Thank you all for watching! I've made a short list of pro's & cons and answered some FAQ's I've seen floating around below. The video ran A LOT longer then what I thought it would, I was aiming for the 10 minute mark and when I was done my first draft - it was 40 minutes long LOL.
Pros:
-Very Kind & Sweet Player Base. (Avoid Channel 1)
-Tons of content to do.
-Combat feels smooth once you get a few skills under your belt.
-You can swap weapons on the fly so you aren't tied to one class.
-Plently of events and updates.
-New classes being made.
-Fun side activites to do. (Writing music, fishing, Airship sailing.)
-Community ran market. (Auction House)
Cons:
-Tutorial is long.
-Gameplay is outdated so sometimes it feels wonky.
-Endgame grind is intended to take months and months to achieve.
-Drop rates are horrible.
-Community ran market.
-No pity system for gacha. (Sometimes they add one.)
Q: Is the game dead?
A: Nope! The player count has actually been increasing. Even some VTubers have been playing it such as Nanners.
Q: Where can I download this game?
A: Steam or on the Mabinogi website.
Q: Is this a mobile game?
A: Currently it's only PC.
Q: When is the Unreal Engine update coming out?
A: So far, no solid dates have been announced. I'm expecting 2025 at the earliest.

Omg I’m so glad they’re getting the unreal engine update! I feel like it’ll be like playing a new game full of nostalgia. Honestly needed the makeover eons ago if they weren’t going to come out with Mabinogi 2.

I started this game like more than 13 years ago. I’m not saying that I don’t like other MMOs, but nothing could compare to the level of “be whoever you want” Mabinogi granted me back in the days… it’s so nostalgic and I really hope they can soon bring this new engine on to the table. It’s been so long that when I tried to find my old friends to talk about this news, I realized I have lost contact with most of them. I also remember that they’re going to release a mobile game? It’s been forever lol. Do you know when we can play that by any chance?
If I had to guess the Mobile game got cancelled in favor for the Unreal Project. Nothing confirmed but its been so long 😂
I played this game around 15 years ago. Back when there was a European server (I think there were two: Macha and Morrighan, I played on Macha). I remember the day the game was released and I was there, I almost became the first person to get a seal at Ciar Dungeon (think that's the name?) but I lost out to another guy that was hitting it at the same time. I miss this game and I am in the same boat, I'm not in touch with anyone at all now whom I played this game with. I remember the community on Macha being something epic. It was the best I'd ever seen on any game and like you say, nothing matches that. Same with the combat style and story system.. it's all unmatched. It's kinda crazy tbh.
When they closed off European, I tried American servers but.. it wasn't the same so I stopped playing. Still never found a game quite like it.
Just started for the first time this week and am so in love with this game!
Still wrapping my head around some of the content, how it works, and my path to progress (finally figured out you can get holy water from part time jobs for blaanids third volume after spending the day trying to farm mats for potion making 😂), but it is so worth it.

I played this game years ago! Back when it was new and not played since but really want to get back into this especially with the beaufiful graphics overhaul you can tell a lot of love has gone into it! Very nice defo time to replay once graphics are updated ❤
I stopped playing right around the ninja game update and had been playing since the launch of the game. I was a F2P player so it really hit hard once I felt like it was Nao or bust. Around generation 9 onwards I felt the game was too hard. Story quests had me doing very hard difficulty without letting me bump down the difficulty. The constant swarms of enemies making AOE a do or die. I tried really hard, going from thunder, fireball, ice spear, to gunner, to fusion bolt and maxing my windmill skill, but it never felt enough. After have 2000+ levels I was still weak.
This game was my most favourite mmorpg ever... My childhood, I hope it returns back anytime sooner, I miss my old friends man!! I've been playing this game since 2010 on the SEA server, now I hope it returns again! ANIMEWORLD GUILD! WE SOON WILL SEE EACH Other AGAIN!
I played this game starting with Gen 2 and stuck with it through Gen 19, becoming fairly well-known in the US servers (Ruairi pre-merge) and actually serving as a volunteer moderator on the official forums for a while. In a way I miss it; on the other it was going in directions I didn't much like. Not so much in terms of story -- although I admit to some frustration over cliches in the Alban Knights introduction that really shouldn't have had anything to do with Milletians.
Just thinking about the combat, I much preferred it in the old days where most of the time you had to infer what an enemy was going to do from their body language. There was a skill you could train that would tell you their intent as is always the case now. I can't remember what it was called, but once you learned the body language you didn't need it anyway. But this was part of getting good at combat, not just mechanical rock-paper-scissors.
It would be hard to come back. I was never someone who could spend endless hours grinding away, and my main strength in the game was persistence. I'd now be way behind. Hell, I don't even remember what my total levels were, if my character even still exists after the server mergers.

