"If Harry Potter's wand can make decision, why can't Thor's hammer?" Penny's best argument after this scene.
That's because after the duel in the graveyard against Voldemort, Harry's wand absorbed some of Voldemort's incredible power and then when he went to kill Harry again in the Battle of 7 Potters, his wand recognises Voldemort and regurgitates his own magic right back in his noseless face.

For clarity sake, it’s those who are worthy that can lift the hammer. It’s a magic placed by Odin. Otherwise Captain America shouldn’t be able to use it. And yes, if Thor is touching the Hammer, others can lift it.

This is one of the best subplots of the later seasons. Seeing the girls dismiss the nerd stuff only to get invested unintentionally is freaking hilarious.

Hard to believe that no one in the cast is into fantasy and science fiction irl. . . Whoa, that came out strange.
The best part of this scene was left out: When the boys return to the apartment, overhear them debating Thor's hammer, and are totally befuddled, as if they've stepped into an alternate universe! 😁

I miss this show but mostly I miss the older seasons when it was about nerd culture.. Before they all got girlfriends and children and such.
It had a decent ending for sure but the earlier seasons still remains my favorites.
I guess I am really feminine when it comes to comic books. I have read a few and always thought this must be the Kryptonite for nerds. There is no worse form of literature. Even gr. 4 creative writing classes are more insightful.
It's not a feminine thing. It's a nerd thing.of which there are femal nerds. Pow pow kaboom.
scenes like this prove the writers have zero idea wtf is going on. this and the “chinese invented the sandwich”. the show really lost its touch in the later seasons; it’s all just filler
IMO "Thor's hammer" is a perfect brand name for ladies toys.
Maybe Penny named her battery operated chew toy found by Sheldon 'Thor's Hammer'.
