Except she read out loud that they don't whistle back when they are too close and she immeiatly forgot about it. And that was important to remember. So not that great..
One of the amazing things about Gab is that she makes all the small accommodations that I would make for myself, like the sway, or the watching the ladder when going up and down because it makes her feel off. Sometimes I have to close my eyes for that stuff or it could set off a migraine, but Gab turns the POV because it makes her sick, which helps me too! She’s the ideal watch for migraine sufferers! Plus she usually reads everything so if I need to I can have my eyes shut and still know what’s going on!
Gab has allowed me to watch and experience SO MANY games because she turns off head bob/ocean sway and lowers the mouse sensitivity. I for a long time didn't think I could watch/play most first person games because they made me nauseous but in reality turning off things like head bob and decreasing the mouse sensitivity is all it takes! And cause she does it for herself it means I have an easier time watching her over some other youtubers/streamers.
Wait that's what triggered my migraine last night? I didn't realize that was a trigger! I watched Fooster play this last night and had the worst migraine later. Thanks for commenting on this I'll make sure and watch out for this.

Fast-roping is something I'm familiar with, and, just the thought of doing it without gloves makes me whimper in pain! That person would have torn all the skin off their palms from that!
Had a dog leash that was rope… it was wrapped around my ankle from him getting underneath me… and my dog took off running- rather than just knocking me down it unraveled so fast around my ankle it peeled the skin off in a ring lol.
She definitely didn’t understand that they don’t whistle if she is too close. Every time she thought she was safe in a room full of them because they didn’t respond my body stayed clenched.
Gah and she missed a fortelling spooky shadow by the fan when she turned her head to look in the tunnel. Shame the game can allow you to do that. Why put spooky things in if you can miss them?
Horror is one of the hardest things to do, in media. People think it's easy, but there's so much that goes into it. From sound, lighting, photography, pacing, everything. To make matters worse, in games a lot of that is controlled by the player. If the game took control away, and snapped you to the scare, it wouldn't be as effective. The best to do it in gaming is with level design, and that is very hard. It's easy to make a big yellow "go here" sign, but to lead the player with props, lighting, sound, it's a whole different thing. Now add good level design, with good horror... it really shows who the good/bad creators really are. For this indie dev to achieve this, I'm impressed. It's not perfect, but they've done a damn good job.

The whistling back is way more creepy than anything... Loving the super spooky vibes. Also, Ghost Ship is a great flick, the opening scene is top tier! It's just a fun movie.
The ghost ship scene when everyone gets cut in half by the rope was pretty memorable, the one other scene that be more messed up to me might be in 13 ghosts when the lawyer gets caught by the lass doors.....Just creepy the way his eyes were still moving around and it looked like he was trying to scream.
I mean to be fair they managed to find a decent melee weapon about 18 minutes in. Also that crow bar is way to straight on the wedge end, it's asking to be used as a sword.
Gab, you should look into a game called "Voices of the Void", it's probably not something that would be great for video content, cause it's kinda slow, but I think it would be right up your alley given your love of stuff like Observation duty and puzzle games, and would make for some fun in your free time. You play as a researcher at an antenna farm studying deep space transmissions, and with each new transmission you pick up and study, random spooky (and sometimes beautiful) events begin to crop up throughout the area for you to discover.
The whistling is a creepy mechanic, and I wonder what the devs based it on. Old sailing superstitions say that whistling would challenge the wind, and might encourage a storm, so sailors wouldn't whistle while at sea. (although some might do it on purpose with hopes to summon wind, if needed to fill the sails) The British Royal Navy used whistle type noises to communicate, and it would have been unwise to add any sounds that could be confused with actual commands. Modern day, and not part of the RN, it would simply be smart not to do something that would wake up those who aren't on your shift. This last one is pretty spooky, given the context. They can whistle with reckless abandon simply because everyone onboard is "on" the same shift...because they are all barnacle monsters or dead, now.
I love me a good ghost ship as much as the next person, but Gab missing the spider thing ( 1:13:38 ) made me have to pause and go back to make sure I wasn't seeing things. Pro horror gamer here

Ghost Ship was my first real horror movie as a kid. That first scene was just so memorable to me. I can't remember much else, but when I see similar scenes/setups in other movies, I always think of Ghost Ship. I also still have it on VHS!
I actually think that the "ghosts" that help you or give you hints are some of the crew members. Others may be "malevolent" because they're confused, sad, or angry but majority are "okay"-ish. Love the game! Added to my favorite horror gam walkthroughs.
Im pretty sure the newspaper was brought on by Doctor Hayes, or whoever the later arrival to the ship was. I think he tried to find his dad, brought the remaining relic out to sea and someone caused.... whatever it is thats happening rofl
That WAS an awesome game! That whistling mechanic was freaky and the jumps scares got me more times than I'd like. Great vid Gab, thanks for showing it!