LOL I started playing this game like 10 years ago years ago. Loved it. Tho it use to be way harder of a grind than it is now. My racoon cub outfit is useless now. Reason i stopped playing is again after just recently restarting it is the lag still. Textures take forever to load in even tho i have a 6950xt and a 7800X3d processor and a gig fi optic internet. It also still rubber bands me during fights that is shit too.
I also used to play this but I'd say shit maybe 20+ years ago. I was hoping it would get an update bc it was starting to be so outdated. Now here I am age 36 and I'm wondering how I can play the new version

I have spent a long time away from Mabi, but started playing again less than a year ago. It was my first MMO, and it has always held a soft spot in my gamer heart. I was glad to return and also glad to introduce my girlfriend to it! SO EXCITED FOR THE UNREAL UPDATE!!!!

i always wanted to play this game but for years on end for some weird reason it was "not avaiable in your region" (the global ver) even though maple was always avaiable from its launch XDD, im super hyped for the unreal update, from the exmaple it looks like that character didnt loose her essence (usully in some game they do)
Im definitely going to have to try this again now that i hear its getting revitalized. Mabinogi is one of those truly unique mmos you dont find at all. Im a little bummed its getting so much of an overhall, the graphics were very charming to look at, but if this brings the game up from 'niche' to competing with big name mmos or something im all for it. I doubt it will, but there is a sliver of hope to be gained there. Im surprised, I thought them condensing every server into one was the final death rattle for the game, which was disappointing. Well, that and the economy going to complete shit.

9:38 to 11:24 Super cool my character made into the video, wasn't expecting that 🤣 I really hope they bring the Doki Doki Island Event back. We have not had that event for about 2 years now. Feels way longer than that though. Try out Mabinogi! Unreal is the future!

I'm been playing this game for 4 month now got to say 8/10 for story to generous, for mainstory feel like maybe 5 or 6,there few times cause of story made me almost quit and this with the cuts they made, almost quit only thing save me not quiting cause one word guild, ill give example one worst parts of mainstory is whole gen10 with cuts.
That is completely fair! I think I can agree with you for the most part, the only reason the story gets a rating is because of the sick skills you get from it :P

This is a game I've been curious about for years, and I'm gonna finally bite the bullet and try it. I've been longing for an older style anime MMO and tbh I get burnt out easily with Elsword and Maplestory(RIP Maple Story 2 that game was so cute) so maybe this will be different. FF14 used to be my game, but I've lost interest in the past few years. Here's to an honest shot, maybe I can make some friends.

please do mind there is no level cap some events are sadly 1 time only if unique pets in store get them pets have a timer that resets you do get some in tutorial they have no bags or slots my best point is the costom music you can make

I’ve been thinking of getting into this game. I discovered it through the G1 boss them in CD 3 I think it was track 25. I haven’t even seen the game besides some gameplay of that said boss from like 14 years ago so I have 0 clue how far it’s come or how different it is but I was curious. I know it’s an MMORPG but I was wondering how much of the story is locked to solo or not. I wanted to bring a friend who has never heard of it or played it. (Just like me pretty much) but idk if multiplayer is just there for multiplayer or if it can actually be integrated for both of us. Sorry if it’s a dumb question as it’s an MMORPG but idk if it’s gonna feel like wow multiplayer with multiple solo instances during bigger quest lines or if it will allow me to be there with a friend, and I’m stopping at about 2 minutes in the video as I don’t want to spoil literally anything for myself haha.
Most of the story is done solo however there are some missions you can have friends tag along for! I think regardless you should definitely look into the game as there is tons of content that friends can do together!

I was a nutjob when it came to wow and final fantasy awhile back and well, I haven't played those games in years so maybe it's time for a new fresh experience. @@The_RealH3R0 Sorry for the late response. Sounds really fun. My friend is no longer interested in starting it now so I'll just be going in alone lol. I just got my Original Soundtrack CD delivered. So I have to play the game now.(I discovered this game through a rhythm game and I loved the soundtrack so I spend like $200 just to get the original 4CDs haha.)

yea i have real question how did youtube confuse this with deepwoken (roblox game) like that why you see people in comments talk about deepwoken whenever you mention this game because you upload video youtube will put something under desc that talk about what game they playing and it show being mabinogi instead of roblox which yea that why you see people in comments section talk about deepwoken

Ngl I only quit this game because Genshin and other MHY gacha games satiated my need for seeing "number go up"; especially since I hit the lv40k total lv mark and their changes in the last couple of years hit all of the mid game content I enjoyed (Black Dragon specifically) essentially deleting the main content in the game I engaged in beyond just dressing up my character.
I'll prob give it another twirl for funsies when UR comes out tho.

I believe you can play the global version. I heard using a VPN helps ping but unsure!

I would hope so! Hopefully we get more graphic settings because I know some people are using lower end pc's / laptops to play Mabinogi.
@The_RealH3R0 i just remembered for years and years of playing; i could never enable AA but the korean version could I was sooo sad then. but idk if they ever fixed that lol they probably did. I stopped soon after tailltean was added. but may get back into it

With how many similarities this has with runescape, its weird how runescape tubers act like their game is the only game that mechanically works this way.
Honestly a lot of it sounds the same tbh, even the economy! My friend has been playing runescape for the last decade or so and anytime we talk about either game it sounds almost 1:1
lol hear about any nexon games if you have more then 9 friends on your friends list your loot and drop rate is lowered also the stronger your friends are it lowers your drop rate and sucess rate also

somehwere near the mid of the video it even shows nexon having a pattent for having the program that punishes any little thing you do like more rare gear you have on well they will lower your rare loot chance. ya they give it out to other companies to use this program also.
