The Governor's themes always showed pure dread or caution for what'd happen next. The Pulse? Dread whenever he was around for anybody, even the allies he was supposed to protect. The soundtrack with the secret room and the tanks full of heads (I think it's "The Governor's Collection")? Dread and a bit of sorrow, because you know the man's lost it trying to save the people he was around. This, The Governor Returns? Pure crisis-inducing fear and even more dread, especially because Rick would've been killed in this scene if nobody was nearby, since the entire Prison Group had to deal with *something.* If Michonne hadn't came to Rick's rescue, that'd have been it for him, and likely the entire group. Even if The Governor died after taking Rick's life, the group would be severely crippled and lost like it is now without Rick Grimes. Bear McCreary is a talented artist with what he does, and nothing will ever top The Governor's themes
I love this theme! and for me it's the scariest of the whole series, it's like an unstoppable force, a force of nature is attacking you and you can't do anything against just running.
Negan might have broken him mentally But Philip destroyed Rick physically and has made a large impact to the group that single sway to Hershel’s neck disbanded and separated the group. Negan enslaves Philip is just out for blood
