Grande voce ottima interpretazione...a British singer gives the best Performance to a great Roman poem. Landi was a Roman composor, but this voice is the best interpretor I have been hearing so far.
Molto bella!
I've been following this singer for a while, and it's official: I'm a total fan of Mr. Lyon. This has become my favorite recording of this amazing tune. Bravo a tutti, Ed and Theatre of the Ayre., bravo!

Could we please have a list of the rest of the performers? It's a small enough list that you could edit the description to add them without it looking over the top. Reiko Ichise, for one.
@@DelphianRecordsAh, thank you so much for taking my suggestion! They are wonderful musicians and I'm glad to learn the names of the ones I didn't already know. This is my favorite version of this song both for the variety of instrumentation and for showing how much energy the music can have even though the words are so deeply sad!
Made a search on your site, typing "Stefano Landi", and the answer was "sorry, no results". :-( [BTW, when there is none something, I wouldn't write an "s"]
Unfortunately he is not italian and I can only heard a beautiful song, but there is something missed, I cannot feel the right emotion link to the words . The prononciation is really good and Ed Lyon is a so beautiful man
You don't need an Italian to sing this song. Otherwise you need German singers to sing German, French to sing French etc ... The interpretation here is very good
Pity about the need for constant reading and the occasional lapses in pronuntiation. It may not affect the average listener, but it affected me. Morever, I can't believe that the singer meant what he sang if his eyes had to be glued to the page. Not a patch on Marco Beasley.
Thank you for watching. As a small independent classical Label, it would mean the world to us if you considered subscribing to our channel 🥰

There must be a god for music like this to exist.
For a significant part of my life, I couldn't conceive God existence, but thru Bach's music and his words about God, there was always a breech...

Thank you, Paul for your lovely words! We had a blast making this
Oh come t'inganni
Se pensi che gl'anni
Non hann' da finire,
Bisogna morire
È un sogno la vita
Che par sì gradita,
E breve gioire,
Bisogna morire
Non val medicina,
Non giova la China,
Non si può guarire,
Bisogna morire
Non vaglion sberate,
Minarie, bravate
Che caglia l'ardire,
Bisogna morire
Dottrina che giova,
Parola non trova
Che plachi l'ardire,
Bisogna morire
Bisogna morire
Bisogna morire
Non si trova modo
Di scoglier 'sto nodo,
Non val il fuggire,
Bisogna morire
Commun'è statuto,
Non vale l'astuto
'Sto colpo schermire,
Bisogna morire
Bisogna morire
Bisogna morire
La morte crudele
A tutti è infedele,
Ogn'uno svergogna,
Morire bisogna
È pur ò pazzia
O gran frenesia,
Par dirsi menzogna,
Morire bisogna
Morire bisogna
Morire bisogna
Si more cantando,
Si more sonando
La Cetra, o Sampogna,
Morire bisogna
Si muore danzando,
Bevendo, mangiando
Con quella carogna
Morire bisogna
Morire bisogna
Morire bisogna
I Giovani, i putti
E gl'Huomini tutti
S'hann'a incenerire,
Bisogna morire.
I sani, gl'infermi,
I bravi, gl'inermi
Tutt'hann'a finire,
Bisogna morire
E quando che meno
Ti pensi, nel seno
Ti vien a finire,
Bisogna morire
Se tu non vi pensi
Hai persi li sensi,
Sei morto e puoi dire:
Bisogna morire
Bisogna morire
Bisogna morire
Bisogna morire
Bisogna morire
Bisogna morire
Bisogna morire
Grazie per il testo.
So touching, my soul bless all of the musicians of the world.
SUPERBA INTERPRETAZIONE..
I've had the album since it came out. Ed Lyon has charisma and a lovely voice.
heard it on Radio 3 on Saturday. mesmerising.
Glad you like! Plenty more where that came from on the whole album, too :)
Che meraviglia!
Beautiful!
What the hell! I thought this guy was Italian until I've read his name O_O His pronunciation is spot on!
Wonderful, bravo
Bravo.
Very very good stuff! Great musicians, Great Recording and Great video!
Great!
This shit rocks hard, I've been bouncing around to it so much, that I've bent my ruffle!
Lindíssimo
This is from heaven!
Ottimo. 👍

Thanks for the feedback - this is now fixed on delphianrecords.com :)
I found this song by entering "bisogna morire"
If we all must die, at least let us die drinking, laughing and dancing!
...because no medicine can save us!
Pronuncia perfetta, sembra italiano.
Unfortunately he is not italian and I can only heard a beautiful song, but there is something missed, I cannot feel the right emotion link to the words . The prononciation is really good and Ed Lyon is a so beautiful man
you can find translations of it online. Its a song about death

Marco Beasley
@@erebepalatine3061 Sometimes you do...
Come on, his pronunciation is more than excellent, nearly perfect I'd say, so one is not the least distracted by it while enjoying the song...

good, but still, second best to Marco beasley
Lovely performance, but it is not believed Landi composed it.

Marco Beasley interpretation is way better.
