This is reminiscent of the rondori practice in aikido, though very much choreographed. As a practitioner of both aikido and iaido it was a lot of fun to watch. Thanks.
From the sound, I would guess that they are using mogitou which are unsharpened aluminium zinc alloy and used for iaido practice. Also, it's illegal to carry shinken (sharpened steel katana) in public in Japan.

Interesting how the ronin have a daisho, as presumably when a samurai becomes a ronin they just ditch the wakizashi and keep the katana.
