    Riding on an all-new platform that's stronger and lighter, while nearly stretching as long as flagship sedans from Germany and Japan, the completely new 2016 Cadillac CT6 promises to be a world class sedan that offers a new level of driving involvement not typically associated with big luxury sedans. It's a must drive for those of you looking for American luxury that offers all the features and power of your neighbors German sedan but at a much lower price point.

    • @coureurdebois
      @coureurdebois 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      -Biuld not Brought Type R- im sure it will do well, though personally i dont think its quite S class level, now with that said a S class will top out at 160K while a CT6 will top out at 88K so there is that, but really what you're getting is a full sized luxury sedan with every single option / feature at a lower price than a non-optioned S class lol.

    • @BugattiVeyronBugattiliker2
      @BugattiVeyronBugattiliker2 8 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      +justin bouche yeah it blows everyone of them out the water in terms of what your getting for your money: an actual drivers car that's fun and can be comfortable when you need it to be while still a fraction of the price it's German rivals , I mean even when the ATSV dropped it had features that the 80k BMW didn't like leather seats, a back up camera, heated steering wheel etc, and all around a bang for Buck sports sedan and even the 16' camaro had leather seats standard (correct me if I'm wrong) Cadillac really is bringing out the true M cars of the past in American form only at a fraction of the price and better imo. BMW even use artificial speaker systems to try and glorify the I6 and make the M4 better, used electric steering and made it all around feel like a cheap car for what your getting for your money , i just hope consumers can see that Cadillac has changed and that they don't only appeal to older buyers anymore and their maturing and really taking out their German rivals one by one slowly lol

    I think Cadillac has a winner here.for the price the exterior is gorgeous, and the interior is the best interior GM has probably ever made. the engineering under the sheet metal is also something we haven't seen from the competitors. even the AWD system is great. the dark interior compliments the layout very well. if I had the money Id go for a mid level 3.6 in white with all black interior :)

    The Cadillac CT7/8/9 programs are NOT scrapped, they are delayed. The XT (or crossover touring) 4/6/7 have been fast tracked instead along with their new Twin Turbo 4 Liter 8 cylinder. I saw your response to a comment below. This is NOT the flagship Cadillac. It's simply the biggest Cadillac (sedan).

      $81,000 and he is surprised with soft touch materials? Cadillac needed to produce cars at almost cost to the consumer to win the back. My friends and I and my family don't even bother to look at Cadillac anymore. They dragged their feet for 40 years and expected different. Great...any car company can come up with a good car relative to price. You were going through features and I was thinking....thats going to add a hell of a lot of money and it did. No one is going to shop this with an S Class. This is for "Americans" (like me) that want to buy "American" and have been looking forward to it for so many years. Mercedes earned their reputation. I would maybe shop this with a top E Class..espdcially the sleek new one. No one is going to say...ooohh...S Class or CT6. I add almost $30,000 more in options...it better damn well have a decent engine and good seats. Good review...a bit too many wows. You are usually good and this is a good review...a bit too much reviww pressure and I'm nlt spending $81,000 on a Cadillac. (and not the top $ version) Weight saving is the best thing about this car. Are they still using those old trunk pillars?...wow indeed. Old people dont want to be thrown around. Magnetic suspension option is great but much more money! Drive a $60,000-65 version and thats a real review. Of course a tester is coming with almost all the bells and whistles. I want to see a side by side review with an S Class...hmm

    I want it....and am gonna get it. Had my car in the dealer for repairs and he rolls out this big black beautiful CT6 as a loaner. Now they don’t use these as loaners but I think he just wanted to impress me and maybe get me to trade my very rare 2012 fully loaded CTS 4 Wagon. Not gonna happen. BUT....I loved driving the CT6. People were so impressed by it. It has that “very successful” look about it.....which I did not like so much since I am more understated in my ways. Any way...the car was super excellent. I am talking about the 2020 CT6 since I am only just watching this video now in 2020. I love Cadillac. Keep up the good work. I have no interest in giving the Germans all my money.

    I see that you use the word "flagship" quite often in this video, but Cadillac marketing team aviods to mention that this is their flagship model, instead they just call this top of the range model in the sedan line. John de Nysschen, CEO of Cadillac, wanted to make this clear because CT8 or CT9 is coming up in near future and that would be the real flagship sedan for the brand. Only flagship vehicle in current Cadillac line up is the Escalade

      +Redline Reviews Neither Cadillac nor GM confirmed that the CT8 project has been scrapped. It may have been pushed back by a couple of years, but, they did not scrap plans for it. Cadillac has 11 new vehicle projects under way, and the CT8 will be one of them.

      I talked to a few people within GM and I can tell you there is still a CT8 coming. I got this info from a dealer owner and a Cadillac marketing rep just about a month ago. The car has been pushed back a year or so but its absolutely not cancelled.

    Such a shame that GM abandoned the CT6 . . . if they had resolved the model's transmission nightmares and buildquality issues, it could have continued and succeeded as their flagship sedan.

    Another great review. Thanks man! I have a 2015 CTS and I love it but the exhilaration on your face on this video makes me look forward to my next car. Question for you - how are you capturing sound in the interior? It sounds good, little background noise.

    Vehicle Virgins said that the door handles felt cheap because they were made of flimsy plastic and that the engine sounded like that of a minivan when he matted it on the one he had, but then again he was comparing it to his Mercedes S550.

    I really like what Volvo has done with the new S90. Scooped in front grill, (retro, yet a great departure from the rest of the automakers), and the controversial back end of the car, which I think is gorgeous, despite the comparative criticism of other model cars. You must see it in person before you judge from a video or pictures. Plus we have the safety of the Volvo (safest car there is) and a totally re-engineered interior which is simplistic yet utterly luxurious.
    Volvo hit a Grand Slam. Congrats Volvo on two steps up in the luxury from what we are used to from Volvo, yet maximized safety.

    You should Definitely do the Dodge Charger, and Challenger Scatpack 392, or at least the R/T Road&Track Version. The Chrysler 300 would be another good one, so would the New Focus RS if you haven't already. The Chevy SS Holden would be another great review if you can find one, those are hard to track down. Or the New Impala.

    Exterior: what a beautiful machine. Sleek, excellent proportions, regal presence. It looks like the kind of car that makes you want to wear nicer clothes.
    Interior: the overall layout is... Fine. It's not stunning like the exterior. My biggest issue is with the font and colors of the instrument gauge and CUE display. It doesn't read as luxury at all, at least on camera. Hopeful that there are alternative layouts that don't remind me of an arcade game? The font looks like they borrowed it from a gas station ATM. Small but significant details, and in this class, it's all about the details.

    +Redline Reviews would you take the CT6 over the new Volvo V90? The Candy's interior and infotainment looks so hodgepodge and incohersive with carbon fiber, orange leather, platics everywhere and a weird mesh leather on the dash. Too many cooks in the kitchen in my opinion. The Volvo on the other had is cheaper price wise, so elegant looking, and the interior has that "wow" factor. Curious on your thoughts.

    • @liberalweirdo7886
      @liberalweirdo7886 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Blake Swan I agree I would get a more normal color and wood trim instead of carbon fiber this way at least the interior only has a few things going on instead of a dozen

  • @WilliamStewart1
    @WilliamStewart1 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    I feel like it needs some piano black on the center console instead of the dark grey look, I think it would contrast with the carbon fiber better and give it a richer look. Maybe just me though.
