It's amazing how excited you are for FSD. It also blows my mind to think you live in your car, and this is your first v12.5+ drive. I drive 100% with FSD engaged with v12.5.4.1 I can't wait for the v13 feature complete.
FSD 12.5.4.1 is pretty good. It drove me 50 miles x 2 from home to shopping. On the way there, it wasn't consistent with keeping up with traffic on the freeway, sometimes slower when little traffic, but aggressive in heavier traffic, which was unsettling. In the city, it accelerates just a tad too agressive from a stop. On the way back, it drove through every turn and traffic slowdown almost without concern. I wonder if it is self learning in our car as we use it or is it based on a communal cloud. Anyways, it is 1000x better than my 2016 MX in 2020. I think it's close to being usable. A few days ago, however, it did not make a lane change out of the exit only lane to continue, so I had to intervene. So, for me, the big things are: 1. Driving personality inconsistency- it either tries to follow too close aggresively or is too slow/passive. 2. In the city, just a little too aggressive acceleration from a stop (after the 2sec stop). 3. Too many lane changes because the cameras cannot see in front of the car it is following. The FSD sometimes (inconsistently) tries to be aggressive changing lanes back and forth for seemingly no reason (maybe to pass a slow car, but then sometimes doesn't even speed up when cars are passing us). I think the FSD needs to be more traffic aware of the FLOW of traffic and maintain a bubble of safety around it. It should not speed up too much in heavy traffic or at merge locations. It should change lanes earlier when merging ahead or exit ramp ahead- I mean it has GPS to know when it is close like within 500-1000 feet. It gets too panicky and tries to change at the last second. In the city with heavy traffic and going around parked cars and bicyclists and pedestrians, it's more work to watch the FSD than to drive it myself, like watching a baby's first steps- to see it they will fall. Anyways, it drove me almost 100 miles almost without intervention. They should give me FSD for free because I bought my MX with it (and sold it), but I paid for it before. If not, I will just probably get it during the summer months when the kids are off and I can drive around more.
if u have access to the car via the app, try summon mode, it's bananas, also when it get to stop signs and u don't want to fully stop, press the accelerator and it'll bypass. AKA driving with a pedal
@@NicoMurillo yep, specially when switching lanes or when getting into intersections, if i wnat to go in faster without dis-engagement or if it stutters when switching lanes, i give it an accelerator push which confirm the intended action without dis-engagement.
Elon talked about that full stop sign stop, it used to do the california one, until the NHTSA jumped all over him requiring the car to stop, so they simulated newer training video for the neural network to get trained on the full stop. The car doesn't know what's a stop sign, all it knows the traning videos with other car combination the driving is slowing down or stopping

Think about it a little, then put it to word, your growing confidence, your fright, were your toes tingling? how afraid on the wet road? could you feel the road without touching the road? Good video Nick. They only got rid of the steering wheel nag in fsd since version 12.4. The new sysrem uses the cabin canera to monitor your attentiveness. If you look away from the road or close your eyes it will prompt you to pay attention. Just to make that clear.

I have FSD on my 2021 Model Y and it still requires me to have my hands on the wheel. An alert will pop up if you don’t since the activity is being monitored in the cabin via the camera by the rear view mirror. If you get more than 5 strikes it will disable FSD.
That abruptly at that stop sign just as the came into the frame and she moved to cross before the accompanying man. Maybe, FSD saw a movement from the couple that we still have not seen?

I just tried it hours ago coming back home from work, and it turned fast and hit the curb, when i got home i checked my wheels and its fucked, and i dont know if i should still try it tomorrow. it frustates me seeing the scratches on my wheel this evening

The turnabout test shown in the video didn't have lots of cars running, especially from the left side. It would be nice to see a test where there's lots of cars running and see how FSD handles the yielding.

In washington you can also call it a Idaho stop or, recently, a "safety" stop because bicyclists' don't have to stop at stop signs in washington or idaho. A lot of people., probably , call it a california stop, so you just have multiple options when running a stop sign in washington.
If you are confident with the self driving experiment get in the back seat as see how things go ! Bet you won't do that because you are not sure it can drive like an actual person !

I bought my Model Y 3 months and got a free month. I just got another trial yesterday. It has improved a great deal since I last used it 3 months ago
It is way better now than back in March 2024. Smoother, more decisive, but still lacks traffic flow consistency.

Try Assertive Mode you will be surprised. Couple that with your foot on the accelerator it becomes a quite agile semiautonomous vehicle
Going 40 mph in a 20 mph school zone is a problem. This makes me nervous.
Not really. It will go slower when the street is tight and the visibility is bad. Having streets not fit to their speed limit is a problem though.

FSD 12.5.4.1 does not detect Traffic Cones? my car was not detected but Autosteer (Beta) mode detected fine.
