Please could you advise me. I have arthritis in both knees, have been in tremendous pain for 12 months. My physio recently gave me 3 excercises to do twice daily plus I have been doing on the spot jogging 3 times daily. I have been getting pain on the inside of my knees, is it possible I am doing too much?

I have a question. This is my background. I'm 75 and at 74 was described as young for my age, fit and active, no medications. Then I had a freak accident nearly 12 months ago. At the hospital I was told that my pubic bone on my right side was cracked, but not right through, and also my right wrist was broken badly. So since then my wrist has been plated and pinned and I have no sensitivity in the tips of my thumb and first 2 fingers which I've been told is probably permanent due to the median nerve damage in my hand. Then later I had an MRI scan privately and my sacra alas on both sides had been broken. The first was at the time of the accident and the second a month or 2 later through favouring my right side during recovery. 6 months later a late dexa scan suggested a low level of osteoporosis. My 2 older sisters then had dexa scans and they are apparently alright even though we've each lost 2 inches in height. However, during my enforced period of inactivity I'm now shocked at the flesh and muscle loss I have as well as the strength in my upper arms. Can you suggest any exercises that I can do which would be safe for my spine and also my elbows which have given me problems in the past, golfer's elbow? I'm not actually a golfer I understand it refers to which side of the elbow bones is affected. Also I have a rowing machine which I've always enjoyed using but have been advised not to use it, would you agree? Thank you. Jean Fox

I'd recommend you see your GP Jean to refer you to Physio. 🙏

Is there less benefit if the march is done on carpet?
