For me it's the clay. There used to be a weird bug where your sims would just have clay spawn in their inventory and they would play with it ALL the time. Hilarious
i think that was when eco lifestyle came out. it also happened with future cubes. i think it was something to do with the NAPs
I'm STILL dealing with the white cake glitch where any guest that comes over makes white cake...even tho they said they fixed it. At this point, it's iconic and clearly a sims custom that they refuse to let their invisible gods take away. Kind of like British people making tea for guests.
i am wondering f that bug i somehow still active. If you buy a clay or sims get it as a present, they will constantl play with it,so ridiculous
I still get that bug, plus the white cake one. My game doesn't even have the hamburger cake and I can't figure out how or why.
@@zauselleo8051 i think that's just sims being sims. they always want to interact with objects that raise the fun need. if you have a computer on ur lot, any and all sims will want to use it. especially visiting neighbors.

You can size up or size down any object in the game. So if something is too small, make it physically bigger! If something is too big, size it down. Already in the game. :)

My items I'd never forget (aside from some you already mentioned)
- the nude gnome that ALWAYS shows up for Harvestfest in my games. I have yet to have a Harvestfest without that gnome
- the green kids bed with the blue duvet with a star on it. Iconic
- the porcelain pig
- patchy
- the bear costume in cas that makes other sims tense from being around you
- the ballpit
- the giant hamster cages in my first pet stuff
- the cute aquarium table in my first pet stuff. I use it so much
- the talking toilet
Ok but the hamster cages ARE realistically sized, hamsters should be in cages that big or bigger

@@Thil no, they’re definitely right. Most people get way too small cages for their hamsters and pet stores sell them without shame. HOWEVER the sims cages are awful for other reasons.

- the minimal wheel
I’m just glad there’s no bars walls, that’s another thing they got right (bars walls are bad cuz the hamster biting it can give them longterm problems ((+it’s annoying)) it’s fine if a cage has a bars roof but the walls should be solid plastic or glass (obviously if the roof isn’t bars it should have holes in it- you know, oxygen and all that)

i remember when i first installed cc and it was some decorative earbuds, and the first thing i read on the loading screen was "i dont want free earbuds" i almost screamed

Yeah mermaids got done so dirty by EA, I would love to see them go back and do an Island Living Refresh like they did with Spa Day to make mermaids what they deserved to be. I want a perk tree like vampires and spell casters, I want more interactions because "ask if mermaid" sucks, a SPECIFIC swimming like/dislike, and so on and so forth

- the awful cheese blond hair colour
- the only blush we had before the mac collab

- the hotdog costume

- the wood wallpaper from eco lifestyle

It's not an item, but the secret 'worlds' I'll probably remember in the future. I built a tangled inspired tower in my sylvan glade and I'll have a sim travel and basically live in there. They're pretty cool to find and I hope they keep adding more.
Where is that?
@madseb There's a tree by the river in the lower neighborhood in Willow Creek, a big old willow tree with its trunk covered in ivy. It's only found there and nowhere else (but you can find it in debug and place it on a regular lot). Click on it and you'll get an interaction to "watch" or "see" or something like that. Do that a couple times and a new interaction will pop up, either "water" or "talk to", I don't remember which one comes first. Do that option a couple times and the other option will appear for you to do a couple times. Once you've finished interacting with the tree its trunk will open to reveal an entrance and your can send your Sim to explore it. A short text adventure like what you get when you use the rocket ship will play for you to guide the Sim forward until you find the hidden lot, it's easy enough but if you fail it's just a matter of trying again, there's no penalty, and once you've successfully navigated you'll have the option to send that Sim to the Sylvan Glade, a secluded little forest that lives and breathes magic, with rare plants and a fishing spot with rare fish, with some hazy fog and a rainbow reflected off the waterfall. It's a lovely little spot, all pink and purple and pastel ✨ If you send another Sim you will have to interact with the tree again (it needs convincing) but you won't have to do the text adventure again.
There's also another beautiful hidden lot, the Forgotten Grotto, that can be accessed by maxing the handiness skill and breaking open a blocked cave tunnel in the topmost neighborhood of Oasis Springs. Break it open and go through another short text adventure and you'll get to a stunning crystal cave with tons of crystal deposits around, and another lake with rare fish, I have the image of a ray of light from an opening in the ceiling reflecting off the lake but it's been a while since i been there so I'm not sure I imagined it but it's a bright place for being underground. I can't decide which place is the most beautiful, the Glade of the Grotto, but they're both underutilized and it's a damn shame.

