Tendou's "Farewell my paradise" hits hard. This was his last match of Volleyball ever and on top of that this was the only team that allowed him to play the way he wanted to.. therefore "paradise".
For someone likes Tendou who's weird and hard to deal with (and was potentially bullied when he was younger), the volleyball court may have been the only place where he felt like he was understood and valued for who he is. The only place where being a weirdo and a freak was actually an asset.
@@hieioni3354 ive read the manga, and tbf, it was a WHILE ago, but from what i remember (maybe spoilers, but not really i guess) you never see him again. theres maybe a few callbacks that ive forgotten, but as part of the main plotline, this was his last appearance
Ushijima saying "I'll defeat you next time" says so much because he's a third year so they're obviously not going to play again in high school so it's an acknowledgement of both Hinata and Kageyama's strength that they will be able to reach the next stage and play against Ushijima on the professional level but also a challenge for them to make sure they make it there.

Ushijima is like "next time I'll win" because he has zero doubts that Kageyama and Hinata will become pros like him and face him in the future.....such an incredible moment in an already incredible season Edit: the Tokyo qualifiers (fukorodani, nekoma etc) are in the "land vs air" ova, I think it's 2 episodes
Interesting detail in this episode When it was shown that ushijima was crushing everyone Kageyama was the only one who wasn't being crushed cause he had previously stated that the only thing that scared him the most was Oikawa and the others were being crushed cause they were scared of ushijima

About the National Youth Training Camp, only first and second years are invited to the camp. The reason being that it's a camp to prepare the players for the U19 (under 19) Japan National Team. U19 Volleyball World Championship takes place every two years. Currently, it's December 2012 and the next U19 WC takes place in 2013, in which Ushiwaka is a team member. Remember in S2E1 where Hinata yelled "Japan!" when the first met Ushiwaka on the street? The third years are turning or already 18, so by the next U19 WC in 2015, they would have turned 20 and would not qualify for the team. So no, Oikawa is not invited to the camp.
One of the best matches I've watched and/or read in sports anime/manga. I will always get emotional watching it, especially for Daichi, Suga, and Asahi.

The fact that you cry seeing Karasuno Win and Lose and then get emotional at the others losing as well is just a testament to how great this anime is. Kageyama getting invited to Japan's youth National team as a first year high-schooler is huge and shows how much growth he's had. He's gone from the Lonely Tyrant King that no one wanted to training on the highest level possible.
One really nice thing few ppl get it, some episodes before washijou sensei said something like if the match wasnt good they will had to run back to the school, and when the match is over and he is having the last talk he says for them go to the bus after the cerimony. he is a old grump, so thats his way to compliment even that they lose.

Love your reactions I was the same too, in disbelief how a sports anime can give me roller coaster of emotions despite not even played volleyball even a bit but this show got me so hooked and the other sports anime which is equally good as haikyuu for me is "Diamond no ace" I like that anime a tad bit more cause they have more episodes so more character development & funny as hell too 9.9 for haikyuu and 10 for "diamond no ace" Please check out if you haven't FYI I watched haikyuu before diamond no ace & it was my #1 & it went to #2 after I discovered "Diamond no Ace"

No matter how many times I watched the finale I still get chills in that last rally. Season 3 is a masterpiece.

He's just more capable, Oikawa himself sees both Kageyama and Ushijima as the same kind of entity.
Both kageyama and ushijima is the best in their own respective position. Both ushijima and kageyama are already on top national level when it comes to skills.
