      I just found his channel today! All throughout COVID I have been DIYing my entire condo! And I use TH-cam for everything! However, I am thrilled to have found a man that thinks like the artist I am.’

    I love how you share your frustrations! I always end up doing things the king hard way so it was good to see that sometimes you just get excited and completely miss the “easy” way until it’s too late! I e commented before… keep it real! You make me laugh out loud bc I feel your frustrations and it keeps it relatable and encourages to keep going and see it through!

    amazing! a ton of work , but a very high end look.
    the room will look great after door & window frames are painted black!

    • @REISSUED
      @REISSUED  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Yuna! Glad you like the rug! I was only planning to paint the doors black… do you think the window frame should go black too?

    • @yunahkim4667
      @yunahkim4667 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@REISSUED i would do the window frame black too - glossy -- but i can understand the hesitation b/c you have that other stain glass window & door way to the right- - where do you stop - hmm. maybe photoshop the window frame black after you do the door frame and see. a bold black window frame can look so modern & clean and set off the view.
      and yes, you dont need to recover those chairs. maybe later after the room is more filled up w/ a few things and you want to balance it out.. you have a great eye. (i found your channel b/c of that insane faux stained glass - that was shockingly beautiful).

You get frustrated often because you're such a perfectionist, but then again that's why your DIYs are such a success. Love your videos, thank you for sharing your experiences with us. looks cool! the amount of sunlight through that window definitely bolsters the look of the rug - you said astroturf but I was thinking about the dappling of trees on a sunny day. I'm so curious how painted rugs feel underfoot once they dry and how they age

    • @REISSUED
      @REISSUED  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey Mary! You’re totally right about the look of sunlight through the trees! As for painted rugs… the feeling underfoot isn’t great… but not too much worse than it would be for the carpet tiles before they got painted. Same for jute or other low pile, rough rugs. Wear is decent! I have one that I painted 10 years ago! Looks a little faded now, but if I decide to keep it, I can just touch up the paint.

    Your creativity is so inspiring! Your way of working is very relatable. I love that you share your frustrations and give us suggestions of how you would improve the process next time. I think the subtlety of the colour variations in the rug are perfect. It looks more high end and elegant that way.

  • @colinmcknight9605

    I do think that the chairs need some attention in order to stand up to the other powerful visuals in the room. Initially, I was thinking reupholster them, but then I thought that would be too much, so maybe just reupholster the backs. Then it occurred to me that it would be very cool if you painted the backs similar to what you did with the leather jackets in one of your other videos.
    Making each those chairs a piece of art would take the room to a whole new level. It is becoming an amazing space!

    Love the concept and the finished product. I work with Adobe illustrator to the point that it’s my go-to for anything shape/design related, so my actual methodology might have been different, I do enjoy seeing how others attack a design problem.
    Also love everything Bauhaus, Abstract Expressionism, cubism, all those related movements. I do enjoy your style and perspective!

    Adding a little red (the complement) to your green will mute the green and provide contrast.

    Thank you for sharing this video with us. :) I was wondering, is that a box cutter you used to cut the carpet? If so, would you advise using this than any type of scissors? Thanks again. :)

    • @REISSUED
      @REISSUED  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey there! Yes I used a utility knife for most of my cuts since the rubber backing on the squares was very thick. I’m not sure any scissors I have would have cut through!

    I was excited when I saw all the geometric shapes and colors in the design, but this one fell flat for me, I was hoping for more of a pop. It's a bit monochromatic for what I think you're capable of. I like the idea tho.

    • @rockshot100
      @rockshot100 ปีที่แล้ว

      I disagree, this is a very bold pattern. If they pieces were all different strong primary colors, it would have been too much, especially against that checkerboard floor. I appreciate the restraint.
