    Awesome work!! Thanks so much. Its so hard finding good simple videos like this. Do you have one on macros? And setting a media player to a specific camera? I want to do a virtual studio set. Thanks dude!

    Wow i didnt think you could use the DSk for anything but the mediaplayer. This basically means you can have 2 DVEs with the dsk mask aswell as a mediaplayer background or hyperdeck stream functionality.
    I onmy figured out the side by side interview you showed, basically a background and a foreground and lower thirds.

    Awesome! Thanks so much! 🙏 I‘d LOVE to see you taking this to the next level and showing us how we could prepare more scenes for more use cases: the guest fullscreen, the host fullscreen, the guest shows his desktop (fullscreen, or with the guest overlayed in small), the host shows his desktop or his iPhone or iPad screen (could be done via desktop sharing using QuickTime Player on Mac), etc.
    But I guess that‘s too tricky and needs more sophisticated hardware setup or everything done with OBS alone (which makes my 2020 iMac i9‘s fans spin up).

    I was questioning myself if what I do was considered professional, but it appears my thought process wasnt so bad afterall. :D
    Immediatly ordered the Extreme afterwards though because I ordered the Mini before they officially announced the Extreme and it's got no ETA on its arrival. Sadge

    Hello !
    I just realized : does it mean you can display 3 HDMI sources simulaneously on screen ? (I Tought Atem mini extreme was needed)
    Then I guess it's possible to display these 3 things simultaneously :
    1) from HDMI 1 : XBOX Game
    2) from HDMI 2 : OBS with chroma key for "follow./sub alerts/live chat" (upstreamkey 1)
    3) from HDMI 3 : DSLR Cam in the bottom corner (downstream key)
    It seems like a definitive alternative to dual pc streaming on Twitch. This amazing video seems to confirm it.

    • @CreateConsumeRepeat
      @CreateConsumeRepeat  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They way I have it setup is Xbox in hdmi 1. PIP video from HDMI 2 via chroma upstream key. And OBS coming in via the downstream key but you can only do black or white key. Make sense?

    Hey man! I LOVE your tutorials. Started following you about a month ago and have dove deep into the streamdeck / companion workflow haha ... question on this setup in this tutorial! I'm familiar with this but I've been wondering if its possible to use a stinger transition in order to give 4-6 seconds for the non keyed source time to move to the left for the atem mini pro workaround. Essentially I'm thinking it MIGHT be doable with a combination of Macro's and streamdeck / companion stacked actions that maybe delay source changes during the stinger etc. I know thats probably super niche but I'd love to see if you could do it! hopefully that all made sense and thanks so much for these vids once again!

    • @CreateConsumeRepeat
      @CreateConsumeRepeat  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not niche at all. I have been thinking of a solution for the problem and the complicated part is playing a stinger in OBS then cutting to a new OBS animated background scene. The minute you cut to the new scene it will show up on screen since we are using both the upstream for the PIP and downstream for background graphic. Let me play with it and if I come up with a solve I will share.
      PS Thanks for watching and the sub.

  • @jmpjexplique
    @jmpjexplique 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks again for these more than useful tips.
    OBS seems to be the best workaround for animated background.
    Do you think it's possible to use OBS to display Twitch live chat while streaming with Atem Mini too ?
    I mean : my intuition is Obs could run on a Laptop and display everything an atem mini can't (video, Chat, follow/subs alerts/etc.) but could macros (on a StreamDeck) drive OBS and the Atem with a single button ?

    • @CreateConsumeRepeat
      @CreateConsumeRepeat  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a video that shows how you can use the stream deck to control the ATEM and OBS with the touch of a button. As for getting twitch live chat integrated into your broadcast. Haven’t tried it yet but I am almost certain it can be done.

    • @RudyCaseres
      @RudyCaseres 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, just add your alert box in OBS with a green Color Source underneath (for keying) and use Full Screen Window Projector to the Atem Mini. Then add your computer running OBS as the downstream key and it should work fine.

  • @gerardobello1747
    @gerardobello1747 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Man this is really cool. Thank you. So, can I have 2 separate settings tat I can switch in between? For example, I’m doing podcast at work. I have the host and the speaker wish I switch in between split screen to have both (because Covid they can’t be close) and when the host doesn’t need to be there I switch to the speaker full screen. So again, I can have my motion background set up for the two of them and ... can I have something similar to switch when I need the speaker in full screen? You know, Just to maintain the same concept. Thanks again!

    • @CreateConsumeRepeat
      @CreateConsumeRepeat  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Short answer, yes. You can switch the host camera by selecting a different HDMI input in the programs section. You will just need that guest to shift to the right. If you want to change the guest camera it’s slightly more complicated since you are changing the HDMI input from the Upstream Key > DVE tab > fill source drop down. The good news is that guest doesn’t have to shift to the right. Now, if you want the overlay graphics to change, it is more complicated since you will need to create macros on the ATEM and streamDeck. Along with installing the companion app so you can trigger everything with one button press. I think the best solve is just don’t include names and titles, justa dope background and switch back and forth as I mentioned in the beginning. Hope that helps.

    • @gerardobello1747

      @@CreateConsumeRepeat thank you! Yes I was thinking to use macros to achieve that. Wish I need to learn because I never played with them before. I ordered the Atem Extreme. Do I you think that I will need the stream deck with it? I will find more info about this stream deck. Thanks!!!

    • @CreateConsumeRepeat
      @CreateConsumeRepeat  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you are picking up the extreme this tutorial may not be that useful since the extreme has way better keying capabilities. Conducting a 1 on 1 or 4 person interview should be a breeze. As for learning about macros or the stream deck, check out my other videos. They will help you make that decision.

    • @CreateConsumeRepeat
      @CreateConsumeRepeat  ปีที่แล้ว

      Atem Mini Pro is a hardware based solution with a touch interface. All the video encoding happens on the ATEM as opposed to the computer. As for the touch interface, you can cut to cameras with your hands instead of relying on a mouse. Obviously this is an over simplification. At the end of the day it’s up to you to decide what works best for your workflow. PS Thanks for the compliment.

    Oh! Question! What, if I want (as the host) be visible in my (left) box AND want to apply a green screen effect? That's not possible with the ATEM Mini Pro, right? Because we have only one Upstream Key and need this for the DVE so we can't use it for the Chroma key, right? Any workaround? Any other solution? Or what hardware would I need? Would an ATEM Mini Extreme help here?
