As always, this is such a great video with very clear guidance and instructions from Michelle. My problem often with exercises is that I go through them too quickly but by listening carefully to Michelle it really makes the difference. I feel so much more confident that I’m doing them correctly as a result. Thank you as always!
@ciarahurley2420 You're so welcome! Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm delighted to hear that you found the instructions clear and helpful. Taking your time and following the guidance closely can indeed make a significant difference in the effectiveness of the exercises. Wish you all the best! 🙏 💖
Michelle. Your videos are so helpful. I have been in pain with GTPS and was told by my osteopath to start stretching. The stretches from my physio made me worse (the osteopath was amazing though) your exercises in combination with osteopathy has me out of pain and walking for the first time in 2 years. I can not thank you enough.
Hi Michelle, thank you very much for the videos for osteoporosis. I have been practicing your exercises for spine and hip osteoporosis , however, I have been diagnosed with osteoporosis to the lumbar spine. Could you please include some exercises for the lumbar spine osteoporosis? Thank you very much for your time and effort to help our community with your videos for osteoporosis exercises. All the best for you!
I recently had a DEXA scan, and it said I have osteperosis in my hip and something called oatepenia everywhere else. They started me on a weekly pill but suggested I exercise. So I'm going to save this video and try these out. I'm only in my 40s and already here. But then again, I started menopause at 35 years old. So I guess it's not that surprising.
Thanks so much Michelle, for your information. I find your slow exercises to be easy to follow, and pain-free. I'm hoping my next DEXA scan shows no more bone loss.
New follower. Thank you for this video & easy explanation. I feel this will help me my spain & lower back pain. I just did it & I feel the stretching that I have been looking for. Thank you!
@Cubanita1sensual Thank you for your comment and for becoming a new follower! I'm so glad to hear that you found the exercises in the video helpful and that they're providing you with the stretching and relief you've been looking for. Consistency is key when it comes to exercises, so keep up the good work, and I hope you continue to see improvements in your spine and lower back health. Stay active and take care of your health!🙏
Hi Michelle Thank you for your video I have severe osteoporosis dexa scan results-3.9 Last yr I had two severe wedge fractures at T 6/7 not picked up for 5 months when I had a Ct scan on my gallbladder and looking for a stone that had moved It was this Ct scan that picked up the fractures and also that they had caused kyphosis The fracture were presant on an X-ray 5 months prior which the doctor failed to see I was to the pain was all muscular and to carry on as normal I am now in dreadful pain and I’m now 19 months on and the pain is getting worse To make matters worse I also have very severe emphysema making excersize very difficult I can’t even raise my arm fully anymore because I am so out of condition because my breathing stops me from doing everyday things like dressing bathing cooking I have 4 times a day carers The physio came 3 times and she didn’t come again She gave me a band to put under my feet and to pull it which really hurts Heels drops which I do but it’s making no difference to strengthening my calf’s My skin is just glancing with no muscle I was told x 5 small squats and basically keep walking around my house as often as I can from room to room She couldn’t offer me anything eles and told me to have physio at the hospital but I’m still on a very long waiting list and now just getting weaker and weaker and the pain is so much worse The only relief I get is lay in a recliner position on the sofa with pillows all around my back Standing I have to lean on my kitchen side after ten min This does also help with my breathing to open my diaphragm I really need to strengthen my muscles as I’m getting so weak and unsteady on my feet Please can you tell me if your excersizes are suitable with have fractures and kyphosis Thank you and advise will be very much appreciated
Thank you for these 2 concise exercises to strengthen my spine. I tried both and these are 2 exercises I know I can be consistent with several days of the week. Thank you again!!!!!

@DMDBOTH Hello my sincere apologies for the delayed reply, thank you for persevering. After spinal fractures exercises need to be specifically prescribed for your body by a physiotherapist. He/she will know the best exercises to promote your recovery for the region of your spine and muscles involved. These are general back-strengthening exercises not designed for women with spinal fractures. Wishing you all the best 🙏
Hi Michelle, Also a new subscriber. I felt this was helpful and have been doing these for about 2 months and am up to 3 sets of 10 each. My question is.. what is a good way to stretch the muscles out afterward? Thank you!
@KathrynJoyTCSuccess Hello, welcome and thank you for subscribing. There are a couple of stretching routines that you may like to do. This first one is osteoporosis stretches see here th-cam.com/video/XlYi1IFSOCA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Ci4jDNmfzaHyNeV2 and posture correction stretches (start gently with the leg/hip swings) th-cam.com/video/Eb_9113WzHk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=R0cNg362X3nZ6I1V I'll make a laying down stretching video in coming months too, I hope this is helpful 🙏🏽🌻
Hi Michelle, I am new to your channel,so not sure where to start. Firstly I have a prolapsed bladder, but, have just been diagnosed with osteopenia, plus I have osteoarthritis in spine, plus curve in spine. I walk every day,up to 30 mins. Now. My question is,if I follow your osteoporosis exercises, will it worsen prolapse. Maybe you could suggest which exercises to begin with I want to do for both issues. I am 80 and I want to remain non reliant on walkers etc. Thankyou Diann
@dianndarling4428 Hi Diann, lovely to hear from you! Diann all the exercises you see me perform on all my exercises videos for women are pelvic floor friendly and therefore usually appropriate for women with prolapse problems. I do have a couple of "Unsafe Exercises to Avoid" videos too. We know that walking is a wonderful exercise, however it has no benefit for increasing bone density, bone density exercises with prolapse problems require appropriate resistance (strength) training, gentle core and balance exercises too. Diann here is my playlist of Osteoporosis Exercises th-cam.com/play/PLqo18HBnle8zFH1-RSxTx-k35V0UHknpG.html You can scroll through and choose. These exercises are all pelvic floor friendly for women with prolapse too. I will make some specific exercise videos in the future on this topic too as it’s a very important one, thank you for the prompt. Best wishes🙏
You said osteoporosis. I have slight arthritis in my lower back. I've often thought I needed to strengthen my lower back. Will these help along with other yoga?
