Great one!, Sir, what do you think...which one is the best for putting outdoor and stream in TH-cam? I mean... one with RTMP already on? newbie here....
I've flashed my Annke C-800 with Hikvision firmware as they refuse to pay for the new firmware from Hik. Only way I could get H265 on the bullet version. Mentioning this firmware upsets Annke tech support. Your mileage may vary.
Hi Quindor! You've convinced me; i've bought the Annke' cameras trough the Aliexpress link (4 pcs for €232 = €58 each.....that's incredible!) at my door just 2 days after ordering!!! I had troubles adding the camera's to my NxWitness server (also because of your video), but this was solved by flashing HikVision Firmware to the camera (since they are rebranded OEM versions anyway), after the upgrade; the cameras identify as a HikVision camera, and it works like a charm. Just search for: HikVision DS-2CD2383G0-I(U) and use that firmware.
Can you adjust the IR brightness level on the Annke C800? I've really enjoyed watching your videos. It has helped in making my camera selection easier.
Nice comparison. On my 1080p monitor at 16:25 the 2431 shows with color despite being darker in the foreground. Thought that was a plus not having to use the ir and still getting a decent color picture.
Great video thanks ! now, if the DaHua had RTSP and a way to code in a TH-cam stream key then this would be a winner ! unless im not seeing this option looking over the specs ! DO you know off hand if it would do this ?
Thanks for another cool video! Question: can you disconnect the wires completely (speaking about the 2 winner cameras) to just push the smallest side through a hole in the wall? Or do I need as big of a hole as the ethernet plug? Also can flip it upside down and the put against a wall and point downwards and flip the image afterwards? Or do the camera's not work upside down?
Cable is attached so if you'd want the connecting piece inside your house you'd need a hole that big. But the normal way to do it is to push a bare UTP cable outside, so you only need a hole as big as that cable, then put a plug on it and connect them together with the water tight equipment that generally comes with it. All cameras support flipping the image in software, no downside to doing that so that's all fine. :)
I use H265 with either 5Mbps or 6Mbps for 4k cameras, depending on the expected movement of that scene. For space I use 2 old 4TB disks, so have plenty for the 10 cams I usually run. :)
@@IntermitTech Thanks for feedback. I'm interested on how much days of recording do you get on NxWitness (low/high) with how many cameras you use, im swapping a lot of my camaeras to 4mp dahuas which allows the 6mps, buw wondering how much i would get in recording.
Are you planning on making an explainer video on the creation of a separate vlan for the cameras? My camera's are not on a separate vlan, but I guess I should better do so :-) Not sure how to get them connected to my Synology NAS if they are on a different vlan (the NAS also functions as my NVR but I need to keep it connected to the internet.)
I've thought about it, making but the VLANs might be a bit much to get into, but I do have another plan for that to basically reach the same goal but without VLANs. :)
@@IntermitTech looking forward to see what your plan is! I'll be paying close attention to your solution as you're probably right that having my camera's connected to my normal network is not very safe.
I have some of my HDW5831Rs on those PFB203W and I believe that would be perfectly fine. Might want to look at the HDW2431TM (so with M) I believe that one is full metal which might be slightly better outside, although I had no issues with the non-metal outside the last 2 weeks either, both are fully weather sealed.
It was good to see a review of cheap cameras. To be honest, I find the Reolink RLC-520 and similar camera's really good for the price. There are a lot of reviews on them floating around though :)
Your Dahua IPC-HDW4631C-A model, there is something wrong with it. I have 3 pieces of this camera, the image is much sharper at the standard settings. I know there is a sharpness problem, I read on forums that people fixed the problem manually by twisting the lens. If you want, I will send you some photos or videos from my cameras for comparison. ;) Anyway, thanks so much for the next great test, keep doing it.
This was after adjusting actually, I opened it up, removed the glue and focused it as best I could.... But with the official model now costing the same, I'd always advise to get those.
@@IntermitTech I understand, you apparently got some damaged model. Perhaps it's the software's fault, maybe it's worth contacting the seller. I have bought 3 from ali, all 3 have really sharp images for fixed focal length cameras. As for the ANNKE c800, I'm surprised by the picture quality;) Is it the PAL or NTSC version? I wonder because some people write that 4K is 12.5fps, others 15fps, maybe it's a matter of PAL / NTSC system.
Perfect timing Quindor. About to move to a new house and been looking at IP cameras. Thanks for the time and effort to produce this video 👍👍👍
Why not review the Reolink POE cameras?

none of these cams do 4k at 30fps correct? are there any decent ones reasonably priced that do? an idea for a new video? Great reviews!

I don't have any plans for it right now

All Dahua have RTSP? And most can even do RTMP streaming directly to TH-cam for instance.
@@IntermitTech OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH sweet thanks ! thats what im looking for ! thank you
Hi, Quin, please advice IPC-HDW2431T-AS-S2 variant in bullet case?

In your main setup with your usual cameras and NxWitness do you still use x265 / 6000kbps on the camera settings or you change them for saving space?

Looking in the As-s2 model in aliexpress is 2 options. 2.8mm and 3.8mm what is the difference? Thanks
Viewing angle.
@@raffal81 Thanks. So, 3.8mm is wider? But that compromise the resolution?
@@changchung No lower mm lens is wider. I doesn't affect the resolution.

I have Annke C800s. The images are very sharp and the IR light is very bright !
Yeah, pleasantly surprised by them. Especially like a 4 pack during 11.11 it's a steal for the image quality you get!

I thought is was DA HU AAAA hmmm must be stonecoal english. You butcher the name much much better!
