jeff driskil is one of my favorites…so great
Man.. Andy Martin shreds.. so good
Wonderful band!!!!👍👍👍👍👍
I love watching the band perform back row politics because of what Gordon does after the song is over.
haha i like watching sal react to brian's solo
Killer solo from Driskill
Love the "Bolivia" quote on the bass chair during the intro, smokin'
0:20 "You're my hero!"
Musically, I loved how the band was listening to each other. At the beginning of the trombone solo (Andy Martin?), the microphone mix was such that the trombone was hard to hear at first. And the rhythm section responded accordingly, with everyone drooping out except the bass. That could have been arranged that way, but since they didn't do that right at the beginning of his solo, it made me think that it was a spontaneous thing.
5:02
the lick. :)
Ooo almost. Forgot the last few notes
That andy martin solo!
I can't believe they showed the dancers during the trading 4s
Completely BAD ASS! What else can you say?
*Solos:*
Tenor Sax: Jeff Driskill (2:45)
Tenor Sax: Brian Scanlon (4:11)
Trombone: Andy Martin (5:38)
Piano: Gordon Goodwin (7:04, 8:33)
Drums: Bernie Dresel (8:03)
:D :D :D :D this song is just great. gotta at least go down swinging!
Great GREAT trombone
those trombones in the beginning were smokin'
As far as Disney hiring the dancers, I don't know if that is what is happening or not. I worked there one summer, and I know that there were dancers in this area (Carnation Gardens?) for most of the bands that played. Never occurred to me that they were hired.
I do remember Louie Bellson specifically telling the dancers "this next one is going to be too fast to dance to," then counting it off WAY faster than he'd recorded the number (a Matt Catingub arrangement, if I am recalling correctly).
6:00 Eric Marienthal's nod of approval!
BIG PHACK BAND
And Alex Iles is listed as one of the members, but he's not on the band during this night. Interestingly, Alex was actually in the band I worked in at Disney that summer (1980).
Yeah he left the band after the 3rd record or so
@enzo321 the song is based off of "Sweet Georgia Brown" good ear
Burnin tempo! The flute part is usually played by Sal, I wonder why Jay played it?
they're dancing in front of the band. obstruction ?!
Here I came trying to see Bernie dressel play the shout section too bad he sat out during the hardest fucking part of the song
i look over at andy a couple of times when he's not playing and all i see is him giving the camera an angry glare....
An amazing band, but the dancers get in the way.
wdym they dont even make no sound

I’m pretty sure he meant that the dancers physically get in the way of the Band itself
Bro I’m sure the band wants the dancers up there having a good time lol.
@saxtom1 Huh? They are all about the same age .. do you mean Sal Lozano?
8:34 Sweet Georgia Brown reference?
2:35*
The dancers do conform to "the Disney look" for the most part, which would have been required of all employees. (We had to.) The one thing that might not have been "Disney approved" was the female dancer in the green top. She appeared to be not wearing a bra. That would have been a big no-no at Disney. They were always VERY concerned about the image they were putting out. If she wasn't wearing one, she probably got a reprimand backstage.
No complaints
2:39 the lick
Zips along.
I personally think the dancers add a party like affect!
the rhythm section(except for bass) dropped out before Andy Martin started to play his solo
And?
I wonder if gordon pays loud, obnoxious guys to come and laugh hysterically at all of his shows.....
Those poor dancing couples. They should have warned them beforehand that they were being filmed.
Dancers are LAAAAAAME!!!!
The playing was amazing, the dancers totally sucked. The one couple towards the beginning look like they're being electrocuted.
"Let's bring out dancers, that would be a good idea.." Jeez. We came to hear this phenomenal band, not see dancers.