Hi Michelle. Thanks! I am only 62. My spine’s discs and bone caught osteoporosis. As a result, I am 5” shorter in 2 years. What do you suggest? My ribs are close to one another. I now have a protruded belly. I am upset and very uncomfortable. Thank you
Hi... I find very uncomfortable to have a pillow below my hips can I do your exercises without a pillow that means just lying my body flat on the floor or bed ?
I keep a daily log which motivates me to get this 73 yr old body moving. I have you named " Aussie Girl" in my journal🙂 I love your soothing voice and your exercises. I appreciate you posting the videos.
@Wanda Joyce Wyatt ohhh goodness, thank you so much for this lovely comment and support Wanda, I am most grateful to you indeed . I'm really so glad that I'm able to help and I really do appreciate you taking the time to let me know. Love the way you named me by the way. That's very sweet of you. Wishing you all the best for your future health and happiness 🙏 💖
@Anjali Agrawal not necessarily unfortunately - sciatica exercises need to be specific to the cause. Spinal extension exercises can help with sciatica caused by a disc bulge but can worsen sciatica caused by osteoarthritis/wear and tear. I'm going to be taking some time to make some videos on this in the coming weeks so stay tuned and thank you so much for the reminder!!❤️
Do you have to use a pillow, i have been doing these without, but,i recently did something my back is sore right now,i will try the pillow, but, i need to know if that might have help creat this challange, Michele hope yo will respond.
@cinmac3 Hi there, yes pillow between knees reduces low back rotation whilst sleeping/resting. Worth a trial and see how it goes, hope this info is helpful 🙏
@simon yes Kegels strengthen the pelvic floor muscles. Stronger pelvic floor muscles can take the load and pressure off the suspensory ligaments. Both the ligaments and the muscles work together to support the pelvic organs and hold them in position 🙏
My 7 month old male cat has been suffering from itchiness, rash, redness, rough far despite us washing him regularly, we also apply antiseptic creams on him, also cold drenched multani soil ( one kind of Indian organic skin care remedy). We are very anxious about him. Any remedies? He has gotten thinner for a couple of months now! 😿😢I can't bear the boy's discomfort! Also the cat poops numerous times a day whereas he only takes some white rice with cooked fish (mostly). My father is shocked noticing him go poty more than twice. Please please do something to resolve my cat's itchiness.🙂
Thank you for your comment. You can actually increase the strength of erector spinae muscles by simply activating them without even lifting the body and there’s no need to hyperextend and I caution against this with osteoporosis exercises, all the best 🙏
You're fantastic; thank you for this video; however, you won't be able to strengthen your erector muscles unless you raise your back to a higher level.
Any guidance to strengthen 7 month old male cat's erector muscles? We want him to beget asap. His erection is very lower than usual. *URGENT*🙂 The faster and the ampler erection he gets the better.
Hi Michelle, can I add ankle weights for the second exercise? Should I lift my leg as high as possible (without discomfort)? Or keep it fairly low? I guess for the first exercise there's no way to add weights? Thanks very much!

Hi Michelle
Thank you for your video
I have severe osteoporosis dexa scan results-3.9
Last yr I had two severe wedge fractures at T 6/7 not picked up for 5 months when I had a Ct scan on my gallbladder and looking for a stone that had moved
It was this Ct scan that picked up the fractures and also that they had caused kyphosis
The fracture were presant on an X-ray 5 months prior which the doctor failed to see
I was to the pain was all muscular and to carry on as normal
I am now in dreadful pain and I’m now 19 months on and the pain is getting worse
To make matters worse I also have very severe emphysema making excersize very difficult
I can’t even raise my arm fully anymore because I am so out of condition because my breathing stops me from doing everyday
things like dressing bathing
cooking
I have 4 times a day carers
The physio came 3 times and she didn’t come again
She gave me a band to put under my feet and to pull it which really hurts
Heels drops which I do but it’s making no difference to strengthening my calf’s
My skin is just glancing with no muscle
I was told x 5 small squats and basically keep walking around my house as often as I can from room to room
She couldn’t offer me anything eles and told me to have physio at the hospital but I’m still on a very long waiting list and now just getting weaker and weaker and the pain is so much worse
The only relief I get is lay in a recliner position on the sofa with pillows all around my back
Standing I have to lean on my kitchen side after ten min
This does also help with my breathing to open my diaphragm
I really need to strengthen my muscles as I’m getting so weak and unsteady on my feet
Please can you tell me if your excersizes are suitable with have fractures and kyphosis
Thank you and advise will be very much appreciated
You need to see about putting the captions at the top of the screen. They are covering you doing the poses
That’s controlled by TH-cam not video creators.
Thanks again for a simple exercise to add to my regimen, combating osteoporosis.
