    My husband and I are headed to the Canadian Rockies for a couple of weeks this summer. I am excited to take along my sketchbook while he will be indulging his photography hobby. I find myself slightly daunted by the scope and scale of, say, the classic shots of Lake Louise. So I've been practicing getting my perspective down. And then along comes one of your vids on mountains and landscapes, that I have no idea how I've missed in all the time of following your tutorials, and the giant *click* of comprehension happens while I watch your hand sorting it all out. Thanks, Alphonso!

    As usual, a wonderful and clear detailed explanation ! You are such an amazing teacher ! I wonder how you would explain the ink sketching of realistic rolling hills... That would be such a great idea for a futur video 🙏. By the way, I love your book ! Great support, in addition to your videos ! Thank you so much for your time and dedication 🙏

    Alphonso, I have no idea where to start, if I truly get started it would take pages! You are absolutely, without a doubt WONDERFUL. I have gone from can't draw a lick, to laughing with outlandish joy at what I have learned and practice from you. Am I Monet yet, LOL, no! don't expect I will ever be. But, what I have accomplished is Monet for me. Why you do this for free I don't know, but I would gladly pay for it. I already have paid for lessons on the web, and use the free your tube artist, but I have soared beyond my wildest exceptions with your videos. This has to be a God thing for you and I truly appreciate it. But think about making a manuel. Thanks, thanks, thanks, By the way I am a senior citizen :)

    I love your drawing style i have been studying your tutorials for like 1 month and my drawing has improved a lot from your tips and tricks. Could you make a video on drawing robots or complex parts if you want, i know it is not your sort of stuff (maybe, i am assuming is not) but i think it would be a fresh take on your videos. I make some abstract doodles and i would like to see the patterns and way you do it. Your daughter at the sounds sooooo cute.

    lol Awesome ending with the kids voice :) Thx for my weekend fix Alphonso!!! Planes man Planes whenever you get a chance. Is that connected to still having problems with shading and trying to make things look more believable when drawing from the imagination? Probly not much you can help me with anymore I just need to practice more lol just alot of times I dont know what to draw and drawing still life objects is so boring compared to whats in my head :)

    • @alphonsodunn
      @alphonsodunn  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      what I think you may not fully understand is you don't yet realize that you have to draw from life enough first to learned to truly draw whats in your head...why? Because whats in your head, no matter how crazy it is, is based on and related to what we see in the world in some way..you will either be adding stuff, taking away stuff, modifying stuff or all three at once...but you whats in your head will always be based on reality...the more you know reality the more you can manipulate it at will my friend, please remember that...So it goes right back to the basics :-)

    • @skinz1234
      @skinz1234 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      thanks man :) It must be the motivation to do the basic stuff Im lacking. I see all these guys doing awesome painting on youtube and see things in my head but feel like they are so far out of reach!!! But what do you draw when you can't think of nothing basic thats fun? Did you have days like this cause it seems you can draw anything and make it fun so how did you get past the boring learning part?
      Would you be willing to do exercise vids or do you consider yours already to be exactly that or am I asking too much and just bugging!? :)
      O HAVE GOOD SLIDE INTO THE NEW YEAR AND THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR HELPING THIS YEAR BE BETTER THAN IT WOULDA BEEN!!!!!!! ALPHONSO YOU ROCK AND R DA MAN!!!! 8o)))))))))

    • @alphonsodunn
      @alphonsodunn  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Listen, take the word "fun" out of your vocab for now lol.. if the artists of old heard you say that they would probably be upset...When you sign up for the military, do you start fly planes on day 1? if you want to be a surgeon do you start dissecting cadavers on day 1? if you want to be a lawyer do you start arguing on day 1? think of it as a duty. you do what you HAVE to until you can do what you WANT. no simpler than that

    • @alphonsodunn
      @alphonsodunn  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      what you should ask yourself is "how can i be more patient with myself?" You have to respect the craft..And the craft requires discipline, patience, determination, and consistent hard work. Theres no going around it