I think of the Tragic Clown Painting, Heart Bed, Skydiving Machine and the Party Cake Dancers from The Sims 1 as extremely iconic. From the Sims 2, the Eclectic and Enigmatic Energizer, Elixir of Life, and Thinking Cap are standout items.
Oh my gosh. I forgot the skydiving machine! I used to put my Sims in that bad boy all of the time.
Sims 2 money trees are also like 10 times more iconic that other money trees. Visiting sims would always try to steal the harvest. I always had a locked room full of money trees as a kid.

I give my sims the bunny slippers all the time. for every outfit I’m able. I love it.
i used to give my sims bunny slippers all the time before snowy escape, but now i put this no shoes sign in every house because i hate when my sims wear shoes inside and it’s so sad that it affects sleepwear too, so now i don’t do it. i wish you could choose which slippers sims wear in the house cause they always wear those boring snowy escape slippers if you choose “wear slippers” (sorry if i made any mistakes. english is not my first language)

The object I'll always remember from this game is the molding clay. I swear, no matter what I have my sims doing, young or old, regardless of how many things I have to keep them occupied, they always want to play with clay

Honestly, the earbuds from Fitness Stuff. The popups were so annoying and while having a pair is very helpful cause they keep the fun need raised constantly, I did not appreciate the amount of popups that were literally similar to those very annoying ads in mobile games that you keep having to watch. Thank god they fixed that...
Those two pic frames of the apple and pear and the one with the pears are my go-to girls in every. Single. build

1. The hair with shaved part of the head just because little edgy me used it on literally EVERY female sim.
2. Shoes from Journey to Batuu... I don't know what it is... but I use them a lot.

The most iconic thing for me is actually the world willow creek, every time I think about the sims 4, willow creek comed to mind, and also a few others.
Kayla, I am exactly 1 year older than you and absolutely jammed The Sims (1) as a small child. My mum actually introduced it to me when I was about 4 years old. In hindsight, probably not the best parenting on her behalf but here I am, at the age of 23, having no memories of a time before I played The Sims. I would play with my friend when I went over to her house for a sleepover (back when console Sims games were multiplayer) and always had so much fun. I can remember making Sims households that were just children and trying to get by like that, ordering pizza for food because they couldn't cook. Only good memories of The Sims. It was pretty much my entire childhood
Girl I relate so much!! I’m the same age as Kayla and started playing the Sims 1 (entire collection) at 6 years old with my older sister, and played the sims 2 with her and my best friend when she came to my house for sleepovers lol!! I’ve always played on PC, only sims console games I had were on Nintendo DS

Just so you know: I think that the meat-growing thing is inspired by an article about people who were able to grow meat by extracting stem-cells from a cow and letting them grow.
I was 13 when the original Sims came out. I've played all 4. I still play, but not as much. When I do I play for hours 😂 It's really the one and only video game I've ever really played. I'll be a simmer forever!

