Indeed! He wrote it to mock the artists of the time acting like they were super hardcore blues artists. Song still hits though. It's a bad ass track regardless of it's intention.
The astonishing thing, to me, is that, although she is a vocalist, she has a remarkable understanding and command of the ways that different instruments trace lines within a chord pattern. In the same way that it's hard to find a pianist who actually keeps solid tempo, it's hard for a singer to get the way instruments follow a chord progression. This. Is the greatest. Singer. Of my lifetime.

I was impressed that Gunhild Carling could play so many instruments, but she does need to have the instruments in order to play them. Apparently Haley can do it without even having the instruments.
Haley is great and the performance only seems to work when she's singing. Her linear improv is really good! The other two aren't laying back nearly enough. The piano is overplaying. Lay back. Slow down. Take your time. And Haley rocks.
