Really enjoyed the video. I saved it so I can take some pointers on my build. You have given me a lot of tips and tricks. Thanks for the video. Let's see the rest of the collection and a shop tour.
Not much left of a collection anymore besides the Ram 50; 57 Plymouth, 37 Dodge Truck and Cadillac powered El Camino. I did a video of a lot of my cars over the years though. th-cam.com/video/ujLQ5byghSM/w-d-xo.html
I love it. I have a 89 dodge ram 50 I got new. It's on it's second motor now but wish I could find someone to put a v8 in mine one soon because the motorin it won'tlast much longer. Thanks for sharing you did a awesome job
I have a 1985 ram 50 custom 2.0l motor is ripped out can I do something similar to this truck and what would be my cost in parts ? Your build is amazing 👏 by the way I'm extremely impressed and now inspired to do that to mine. Please help.
I would rate the difficulty of this swap about a 6 out of 10, mostly due to the welding and fabricating required. If you have a welder and know how to use it and access to some scrap metal it's not too bad......if you have to farm out the welding add $$$$$. As far as cost of parts that going to be a "it depends answer". If you can locate a good running used engine and overdrive transmission (think donor car) the price might not be too bad but that depends on what you come across and in a lot of cases it depends on the area you're in. Other options are buying a core and rebuilding it or a crate motor, it all depends on how much you can do yourself and how much you farm out. If I were still running my shop, labor for this this swap would have been around $7000 plus parts. That does not include the interior which would be farmed out. Good luck what ever direction you decide to go.
It's from Peragon. They don't list one for a Ram 50, as I recall it's actually for a Ford Ranger, the dimensions for the 2 beds are close enough that with a little tweaking it fits just right. A little pricey but but for me it was worth it. Folds out of the way to haul stuff and I don't have to worry about the spare tire, tool box (or luggage on a trip).
, That's crazy Love the sound of the muffler what are you talking about Don't need to worry about passing smog so who gives a damn This is the best PowerPoint presentation Period ,,,
I have a 1990 d50 and I'm going to try to put a 350 with a 350turbo trans in it my truck is an automatic. Any advice would be nice before it tear into ir
