      Just follow the instruction sheet you get with the Boyer ignition, you cant really go wrong with those.

      @@OldBiker ah alright, thanks! So to set the timing i only have to properly do the valves and make sure the camshaft aligns with the crankshaft right?

      Next Sunday if I remember I will try to do a step by step guide on the points, I have a top end I can set up on the bench to play with so should be easy enough to do..

      I just got done installing my xs charge pma and my new boyer bransden ignition. I need too set up my tdc on my pma so I can adjust my timing. What's the best and easiest way. Top dead center tool that fit in the spark plug are useful but I have no idea what type I need.

    • @OldBiker
      @OldBiker  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hommystattoo5094 The tool that screws into the spark plug hole to find TDC is not very effective, due to the angle of the plug hole the slider in the tool just gets stuck when the piston comes up and hits it, now to quickly find TDC look at the camshaft ends, one has a pin at the points end and at the other end has a keyway, when they face directly up, you are at TDC, to fine tune it, put a pencil or the like in the plug hole and sway the crank back and forth a couple of inches each way until you find the sweet spot in the middle where the pencil does not move. That's how I done my one. If you want to try the TDC tool, it's a 14mm threaded size one you want.
