I dunno.... I know the larger version will scratch the itch for many riders, but I'm just not feelin' it. The single cylinder 350 took some time to get used to, coming from 1500 - 1800 CC I've been riding for the last 20 years. Less HP, less torque, BY FAR, but ooooh, what a sweet, relaxed ride the Classic 350 offers! I have swung completely to the small bike mind-set, and aesthetically speaking, for me, the 350 elicits a more emotional response than does this larger version. I have no intention to go heavier, or faster. Been there; done that. I'll continue to enjoy my rides at a relaxed pace on back roads that aren't as heavily traveled as the expressways. As for the fans of this model, isn't it great that Royal Enfield continues to knock it out of the park with their offerings? Pick your favorite motor, pair it with your preferred riding style, then pick your favorite color scheme for that model, and "voila!!
Yeah. I've been saying for a while to friends and family that I think the new 650 will be beautiful and sell really well but the 350 will retain it's deserved honours and remain the purists choice. The 350 is the once in a generation genius bike that goes on to be a legend,
Here owner of 650 twins shifted to 650 twins before I had standard 350 uce i still miss that lazy thump while riding 650,you said it all what i was feeling from last 2 years, anyways cheers 🍻
I wanted the classic 350 but as a large man, I was fearful of maintaining highway speeds, attempting hills, or riding into a headwind. This 650 is perfect for me, and I'm glad I saved my money because I'm ordering one as soon as they're available in Canada. The extra curb weight doesn't bother me, as I'm not looking to race, or ride fast, I just want to pass when I need to, accelerate on major onramps, tackle hills without being hit from behind, and face the wind without straining the engine. I'm so excited for the spring riding season now.
Will be interesting to see how this bike fares in the market, I think the classic 350 sells well because it is cheap, has a simple single cylinder and can be used everyday like a workhorse, this being the expensive premium motorcycle it is and because of the 50 kg more that it is dragging along, might not be intended for use in the same way as a classic 350. This is for the very niche buyer who uses classic 350 as a recreational motorcycle but wants more power. Outside of that the only way people are going to buy this, is, as an alternative to super meteor if it ends up having better suspension. But that's just for the consumer in India, might be a different story overseas.
The Classic 650 is a completely different motorcycle compared to the Classic 350. It is a lifestyle product meant for weekend joyrides, although you can tour on it.
The motorcycle will capture the hearts of several Classic lovers, and we all know how well RE's 650 is! Bikewale, you've got a good presenter, don't lose him. Nicely presented!
Sorry just not feeling it. I got off an '06 CBR1000RR onto a '22 Classic 350. What a polar opposite that was. But as I've put almost 5000 miles on it here on the streets of Southern California I have become a huge fan of the Single. I have put thousands into mods to get it to peak performance while keeping the 50's aesthetic and get so much attention where ever I ride. I was really hoping for a J-Series 500. I guess since my racing days in the early 90's buying my Honda Ascot 500 single race bike I've secretly been a Thumper guy. My take on RE at this point is this - the Himalayan, Interceptor and Conti GT were ground breaking machines and set the whole industry on it's ear. Then the Super Meteor was that again with a newly designed chassis and suspension. But since then it seems RE is just playing dress up. I really dig how RE is going forward and I beleive is the most exciting manufacturer of the 2020's but I don't feel they hit the mark with this one.
I still think that 500 CC modern engine should comeback. We know RE for 350 and 500 for a very long time. I think thumpy standard bullet and classic 500 should come back.
If RE launches 500cc then It will launch in 500cc J series engine same with single cylinder with more power and not the UCE engine and will look same as 350cc j series model.
It's nice but my battle green Classic 500 is all I need in a vintage looking motorcycle. For sideroads and sub 60 mph cruising, the Classic 500 is superb. Anything beyond that, I want wind protection and more comfort and my BMW R1200RT has that covered. The RE line of motorcycles is simply amazing and the value/cost ratio is hard to beat.
I really don't know what's the point of making so many 650 bikes with minimal changes. Super meteor 650, continental gt 650 and may be classic 650 and Himalayan 650. There was no need for bikes like bear 650, shotgun 650. And if there is shotgun 650 then no need for classic 650. Better add kick and functional spring below seat and may be a better thumpy exhaust sound.
