@e39source From my understanding To mark the 25th anniversary of BMW Motorsport GmbH, a series of 25 cars were produced as a special edition in late 2009. They were painted in a special colour called "frozen grey metallic", which was Space grey with a special type of matte clear coat that produced a frozen look on the surface. The interior was from BMW Individual, and matched to the paintwork with a combination (bicolor) of black and Silverstone II Merino leather. Early cars had the regular black full leather option (X3SW) and interior trim panels in black piano finish (0XE7). 14 left-hand-drive Anniversary cars (including one touring) and 11 right-hand drive (all were saloon) were produced. Most LHD Anniversary cars were sold to Germany with eight examples, followed by Brazil with five. The only anniversary touring was delivered to Switzerland and the right-hand drive cars were distributed in ten examples to Great Britain and one to Australia. Also the door sills had the badging "M5 25 Anniversary". I own a 2009 M5 E60 and have almost every option this vehicle has minus the heated rear seats, soft close and heads up display. I was hoping to see something special on this car that mine didn't have and realized hey it's converted into a manual that's something rare 🤣.
The mirrors, and the colors are the only difference I can see and find also. Beautiful car and that manual for an 2010 anniversary edition will make that thing worth way more than an smg any year car.. 👍
Beautiful paint, would have liked to see the metallic fleck. I have the 06 e60 m5 S85 smg in Silver Grey . Fun car and the engine sound never gets old.
I just bought a 2010 535xi 6-speed manual from Copart and it hasthat same color interior. I dont have the AC on the seats, nor the MDM button-mine is a dsc- and Im sure I missed something else. Its got a bucket load of electrical problems and I just had a new clutch installed. I'm tempted to sell it but I'd lose a ton of money on it since it will be a salvage title once I get it inspected etc. That M5 is gorgeous though
This is NOT a 25 Jahre M5. Just a 2010 Frozen Grey. Research will show the 25 Jahre M5’s were Euro-Spec only. I thought this was a federalized euro car when you started the video, but when you showed the interior it was a dead giveaway this is not a 25J. Research will show you the many differences between this car and a real 25J. Seats are black with white center, black headliner, 25J door sills, etc. Once you mentioned that the owner had a metallic white one with the sequential vin I knew exactly what car this was. There are pictures of both cars together brand new during delivery on M5Board. Definitely not 25 Jahre, just two BMW Individual 2010 M5’s.
The white car is Brilliant White, just 2 were ever made in that color. And looking back at the Team Speed / M5board post appears that it got the 25J interior!
I agree. This isn't a 25 Jahre edition. I believe they exclusively came with the 167 M style alloy wheels and 25th Jahre decals on the interior. Still a lovely car 👌🏽

The USB port in the glove box is for the hard drive that the CIC uses, you can plug in a flash drive to download music, that’s also the port you use to install updates to the system as well

Hey Ryan, I can'r think of any reasonable excuses to why I can't drive a vehicle with a manual gearbox, other than my parents' driving only cars with automatic transmissions, hence never getting the opportunity to learn how to drive a stick at all. This leads to my question regarding the possible different transmission options for a E39 M5 (or any other BMW that retrofitted a S62 engine, for ex. E38 7-Series) that has a S62 engine powering the chassis. I believe the ZF 5HP24 auto steptronic transmission retrofit has been attempted, but due to exorbitant cost overruns and communication failure between the transmission and the DME, the 5-speed auto from ZF was not going to ever be an option. But my question to you Ryan is, could you possibly retrofit the SMG-II automated manual transmission or the dual-clutch transmission (DCT) to the S62 engine? I think it would be possible because both the SMG-II and the regular 6-speed manual share the same Getrag Type-D 6 speed transmission with each other, with the exception of the SMG-II having a SMG pump strapped to it and it having only two pedals similar to an automatic car, whilst the traditional 6-speed manual has 3 pedals of course. And I wanted to share this link in regards to a possible S62 and DCT retrofit, by which a company called PMC Motorsports that actually manufactures an adapter that would allow the DCT transmission to perfectly bolt to the S62 engine: pmcmotorsport-shop.com/product-eng-3220-Adapter-Kit-BMW-M60-M62-BMW-DCT-DKG-Getrag-GS7D36SG-Inline-six-H.html. So I guess if that adapter works without any flaws, you would only need to work out any communication software between the engine and transmission that might require a custom, non-OEM DME. What are your thoughts Ryan, do you think any of these two gearbox options might work for those who are 6-speed manual challenged?
In theory, it would absolutely be possible to use the SMG-II or a custom DCT/adapter plate setup- mechanically. The problem would all come down to electronics, like DME/EGS communication. It would be about a million times easier to simply learn how to drive manual.
Cool car Ryan thanks for sharing. I quite like this flat silver type color, usually I dislike the matte paint jobs but this is perfect.