That's also true of Native Thai, Native Australian, Native Greek, Native British, Native Korean, Native Japanese, Native Chinese, and Native Arabian. Also Innuit, Hawaiian, Māori, and various African cultures. Native cultures all over the world believe whistling at night attracted evil spirits, in several flavors, including but not limited to: witches, birds of calamity, wildfires, Jinns (Genies), Kehua, Warra Wirrin, Menehune (forest dwarves), Tengu (crow demons)... the list goes on, but I've already spent more time looking into it than the topic deserves. I feel like a lot of the puzzles were nods to Silent Hill and Resi which was amazing. This is the vibe I would have wanted out of the ship section at the end of RE7 I think!! So much fun and so spooky. Thanks for the video!!
I cannot continue the video without getting this off my chest.. HOW DID THE SHIP THAT WAS STRANDED AT SEA GET A NEWS PAPER CLIPPING ABOUT HOW IT WAS LOST AT SEA? ps love your videos :)
It's a different ship. At 6:48 there's a note about how Alfred Hayes was lost at sea on a research ship, and it also mentions that this is the most recent in a stack of clippings about similar disappearances. At 28:06 there's a note from one of the sailors that Erin Hayes was taken on board, and at 54:17 there's a note from Erin talking about how his father was lost a year ago. EDIT: One more note at 1:01:48, where Erin mentions that the ship is following the same route that Alfred's ship took.
I think the ghosts of the dead sailors were definitely helping the protagonist escape the ship, so he wouldn't meet the same fate they did - and the one that you see in particular just as the elevator rises is the same individual we see in the video. Something spooky and sad about how everyone on this ship were condemned, but they still linger beyond death. The statues, once crew members, still whistle back and stay in areas they were known to inhabit in life.
I used to spend *A LOT* of time on a boat in a Bay area where I used to live. And though I don’t miss the gaslighting and other negative aspects of that living experience, _I do_ miss the boating part. I also understand that experience (boating, in general) is not necessarily for everyone. 🌊 💚🌊💚
Yay! Before the whistling and the game really begins in earnest, there's so much atmosphere and tension, you jump at every scare! It's great, i wonder if they could give us more quiet sections.
I love the vibes of this game. Spooky mystery set on a ship? Sign me up! I know it's supposed to be, and is occasionally, frightening-but I love the setting and Gab is overall so chill that I'm having a great, relaxing time
The opening scene I'm Ghost Ship remains one of my favourite openings to this day, and I first saw that when I was 9. 13:42 there's a shadow of the mannequin. 15:18 one of my worst fears. Also, the mannequins terrify me to where my heart rate was high just watching this 😭 If I were ever in this situation, I'd rather be adrift at sea on a life boat praying the boat doesn't go under than whistling back to an unknown enemy.
reminds me of the og outlast in a good way!!! creeping around npcs just in case they jump at you, big lumbering enemy tossing you across floors, losing your light source on a lower level
I love this type of horror and nautical mysteries in general. Does anynone know books with this kind of vibe/setting? I would love some recommendations 😊
the opening for ghost ship is iconic but my favorite part is the 60s flashback explanation where they play this 90s/00s dark techno rock(?) song, its so wild I just stared at my screen in shock.
i was so disapointed they didnt try for a second ghost ship, they ended the first perfectly for a next one. also can already hear markipliers yelp of fright at the mannequin.
If I found myself on this ship, I'd be off this ship. I cant swim but i don't care, I'd be straight overboard and IN THE WATER! I'd rather sleep with the fishes than do all of whatever all this is!
The way she just walked past that body in the locker like a blind bat is too hilarious Also I remember mark playing this way back so when I saw it was this game I knew it was gonna be a good time

