scale. and it's priced around the middle of the Player Series Fenders, so it's a "cheap" Fender. i believe it also comes with a case, not sure tho. also, the flame maple cap colors, and hence the color of the guitar because the rest of the guitar is colored "mahogany" like a Gibson, include a "burst" color, red to black on the outside, *with matching headstock color* BTW looks VERY Les Paul, too (the matching head color isn't a LP feature, i just thought it was neat and looks F'n great, particularly the burst color which is the same burst on the head). the other 2 colors are a red flame maple, and "amber" yellow flame maple but if i ever got one i'd *insist* it be the burst color because it just tops off the "Les Pauliness" beautifully. the "amber" is, of course, very "early" LP too but less iconic than the burst LPs. Schecter have made them for Fender for about 10 years, i think, and NO ONE knows about them. there are plenty online for sale, just type *fender special edition custom telecaster fmt hh* into google, it'll come right up. not sure with exchange rates, but they're around $1500AU which i think is about 800US, less in British Pounds. they're really cool and i want a burst colored FENDER one before the contract with Schecter runs out and they start making them under Schecter with a different name, which is due to happen very soon. the Schecter ones will be the same, just different model name, not Telecaster, and Schecter on the headstock that is not Telecaster headstock shape (outside the US you cannot Trademark a guitar BODY shape, you *can* trademark a headstock shape, tho, and that is why no guitar company with a recognizable/iconic head shape will *ever* have a "headless" line, the headstock is part of the branding). the Schecters will likely be *better* in terms of colors and hardware variety, and i think they are using Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates Humbuckers like the "Fender" one. one of my favorite PAF style humbuckers, clear and "chimey", less "wooly" than most PAFs, so sound great with all that *warm* mid-rangey mahogany capped with *bright* toppy maple. so it's not QUALITY that makes me want a Fender branded one, it's the same reason it MUST be the burst color. it's a Telecaster being a Les Paul, it's flame maple colors needed to ALL be burst, and there should have been a variant with the Seymour Duncan version of a set of p90s in them, colored black top and black p90s, and a gold top and cream-colored p90s, really *lean-in* on the LP asthetic, and we already know what p90s sound like in a solid mahogany guitar with a maple top shaped like a LP. it would be interesting to hear what "character" the Tele shape in mahogany gives to them. it's a *set* mahogany neck too, remember, the guitar is *begging* for p90s and the Schecters will likely have a "p90" version. but without "Fender" on the head the guitar looses ALL it's "mystique", it is no longer a strange Tele-shaped Les Paul or Les Paul spec-and-construction Tele. it's not a Tele pretending to be a Les Paul, it's a Schecter pretending to be a Tele pretending to be a Les Paul. which is what it was ALL ALONG, but that Fender on the head is IMPORTANT, and that it's a well-made solid mahogany, set-neck, maple top Telecaster with 25.5 inch scale, i think it'd lose a lot of it's "Tele-ness", sonically speaking, if it was 24.75.
I love those T-style Talmans I wish Ibanez would wake that line up again. The YY20 is sick, but it’s also $1100 and only in orange sparkle. And the original 1702m’s are hard to come by and even pricier. Even the cheap model, the TM302m is hard to find and usually pretty pricey. I still like the look of the Talman Tele’s a bit more, but I just ordered a shell pink offset tele and I’m pretty stoked about it. I do like 6 in-line tuners better, so that’s a plus

The blue f-hole Tele with the Jazzmaster pickups is a cool combination that sounds great. If they added a JM-style trem as well, it'd be even better. The baritone Tele was nice too.

Fender have been coming up with some nice colours recently. Cobra blue is very nice and that Mystic seafoam on the Toronado is a great colour, although my favourite fender combo is Fiesta red body , brown tort pickguard, rosewood fingerboard.
I've already bought the Classic Vibe Thinline Tele, black, silver pickguard, exclusive to Andertons. What an awesome guitar, and it goes right alongside my Custom Shop Strat...(I need to stop watching this channel).
@@EarthSouthside sounds great. Squier is so nicer for a noob who just started and bought 1 guitar like me, it’s comfortable and classy, that’s all I need. The only drawback is that teles don’t have cutaways for the neck connection plate like some modern designs.
Honestly, the shorter scale length just takes away a lot of fatigue if you're playing big/complex shapes, extended time, and my favorite... You play a bit different from what you're used to playing on a strat. I always seem to play a lot of Stones on my Jaguar.
Any instrument has a different song in them. I've had a Les Paul for 25 years, and it inspires a certain way of playing. Then I bought an Epi Les Paul Special after the Anderton's demo, and it has a whole lot of different songs and sounds in it. More mellow stuff, more melodic one-note riffs and lics
I recently purchased a Lake Placid Blue Cabronita Tele Thinline and am so impressed with it. So much fun to play, and those pickups sound awesome. The neck is thin and fast, and this guitar is a good pound lighter than any of my guitars (you hardly notice it’s on your shoulder 😊). I have 8 real nice Fender Teles, but this one compares very well with them, and I might even like it better than some of them. Just a fantastic guitar!
I just pickup one of the offset teles from Sweetwater here in the States, and got the okume body and neck model with the Tele single coil in the bridge and Squier's "Full range Humbucker" in the neck and I love it! Have it tuned to open G and it just sings with a slide. Great video as always boys!!! Love the channel and love watching Lee and Pete! Cheers mates

