I think I could watch Jim play 8 more hours of this deck. As a Magic zoomer, a pure burn deck is something I've never really seen in action before, and it is glorious.
Well a true no creature burn deck yea but before eldraine and the degeneracy that is monsterous rage we had play with fire lightning bolt mechanisws warfare, also there was urabrask and dopplweganging crime lands
MTGGoldfish also played Boros Burn today. Differences in the decks: 2 Hired Claw were Kellans, 4 Shocks were 4 main deck Screaming Nemesis, 4 Abraded Bluff as his duels-the "Crime Lands." Seth regretted Kellan. Wished he just played more Hired Claw.
Feels like an old school burn deck! cool. That crimson case card i've always liked since it came out, if they don't remove it the thing takes over the game.
would Abraded Bluffs be more desirable than Thran Portal? yes Bluffs enters tapped every time, but dealing a damage upon entry and always making both colors seems like a really good upside. and it always feels nice when your lands play like spells
Two cards I've found work pretty well are Blooming Blast and Grab the Prize. After about 30 matches I also recommend 4 Screaming Nemesis because you'll go against lifegain literally 90% of the time with this deck in bo1.
Bloodfeather phoenix definitely seems like a good add. It comes back when you deal damage to an opponent with a instant or sorcery for 1 red mana and gets haste.
Depends on the removal that is popular. The recursion is best vs removal heavy decks and the body itself is a bit low impact. It's really bad vs exile so if the midrange and control decks are exile heavy I don't think it's worth it. If it's base had haste I would be higher on the card. Now if cut down etc are the go to removal then it's likely worth playing over hiredclaw or in the board.
Around 7:17, I don't think I would wait for my opponent to untap in this position. If he also has Burst Lightning, why risk giving him access to five mana?
Yeah, Pyromancer causes unnecessary clicks, but you're still doing the unnecessary clicks with Boltwave so maybe it wouldn't save that much in practice
personally would rather Slickshot over the Pyromancer. You are slinging burn spells to the face and Slickshot is a better aggressive card that can be exiled to empty the hand to be played later.
Am I the only one boarding in the Bloodfeather phoenix for the control matchups? Sure, they cost a mana to get back, but they are pretty taxing for black decks to deal with.

A lot of decks play anoint with affliction and torch the tower, so it doesn't look that great right now.
You're not milling/looting it away tho, so you'd have to actually cast it first, which seems quite unappealing in the face of exiling removal.

No Showoff feels like a mistake here. Budget aside, card with Boros Charm is the stones. All three modes are excellent on it.
its not guaranteed damage. u have to few creatures. they have excess creature removal.

to me, a burn deck has no Creatures... that makes it aggro... Burn is all non combat damage...