*swaying side to side* I feel so immersed!
10:45 I cannot believe gab didnt jump from that
The start of the game had massive COD 4 Crew Expendable vibes.
I'm glad someone else got those vibes too
It been 10+ years since I played it, but the intro definitely reminded me of that too.
🌊 💚🌊💚
Instant pirates of the Caribbean vibes from the Davy Jones and flying dutchman movies.
Yay! Before the whistling and the game really begins in earnest, there's so much atmosphere and tension, you jump at every scare! It's great, i wonder if they could give us more quiet sections.
Another great, Gab vid! also wanted to say thanks to you I read "Horrorstor" and it was so much fun!!
“THE GYM! He was working out. That’s why he’s so strong.” 😂
Ghost ship is prime camp horror. Good times with good friends watching it.
Thank you for turning the sway intensity down, Gab😄...The first sway was enough to make me feel sick too😵💫
I love the vibes of this game.
Also, the mannequins terrify me to where my heart rate was high just watching this 😭
If I were ever in this situation, I'd rather be adrift at sea on a life boat praying the boat doesn't go under than whistling back to an unknown enemy.
I liked the movie Ghost Ship. It kind of was along the lines as The Thirteen Ghost.
My new definition of a cozy night is curling up in my chair with a glass of wine and watching gab 😊
What's your fave wine?
@@ninipanini11 I usually just go with a nice pink rosé 😊
reminds me of the og outlast in a good way!!! creeping around npcs just in case they jump at you, big lumbering enemy tossing you across floors, losing your light source on a lower level
34:30 I really shouldn’t be surprised at this point, but Gab pulling out a random John noble impression did make me cackle
I lovee how many different games gab plays, I can watch her forever bc I’ve only been on her channel for the past year or so🫶🏻 and she’d so consistent
I was hoping you’d pick this up! I watched @Fooster’s play through and loved it. Now for yours which will equally be incredible!
I love that you added a flashing lights warning! Thank you so much for that
Another let’s play!!! So many in a row! I do love the shorts in between ❤ but I also love the games that are being played
This game was both spooky and relaxing! It's probably because Gab is so chill 😂
i was so disapointed they didnt try for a second ghost ship, they ended the first perfectly for a next one. also can already hear markipliers yelp of fright at the mannequin.
If I found myself on this ship, I'd be off this ship. I cant swim but i don't care, I'd be straight overboard and IN THE WATER! I'd rather sleep with the fishes than do all of whatever all this is!
i dont understand how people play horror games bc i would legit just hide the whole time and never finish the game
The way she just walked past that body in the locker like a blind bat is too hilarious
Also I remember mark playing this way back so when I saw it was this game I knew it was gonna be a good time
Do you remember the title of the video? I can’t seem to find it
It was disorienting when the ship is still. I can imagine what it would be like with the motion on.
I'm not afraid to say when I saw that headless spider thing my voice rose to opera singer level
Started watching because it reminded me of Ghost Ship, Gab starts talking about Ghost Ship 😂
i always love watching your videos later in the day when i need to wind down. you have such a great energy!
I sit on my lunch break every day just to watch Gab play video games. It’s really relaxing
Ghost Ship was a decent movie. Not one of my favorite horrors but it’s definitely a good watch for random scares.
So I’m a recent subscriber and I love playing games like this, nancy drew, hidden objects, puzzle games. I came across one of Gabs videos and can say, I love Gab! (I was already a fan of Seán, so I knew of her, but never thought to watch her videos) Can say, I’ve been binge watching all of her videos this past month and am obsessed! ❤️❤️ All the love!
I love how Gab didn't even notice the locker opening in the beginning 😆
Reminds me of the game Monster or what it was called...a monster looking syrenhead chasing you around the ship and you can either repair a boat or a helicopter to escape
0:06 4 years ago this is was a demo.
18:35 29:33 38:03 39:35
41:36 my thought there was "the one on the left is very "sus"
42:00 NO
1:13:37 DID YOU SEE IT???
1:23:03
2:08:40 another S.H. THE ROOM
I have 2-3 other games horror that got released this month and I need to watch
1:06:23 the crack on the wall remind me doctor who
This game was so good and so creepy! I jumped at plenty of the jumpscares. At the very end I was so scared the big guy was gonna chase you down. And thank you Gab for turning off the ocean motion! I would've gotten motion sick within minutes if it'd been on.
I watched a movie called Virus once and it was really similar to Ghost ship. I assumed that’s were they must have gotten their inspiration from.
Solid call back to a great B film. Triangle was great.
As someone who played way too much MGS2, I cannot process how Gab just casually walk round on a tanker
The wheel puzzle is straight from Shivers. Love that old game...
Looking at this made me realize that you'd probably love "Return of the Obra Dinn". The puzzles, the theories, the creepy story.
I feel like you'd be incredible at solving the story
I love that! "The waves make me sick, make your own waves!"
I love your content because even playing horror games you make it feel cosy ☺
I want to see Sean do this game. Gab is mostly calm. Sean would be screaming and jumping and like 'nope!'
I love Ghost Ship. I liked the horror scenes of what happened on the boat, reminded me of what happened to the unfortunate crew in Event Horizon.
i know i missed the live but u was in for a time of your life so many jump scares and this looks so good ty for playing it gab
Just watching this makes me SO TENSE! I remember watching someone else play this a long time ago but I dont remember anything except the whistling. This is so scary
