  • In this video I describe the technique that I use to burn or torch wood for a rustic look on any DIY project, including tips and tricks on like the best wood type to use and safety. I use this technique to not only add character to projects like flags and crosses, but also as a beautiful alternative finish for furniture or any project that doesn't require any stain, paint, or dye. I have several videos on how to build patriotic woodworking projects incorporating the American flag, including concealment boxes, cabinets, and furniture on my channel, which I will link to below as they come out. There will be more to follow as the channel matures, so be sure to subscribe so that you will be notified as the videos are released.

      @@maverickdesignswoodworking Just a quick note: that torch doesn't seem to be available any longer. Can you recommend another?

      @@Oakydokes Sorry, I don't know how this message got by me, but in case you're still looking for a torch, it is available, you just have to click on "see all buying options" on the right side of the screen. I bought this one from Home Depot myself, so you should be able to get it there as well, but using the link does help to support the channel.

    From what I gathered the nozzles, the basic ones only work upward, where as like the T8000 work both directions, so it maybe just be something to do with that… I’ve been looking at a couple different ones trying to figure out difference and that’s only thing I noticed on packaging was direction of use.

      Yeah, I couldn't remember what it was called. I've always just used the propane. Thanks for the info.

      That's pretty much exactly what I do when I'm going for more of a shou sugi ban type finish, but my intent here is intentionally different.

    How much do you get for the flag coat rack?

      I haven't made one of those in a while, but I think I sold the last one for around 185.

    Beautiful. Can you post a link where we can purchase one of these?

      Hi Julie. I'm not not sure which specific item you're referring to. Woodworking is a part time thing for me currently, and local sales keep me so busy that I've never had the need to advertise or sell outside my local market. But if you want, email me at maverick.designs@yahoo.com, let me know what you're interested in, and we'll work out a way to get you what you want.

    1:29 will you be doing a build video with dimensions for the American flag coat rack?

    • @maverickdesignswoodworking
      @maverickdesignswoodworking  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, sir! I already filmed the build video for it a while ago, it's just waiting for editing. I'm working on that and 2 others right now. I will try to get it out in the next couple of weeks. My goal is to also have plans ready for it on my website as well.

      I'm sorry you feel that way. This was one of my first videos when I was still trying to figure all this out, and I've made significant adjustments since then, but I also have a lot of viewers who like to have more detail and info. I'll continue to improve as I go, but it's impossible to please everyone. Thanks for watching.