I don't associate Jazzmaster pickups with thin sound at all. On the contrary I consider them the fattest single coil pickups. They have a huge frequency range. People always talk about the high frequencies, which I think is odd, because to me what gives a Jazzmaster its caracter is actually its mids and low mids. You can even hear it in how it works with gain. Sounds so full. Similar to a tele but fuller. On the other hand, I do consider Jaguar pickups as being thin sounding. I'm not a fan of tort guards anyways (I don't mind it on my mintgreen Talman bass though), so I'm glad they didn't put that on the shellpink tele. I prefer white or mint green guard and a maple fretboard, so that one actually looks absolutely perfect to me 😄
I don't understand why dual-concentric knobs aren't standard on all contemporary style Fender guitars. They could offer volume and tone for each pickup without crowding the guitar with lots of knobs.
Having the toggle switch horizontal instead of vertical on the Super-Sonic prevents you from knocking it down when you strum. That happens to me all the time with a Les Paul or a Tele Custom/Tele Deluxe.
It'd be really, really cool if you guys did a run of FSR 60's Classic Vibe Stratocasters in Firemist Gold with a matching painted headstock and string-through hardtail bridge. I'd snag one of those in a heartbeat, and I bet I'm not alone.
I got a black Toranado for $230 at my local music store and I like it. Stays in tune and I got the action really low. Probably gonna put in a JB and a 59 or Jazz. Graphite nut as well. Somebody bought it and brought it back. They couldn't resell for full price. So I tried it out and snapped it up. Only thing I would have liked it to have bigger frets😉
Squire blue sparkle were the first supersonics and the most saught after from the 90s. Ihad the Fender pawn shop series in ruby red sparkle i had too sell iy for bills sadly but im glad i can buy this. Good show
Perhaps the best way to describe a Baritone guitar is, it is like having a capo in the other direction. But they do also have a slightly different feel both in the extra room but also the tension on the strings.

The Toronado and SuperSonic were part of the Vista series back in the mid 90's and those are the original colours of the supersonic (Silver and Blue Sparkles) I had a Blue sparkle one. Courtney Love & Hole used/endorsed them.

I’m torn between getting the Offset Tele or the Super Sonic. Smaller hands so I know i would love the Super Sonic feel. I’ve ALWAYS been a SSS player so the Tele tone-wise is more up my alley - but the HH in that Sonic don’t sound “muddy” or even really all that “humbuck-y” to me. The biggest drawback from the Tele is the maple. I’ve never owned a guitar with maple fretboard. Before anyone says go play them - I’m 2 hours away from a guitar center/fender-carrying shop. One shop west of me has the Tele, another shop south of me has the Sonic - neither have both. Sorry for the length but if anyone could add input on their experiences while minding my pros and cons I would be forever grateful.

It's mostly the sound of the amp & cab. A guitar accounts for 1/3 of the sound signature.

I've got an old Squier Supersonic from the 90s, was my main gigging guitar for several years.
It was inspired by a pic of Hendrix playing an upside down strung Jazzmaster

You can usually swivel the switch to make it work horizontally. As long as there's room in the body cavity.

I got a black Toranado for $230 at my local music store and I like it. Stays in tune and I got the action really low. Probably gonna put in a JB and a 59 or Jazz. Graphite nut as well. Somebody bought it and brought it back. They couldn't resell for full price. So I tried it out and snapped it up. Only thing I would have liked it to have bigger frets😉
Squire blue sparkle were the first supersonics and the most saught after from the 90s. Ihad the Fender pawn shop series in ruby red sparkle i had too sell iy for bills sadly but im glad i can buy this. Good show

Perhaps the best way to describe a Baritone guitar is, it is like having a capo in the other direction. But they do also have a slightly different feel both in the extra room but also the tension on the strings.
Great playing as always. My Squire Contemporary Strat in Sunset is due to arrive this afternoon. Can't wait, love what Squire are doing at the moment. Don't know why but I get more excited about this sort of stuff than any of the expensive kit out there.

Might get the tele style or the green Toranado next I travel for my job. Don't want to bring a super expensive guitar with me in and out of cheap motels. Works for me. Glad people are finding out they're good guitars for the $$$. Really good gift for the beginning guitar player

The Toronado and SuperSonic were part of the Vista series back in the mid 90's and those are the original colours of the supersonic (Silver and Blue Sparkles) I had a Blue sparkle one.
Courtney Love & Hole used/endorsed them.

@@thepatzer Thanks for the info. I expected to have to use power tools. I should add I was most attracted by the Thinline. I was already looking for modding videos. Wiring of hollow bodies is an art of its own, too.

I’m torn between getting the Offset Tele or the Super Sonic. Smaller hands so I know i would love the Super Sonic feel. I’ve ALWAYS been a SSS player so the Tele tone-wise is more up my alley - but the HH in that Sonic don’t sound “muddy” or even really all that “humbuck-y” to me. The biggest drawback from the Tele is the maple. I’ve never owned a guitar with maple fretboard. Before anyone says go play them - I’m 2 hours away from a guitar center/fender-carrying shop. One shop west of me has the Tele, another shop south of me has the Sonic - neither have both.
Sorry for the length but if anyone could add input on their experiences while minding my pros and cons I would be forever grateful.
Really wanted the pink offset tele but after hearing it next to the super sonic i think I’m getting the pink super sonic instead it looks really cool with the glitter blue too tho 😳
