Zzz Aaa you only unleash full charge rend on bosses for last hit, otherwise you deplete your stamina. Spamming minimum charge rend is unstoppable. It goes through shields. Whirl is good for defense tho; bandit mobs that try to blind side you. I beat detlaff with like 7-8 rends in total on death march(all three forms) whirl drains your stamina way faster. Try building for rend and let me know what you think. I can tell you my build if ur interested.

People never seem to credit this game for its incredibly good sound work! The ambient sound effects during these cutscenes are fantastic. The way the armour sounds.
I love how his attitude towards you depends on whether you're sincere with him or not. If you say Ciri's not with you, he clearly gets angry and implies he'll kill you both, but if you tell him the truth, he disregards you saying he'll never get her, and commends how bravely you fought to the bitter end in Kaer Morhen, and how he trusts this time will be no different. He was the enemy, but an honourable one. I love honourable enemies that don't degrade their foes and commend their efforts instead.
I like how the game just skips to the cutscene even before the health bar empty's. It's like, "Ok we gotta stop this. Geralt's just torturing to dude at this point."
I beat imlerith on blood and broken bones difficulty. He took me a few times to kill but definitely one of the most difficult and epic boss fight I've ever had in a video game.
Almost done with blood and wine and I’m gonna do both alternative endings where I have the good and bad ending. Yes yes yes, there is a third very bad ending. But this is my favorite franchise second to Halo. Halo will always be #1 to me.
I thought this was going to be a generic boss fight but you used a genuinely effective technique, I acc made me say "wow" lol, I've used that attack before but I didn't realise it could be used so well that was brilliant.
I love how Geralt uses igni to cook him in his armor. Wish this would've been used for combat against armored enemies. I'd pay to see their armor glow orange as you cook them with a stream of fire or if you could use aard to blow pieces of armor away.
I remember doing this fight for the first time on DM and thinking how hard it was, I was constantly having no health. I did it first time but thought to myself after that I wouldn't wanna do that again. Am playing through the game again now and your little whirl technique at the end is awesome, gunna use that me thinks.
Man he did not even drop his shield in this video nice one man and yeah whirl was super effective although Death March Breaks the combat for me on Broken Swords i had to fight him twice because i did not knew his moveset

His second phase is a pain to deal with, I can only get so many hits in before he runs away and attacks me from behind. It's a lot faster if I had the wolven armor and swords with runes equipped instead. I cut like 20 seconds out of this fight. Fastest I've ever been able to beat him is in 30 seconds flat.
when I played this part I chose some dialogue then Imlerith gets up puts his helmet on without saying anything 2:37 and the sound effects just blue my mind. was epic.

He's at level 30 and he has unlocked probably a frenzy or some other special ability that he used towards the end. I faced him at level 28 with one level lesser gear and had to dance around him a lot to avoid damage. finished in like 10 minutes with 2 retries. His attacks are damn strong at Death March with Enemy Upscaling on.
It could be because this is version 1.0 and there were no patches back in June 2015. The constant patches in this game seem to have made him a lot stronger from what I've been reading.
interesting build. i am aiming for a slightly diferent one. a small changes in signs, i add igni to reduce amor und throw the second axii ability away. i also was suggesting less abilities in the fight tree, instead using cat school,focus and vitality. but the damage output is great. but i am just in the beginning and level 13. the beginning on death march was freaking hard, the shriek with level 8 and level 1 swords a fight i had to get my movements right to perfection. but seeing this build gets me caught up with the ability whirl. i have also to look up,what skills you chose, i use fast attack and maxed the first two abilities already but chose top put 3 points into the first ability on the right side where you maxed the two skilly beyond. ill surely have to try and respec at some time, because i also spend a pint in the regaining healt ability an the beginning, beacause it was really hard and no food and money all the way. but now at level 13 it feels quite good. i am also aiming for the cat school set maxed out. so this is a damage dealer/sign build with some defense skills in the fighting tree. just like yours. i will see what happens when i am at this point in the game. :)

I had my Igni maxed for this fight. I’m surprised he even had a head left, considering I have the melt armor skill.
Me too, plus roughly 71% sign intensity bonus. Didn't really get to use though, because this guy has Yhorm's Greatshield from DS3.
Geralt just went full Jedi on him. Anakin Skywalker would be proud.