@@arun37625 bro bear 650 is a scrambler. It can do some mild offroad. Do you think GT can do offroad? Naa. Classic 650 is a different motorcycle at all and definitely love it. Lower the rear fender and rear seat of the classic 650 with a slightly taller handlebar, you might like it more.

I like the look of the Class and the Meteor but much prefer the seating position and mid controls of the shogun to the forward controls - much prefer to be leaning just a little over the front of the bike.
The sprung classic 500 seat should be a option. The tubless spoke rims from the hymalain should have been standard on this bike. Other than that it really looks like a winner.

Looks promising... when you say stiffer suspension.... Review on indian roads will be very important for indian buyers. Good job bikewale.. awaiting to ride it soon...
I was hoping that this motorcycle was based on the chassis of the Conti/INT rather than the SM650/SG650. The stiff suspension, the lower ground clearance would be ideal for first world countries but not for the home country. 243 KGS is just too much (I own an Interceptor 2023) and at this point the BSA Gold Star makes more sense since it has nearly the same looks and same power but is about 43 kgs lighter (If only the service and spare parts weren't a nightmare)
Agreed. Also, @7:20, it is grammatically appropriate to say “handles corners VERY well” instead of “handles corners TOO well” because the word “too” is used to convey a sense of negativity or doubt. I hope the presenter will take this as a benevolent corrigendum and improve his presentation in the future. Nonetheless, this was a good presentation.
@BikeWaleOfficial No I am pretty sure. I don't want anything which is beyond 220 kgs. Power to weight ratio takes a big hit. I would anyday go for Bear 650 but what I am waiting for is 750 engine. Do you have any news about it? When can we expect it roughly?
I had to take a second look at you guys when I saw you driving past over the summer. Nice to see you driving the roads I go on regularly. Also using Beamish Museum as the backdrop was perfect. I’m looking forward to seeing classic 650 in the flesh.
I don't understand the hate for these motorcycles. These are probably most beautiful bikes i have laid my eyes on and that is coming from someone who prefers sports naked over anything else. I'd say RE is trying to capture the imagination of all kinds of motorcycle riders. Regarding the weight, have you looked at how heavy the Harley cruisers are. Sure they make slightly more power but the weight is also more compared to RE's.

I have been looking forward to the Classic 650 for years. Instead they released the Super Meteor. Then they turned the Super Meteor into the Shotgun. And now they have combined the bits and pieces to make this. Instead of creating a Classic from the same drawing board of the 500 and 350 we have this hodgepodge of parts - wrong seat, wrong handlebar clamp, wrong side panels, wrong rear fender, wrong ground clearance, wrong weight. And no Signals edition either! I was hoping this would be “the one” but I’ll stick with my Interceptor.
This Classic 650 looks are totally amazing... It could easily beat the segment in its looks.. But I think it may not.. Because just one thing is missing.. Its big tyres.. See the rear mudguard is beautifully big enough but the tyre is not complement enough... Tyre not matching the big mudguard.. Just fulfill the tyre segment with big wide tyres in both front and rear.. Like Harley Davidson does to its bikes... Then it surely the complete package from GREAT ROYAL ENFIELD❤
The 154mm ground clearance is just sad. Hope they really somehow increase it around 170mm! I have been waiting for this bike for a long time with high hopes...
@@RevsAndWheels People have been living with the RE Thunderbird with the 135mm of ground clearance for decades now. This one at least has 154mm of ground clearance. Expecting RE to change it on a production bike is wishful thinking.
@brendonfernandes2877 yeah they have been living but not as peacefully as the new classic with 170mm of ground clearance. With 170mm, people won't have to worry about scraping but with 135 or 154mm, they (at least I) would be in constant worry of scraping the bike
@@RevsAndWheels Valid point. Not denying that more ground clearance would be good but do remember that the 650 series are made for the international markets and not for Indian conditions. There is little to worry about on proper roads abroad. It's an issue only on Indian roads which are bad.
Too bad it looses almost everything that characterize the Classic. I own an interceptor and had a classic 350 before, i still remember how good and satisfying that little engine was , and how incredibly good the bike was off-road. People who are not into royal Enfield history and older motorcycles will think the classic 350 is just the downsized version of the 650 , like in every other brand, and maybe it will loose importance and the "pure riding" royal Enfield used to sell
This is a Enfield I fancy....... I would add a 825 cc big bore kit with stock cams for maximum torque (I have a love of blowing of 4 cylinders bikes) and just cruising around ,,King of the block .... All the action happens around 30/60mph for the rest "Sorry but I own you" cheers guys
Very clever, Royal Enfield has reused the current 650 bike parts to create a new bike. Saves on manufacturing costs. Nice bike but I'll stick to my Shotgun 650 in a single seat mode....