I put a cat tower in all my builds. I’ve had cats my entire life and my cats love their tower so much I was so excited when I got the cats and dogs pack and it’s cute when my sim cat sits on it.
It also fills up empty space in the house nicely and makes it look more homey

i also love the paranormal couch! that pack has some of my fav items in build (not necessarily gameplay lol). i find myself constantly using it everywhere, i just love it lol
My favorite items that make appearance in almost every build are:
1. The window seats! I love making little reading nooks with those.
2. The Tiny Living furniture, I love the colorful swatches and minimalistic shapes, so lots of my builds have the sofa, dresser, or my absolute favorite, the tiny desk.
3. The two doves wall decor
4. The globe bar, how wasn't that mentioned! I especially enjoy the fact it appears as a regular globe to kids and teens.
5. The Ol' Hickory floor from Pets, I have an unhealthy obsession with it but I think it looks amazing.
I miss the regular standard telescopes we used to have! Wish we had it in Sims 4

@@cocothebrain9955 I'm a pc player, but not big on cc, mods are great and all, but for the players that can't get cc I feel for them.
I have a lot of CAS items that I often use but in regards to building, I, too, adore that paranormal couch with the throw blanket. A lot of my builds look fairly similar cuz I am lazy af but something I always try to fit into my builds is the University shower head thing. I go out of my way to make custom showers because personally I hate ALL of the showers we have (not including the shower/tub combos) so that’s a go to. But I use that one rectangular mirror from Seasons in every build and it’s honestly the only mirror I use cuz it is BEAUTIFUL. That may be my favorite thing from Sims 4 and I know I will mourn it’s loss when Sims 5 finally graces us.
The Hot Dog Suit is the most iconic CAS outfit, hands down.

Video idea: I noticed recently that the "stack of canvases" item has a couple color ways with cool looking houses painted on them. You should try to recreate them!
I like the glowing cube. It's nostalgic, from one of the earlier games, maybe even Sims 1.
Iconic: Blarfy, cheapest chess table, Strangerville's painted lady building set, the pile of bones from JA that they accidentally made collectable, the ball pit, the fully upgraded simray, the "MelApple" painting.
SOOOOOO many things from Get Famous, I've never played with any of the previous sims games so I'm not sure how iconic the celebrity items were but everything being golden, extravagant, the wild colors on the bed, the zebra print everything, the swans, she is the moment.
I really thought the CAS item she was going to mention was the eyeball ring!
Hi simsie just wanted to tell you that you should try the Each room is a different room challenge basically you put every room of the house like a bedroom a kitchen onto a wheel and build a shelf spin the wheel say roll a kitchen But you have chosen the room that you wanted to be the bathroom then you have to fit a kitchen into the size of the bathroom
The future cube and the eyeball ring are the two I think are the most iconic. I love how the future cube was used to tease pack releases and the bug where Sims would have like 50 of them in their inventory. The eyeball rings is simply iconic.

I just love the Lady Mimsy portrait and i use it everytime I Build
These are the ones I find hilarious:
- The awful base game broccoli afro before they thankfully changed it
- The full sized costumes, especially the gnome, raccoon, and all the bears
- The surgery machine ever since it got the t-posing glitch
- The gourmet fruitcake (this is honestly how I found out that a lot of people don't like fruitcake, my family loves it)
- And my problematic fave the erratic trait, it's not an item but I have to hold myself back from giving it to every sim. It can also be really useful for filling their own social or if they only need to kill a few minutes while they're waiting for something
On sims 4 stuff that's just personally iconic:
Pan de muerto. it was a household on the Landgraab mansion lot, with three adults, two toddlers, and Geoffrey trapped in his own little prison. I had my sim make pan de muerto, for the whole family, even the toddlers and Geoffrey. Cue the worst bug I've ever experienced in the Sims. The camera was smoother than ever, but the sims were trashed. A dozen pan de muertos spread across the kitchen and dining room, the toddlers crying and going back and forth from the high chair to the floor without any help from adults, some sims stuck in chairs, others just sliding around. I was stuck in live mode, I couldn't go to options to save or exit the game. I eventually had to accept that there was nothing I could do but force close the game. The game was running smoothly before this, before i made Pan de muerto.
More than four years later, I still will not make pan de muerto. I will never forget.

Every time I hear the story of cow plant names being able to be updated and automatically being named after Kayla, I get teary-eyed. It just makes my heart so happy. 😭❤️🌱
