- The day has came - the reason why my Hungarian friend and her mum wanted to visit the Philippines. To be tattooed by the 106 years old legendary tattoo artist of Buscalan: Apo Whang Od.
Needles to say it was a really emotional day full of happy tears and excitement as their dream came true!

Tell your friends that the Miss Universe Philippines gown name Michelle dee this year wearing black gown was a body tatoo design of Wang Ud .
Thank you for sharing this information. The gown was strikingly gorgeous on MD; I watched several pageant vloggers discuss “the look” but no one mentioned this point. (I’m referencing the one from the Philippine national pageant, that looked kinda inspired by a snake: black & if I recall silver accents). Maybe the dress you mention is from the international pageant…..Good to know either way! Ty
p.s. I searched & realize the gown inspired by W is not the one I was remembering. I looked up the dress from the actual international pageant & it is WOW. Great gown. I didn’t see the actual pageant, just the national Phil. qualifying one. It is a wonderful gown on its own but even better to know its inspiration & to whom it does homage.

damn.. when i look to your friend staring at the legend wang od i dont know why but shiiiit i got tears in my eyes too and i dont know why.. maybe because of what apo wang od have been thru in her entire life.
I can understand! I cried as well when I first met her and got her tattoo. It's such a strange feeling to sit in front of her knowing her life, all she's been through and then having the chance to get tattooed by her just like the headhunters did back then.

As for Kaorin and her Mom's emotional experience with Apo Whang Od, i feel a huge sense of gratitude that both ladies appreciate (Kaorin's tears clearly proves her appreciation and as a Filipino it certainlyvwarms my heart to see her react that way) the magnitude of the once in a lifetime event that they had just experienced. It is something that many Filipinos, like me, might never be able to experience at all. I am very happy to see Kaorin and Marianne (spelling) get the chance to meet Apo Whang Od and receive a tattoo.

Maybe try to visit benguet. I saw some videos of that place to some moto vloggers and its really beautiful but a bit dangerous coz of the road is too steep
