- Because of an issue in Qualifying we had to start 48th and last on the grid. However our strategy and pace in the race was amazing and we managed to fight our way into the top 20 with one hour to go. Join me for the final stint of the race as I try to make up some more positions!

I think that was a good move on the Bentley driver, you made the corner before he had time to go through, go around wide or cut back, he was caught napping a little but I dont think you were too far back for a fair move.

Absolutely Stella stint , instinctive "sending it" the last overtake was clean n fair, he was out driven. As for the bump into the lambo , definitely a 5 second penalty and SR down !! 😂😂. Keep up the excellent productions 👌

David, when you start racing on Assetto Corsa Competizione, look for AFRT servers. You will be very well received and, hopefully, find some close competition.
The last dive: on one hand it was from far back, but on the other it was pretty drama-less. That tells me that the Bentley driver just left waaaaay too much space. He could’ve and should’ve defended, instead he brakes early, leaves a football field of space and complains when overtaken...
the first dive: that was risky tbh, you’ve had a lot of luck that the guy in front saw it coming and I wouldn’t blame him if he didn’t. Done a couple of these moves in SimRacing and learned that they do not always go smoothly and the consequences are sometimes very unpleasant.
Finding both of these moves could have ended in a racing incident. Cars infront are entitled to chose the line they want unless a car has pulled up next to them. Without overlap it is called a divebomb and what happens next is pretty open...

Nicely done, nice job pushing that Ferrari, regarding the last overtake is hard to judge sometimes, happens a lot to me im sim racing, the guy head just brakes a lot sooner them i and most of the times when im pretty close to the end of race i take the risk and go for the move, i think it was fair game, maybe not for the guy that was overtaked, but if he was soo worry with that he should by that time see that you were braking way later them him, that said he should had defended if it was that important, well if his head and your a bit faster it his job to defend and yours to atack ! 😁
It was all good after we cleared things up. It was just a bit of confusion from both sides I think.

I think this is a good example of what a good sinc beteen driver and car can result, despite of car setup influence, if you were not 100% sinc with the car you might been close of that, but in my opinion a perfect sinc beteen driver and car it´s also related with a perfect setup of the car. For me it´s the most rewarding and beautiful thing about being a professional racing driver...

That Bentley driver just seems pathetic complaining about that last pass. If David went door handle to door handle from that far back then yes, but he hugged the inside so tightly so he could be seen. Brave and clean pass.

The last guy you passed was probably pissed off because you overtook him in the last 2 laps. Same as Verstappen did on Leclerc at the Red Bull Ring, which Leclerc didnt like at all haha

6:40 I love how you spoke about simracing and that it helped you. What surprised me though is that you never drove this circuit until you tried on Gran Turismo in 2016. For one I know and drive this circuit since 2002. Its kinda funny. Great driving and enjoying the narration!

On another note, that last move you made on the Bentley was on the limit, did you receive any notice about it?
No I didn’t receive anything, that move is quite common because you can take multiple lines into that corner. Also you’re going so slow at the apex that it makes it possible for both drivers to avoid contact. It was all good mate 👍
Does it only look like that due to camview or do you really carry about 3-5kph more into the corner compared to the Porsche, the Aston and the Honda ?
Looked like you were gaining a nice meter or 3 right after the initial turn in phase, literally cruising up to the frontrunners … Oo

Yea for some reason we had much better mid-corner to apex rolling speed. It's not always like that but in Silverstone it was crazy how much faster our car was in that phase of the corner.
It‘s a pity you couldn‘t use the 488 evo earlier.
wtf, this guy was playing that arcade game GT instead of something more realistic with a laser-scanned Silverstone and a 488 GT3 car called Assetto Corsa.

Dude, dont underestimate ur self! U ways of driving and attacking the corners is absolute master driver stuff. I think ur driving like the guys in the top3! Over time will get better and better and have way more consistance!

You were flying, that move looked legit to me but i guess he didn't like being overtook, lucky it wasn't GTS or they may have punted you off, at least in RL that's less likely to happen.
We cleared it up in the end, it was a misunderstanding I think
Superb again - great drive and a great video. One question if I may, what Type Pressures do you run - in ACC, it seems that the sweet spot is around 28psi give or take a bit. When you're doing long stints that go from an afternoon to an evening, do you slightly over pressure so that when it cools, you still fall into the lower end of the sweet spot?
Pirelli recommend 1.7-1.85 bar pressure

As a huge simracing and Blancpain fan myself it's so cool to see the real deal from the onboards on your channel. I never had the opportunity to do real life racing but I always practiced the tracks and tried to learn them myself on PC as best I could. And it's SO satisfying to see you taking exactly the same lines and use the same braking points as I do in ACC. I know it's probably still comparing apples and bananas but this is as close as I can get, and it feels damn good to see the real blancpain heros do the same things in reality. Thanks for doing these commentaries, the insights are amazing.

Well David for that driver who was not impressed by your takeover is like Napoleon saying he was not impressed with Wellingtons victory at Waterloo. Napoleon once stated that Wellington basically did not follow the rules of warfare at that time and took a major risk in winning. Without risking anything in life you have nothing ever to lean on and learn from. Keep up the great art of driving fast and informing the public of your own thoughts and actions with these informative videos.

Good question, it’s not easy, you have about 3 corners to wake up but you do as much mental prep in the pits as possible so you’re ready when you’re in the car.

Great driving here, it´s nice you actually comparing GT5 track accuracy to real life. One thing I´d like to ask. What´s your thoughts about the thumb position in Gt sport? Is it relevant? It´s hard to imagine you are holding your wheel in real life like that. Thanks for your hard work.
Some people do hold the wheel life that, especially Japanese drivers :) I prefer a more classical grip position though