Hearing an Indian motorcyclist describe riding on UK roads is like hearing old Roman accounts of visits to other cultures, it's so interesting hearing familiar things described in an unfamiliar way. On the bike - to me the Interceptor feels a bit "skinny" and I find the foot position strange - my toes rub the engine casing when I brake or shift. I'm interested to see if the ergonimics of the Bear 650 or Classic 650 work better for me!

The wheels should have been bigger, especially the rear one so that the rear fender would look much better integrated.
160+
Just wow❤
👍🏼
Waiting for bullet 650....that will be my upgrade frim 500 to 650❤❤
Okay 👍🏼
This colour is best to me ❤
Any information on the cross spokes for classic 650
Not happening for the Classic 650.
Im waiting for Bullet 650🔥
I really like the looks of it. RE have come on leaps and bounds in the last few years.
This is what all classic fan waiting for ❤
Too bad it looses almost everything that characterize the Classic.
They really killed the instrument cluster of interceptor for that gimmicky screen
What a mammoth 🦣. Absolutely Gorgeous 🥰
Looks beautiful in person.
It looks absolutely Stunning!
PS: Im not a very Classic Guy, More of a Scrambler and Cafe Racer guy.
But this is a Bigass Head Turner!
It does look nice.
What about suspension? As horrible as SM650 or there is improvement ?
Most important question
Needs a kickstarter to secure a classic look
The re is lauded for the same look of the Jawa bobber bike.
Very clever, Royal Enfield has reused the current 650 bike parts to create a new bike. Saves on manufacturing costs. Nice bike but I'll stick to my Shotgun 650 in a single seat mode....
What're they supposed to do? Create a new engine for every bike??
Will it ever comes in black or stealth black like my classic 350..?If it comes than most of us might upgrade
What about the rear suspension is it stiffer like super meteor. ?
My favourite colour would be the chrome black
Is there center stand?
how about center stand? for chain maintenance
Beautiful but how comfortable is the ride
It is marginally better than the Shotgun 650.
It's a perfect size and weight for UK.. However it's too HEAVY for HECTIC Indian Roads (Even for NH's)
Can we lower the rear fender so that the seat height can be decreased?
Classic 500 single cylinder with a bit more ps and torque would’ve been fantastic.
Ground clearance increased of same as shotgun?
Increased. Now at 154mm
Any word on the Bullet 650? Will that be another 1-2 years wait?
It will be launched next year.
The long awaited chrome black😍, they were waiting to provide it in the best version.
So sleek,so sexy
Hearing an Indian motorcyclist describe riding on UK roads is like hearing old Roman accounts of visits to other cultures, it's so interesting hearing familiar things described in an unfamiliar way. On the bike - to me the Interceptor feels a bit "skinny" and I find the foot position strange - my toes rub the engine casing when I brake or shift. I'm interested to see if the ergonimics of the Bear 650 or Classic 650 work better for me!
Foot pegs on the bear are Himalayan pegs and forward about 1 1/2 inches.Perfect
One 650 engine for every model, Interceptor 650, Continental 650, Bear 650, Classic 650, Super Meteor, Shotgun. Kinda lazy, but effective lol
OMG the weight, thought interceptor was heavy😱
Yes it is heavy at 243kg.
Awesome!!!!!!!!!
congratulations, you now have more versions off the same bike than tenere 700
Hahaha. Platform engineering is the way to go for manufacturers.
Goosebumps.😮
Is it posible to lower the seat height since I'm a 5'5" guy but love bikes?
Stealth black is what I want.
Okay. Baat karte hai RE se.
Now classic 350 owners can upgrade to a worthy option 👏🏻
When it will launch in india
Motoverse 2024.
Any news on Bullet 650?
there should be gun metal one❤
Maybe in the future!
Beautiful looking bike
Yes it is.
Honda: write that down, write that down 👇🏽
Where was this filmed?
Newcastle, UK.
