CK2 is actually enough to get the worst border gore you've ever seen. Even worse than the time I played Burgundy and destroyed France.

They're actually making it in the next CK2 expansion that there's a game rule where exclaves more than 1 county away (unless connected by sea) are given independence on ruler death. This should fix some of the horror in CK2.

The HRE is considered one counry in CK2, and the change doesn't apply to the inside of realms. So internal HRE bordergore remains. If you start at dates where the HRE doesn't exist this obviously won't be as bad in EU4 since only powerful vassals convert into vassals in EU4 whereas the entire HRE converts as individual countries. It'll be a bit of a mess in EU4, but the EU4-Vicky 2 converter had a decision for the Holy Roman Emperor to form the Empire, which reduces the border gore massively.

You mean the Frankish Empire? That usually collapses in on itself regardless. But yeah this rule about exclaves applies to every country. So if the Franks inherit an exclave in the Rus or something, they'll lose it in a generation.

Actually, even though Arizona is a desert, it has coal and copper in it, so, it's still worth having. Especially with America's immigration bonuses, it should be a pretty good state to control by the late game.

Arizona actually has a surprising amount of forests. 33% of the state's area is forest, 25% grassland 42% desert according to wikipedia.
