Simon is such a gentleman and has a wealth of knowledge as well. His crowning glory besides all that, is the kindness he shows to Yanis as he teaches. I hope you're healing up after your tumble Simon. You are all cracking on to get Billy's grandparents home looking fantastic! You folks certainly know how to Crack On!!!
You're not on your own with this one 🙂 I just love the fact that there are four generations of the one family on the same channel. It's just blissful! x x x
You are by no means the only one. Hi is older than I am, and while I could still do the painting of walls, I know it would take me longer than it takes him. My own Grandfather was like Billy’s, working away on the house and yard when my friend’s Grandparents were sitting watching TV. Living on a farm keeps you going it seems.🖤🇨🇦
I just wanted to say how wonderful it is to see a group of people just willing to pitch in and help each other. The videos on this channel are my daily dose of comfort and a fine example ofwhat our world could be if we just care about others outside of ourselves. Simon reminds me so much of my dad, a wealth of knowledge and such a patient teacher. Yanis always gives me a giggle. You are an amazing group of family and friends. All my love to you all. ❤❤❤
Considering how long the convent restoration is going to take, Simon teaching Yannis how to help with all the tasks big & small is going to be a big time saver in the future. Simon kindness & competence teach us all too.
Simon does pretty well with quantity as well as quality, he just goes at a steady pace until it’s done. The man is an artist…sore hip from his fall and all.🖤🇨🇦
@@Tracy_R No worries, I did get your meaning…I just recall being blown away by how quickly he finished that huge plastering job on the kitchen. I could watch him work for hours, he makes it look so easy and graceful.🖤🇨🇦
Yanis is the son we all wish we had. Excellent work ethic, tender with children and animals, and a gentleman in all senses of the word! I smile with pride as though I’m his mum watching him…bunch of great lads on this channel ❤
Simon professionals make it look easy & straightforward, then there’s the rest of us, your ability to explain to us is gold. Along with patience & excellent tools, doesn’t go unnoticed.
My hubby and I put down bamboo planking. He laid and I cut. He did a professional job around the fireplace hearth. An angle edge trim. I was so proud of that.
The new bedroom floor is looking absolutely amazing! Well done! I am sure Billy's grandparents are going to be quite pleased. Looking forward to the skirting board being installed tomorrow.
"Leave a gap at the end of your flooring for expansion" Dang!! At least now I know why I have those silly bubbles between planks! Also: Love seeing these transformations, and more metal detecting, please!
I have grown up being told lots of Fairytale Stories by my Grand-ma and watching you, Popped in my mind the legends of the 'Heinzelmännchen'. They were Cologne's house spirits. They did their work at night when the citizens were sleeping. However, once they were observed doing this, they disappeared forever. You All, Helpers and Billy (most of all), you are so very sweet for your Grand-parents !
Nice to see that the tumble you took Simon has not slowed you down... you are such a great teacher and mentor to Yannis who is coming along in leaps and bounds. You both work so well together. The floor looks great.
I’m sorry that you guys out west are suffering from that polar vortex. It’s colder than usual here in the Toronto area, but nothing like you’re experiencing. And down near Lake Ontario, we have just a little dusting of snow. I hope that your weather improves soon 🤞🍀🇨🇦
I don't know if this is happening to anyone else but I keep being unsubscribed to my favourite channels, I re-subscribe to every single video, today however it won't let me turn the notifications on, it's so annoying when I watch every single video, so please check you are subscribed. I cannot thank you all so much for sharing your days with us and a huge thank you to Alex for the stunning videos and allowing Billy more time to Crack on 😊 Love to you all xxxx
Yes, I am having the same issue also. This is my third one with the last hour I have had to no change on my phone, TV only. it warms my heart to see Yannis learning from Simon. I absolutely love the Petricks.
Great that Yannis is learning so many trades, he will never lack for work if he plays his cards right ! Especially with the Convent and all the Chateau owners !
I have a friend who just came back {America} from there in France. We are talking about going together in the very near future. I get home from work, straight to your channel to catch up on the days events. I'm a faithful subscriber!! Have a great day tomorrow, all of you. ❤
Yanis and Simon working together are the dynamic duo. The knowledge that Yanis is being given is wonderful. Simon, you are an amazing person, sharing all you know. I even learned something about staggering the flooring joins gives it strength. I think we all learn something every time we watch the Pethericks. The floor looks amazing a job well done.
I recall neighbors who had a floor such as this done--at quite a cost--and within 6 months it was buckling. What a drama and with a bit of room to "wiggle" the floor has room to expand. Great tip.
Yanis is such a joy to watch. He is like a sponge soaking up all the knowledge he is being taught. So very happy for Yanis! A BIG thanks to everyone who is extending a helping hand and teaching him.
Everyone starting in the trades needs a Simon. They are becoming a great team. It is a joy to watch inteligent, knowledgeable and kind people working together.
Billy how lovely your helping your Grandad so there is son dad and grandad all working together with Billy’s team Simon and yanis and I’m sure rick soon well done everyone and Alex the music and filming is great Thankyou.💖🙏💫🕊🌟
The conservatory in my new house has interlocking wooden flooring and it was laid it without an expansion gap and during winter the flooring on one side expands and we bounce off it as we walk over it!
I'm loving this Billy 😍🙌❤ Watching you men work 💪 On your grandparents home Is just so kind and beautiful May I Barrow Simon an Yannis From you ❤❤ I could really use there help 😊
WOW that looks terrific. I am sure that Billy's grandparents will be happy that they can move in sooner than they planned. Yanis is a great learner and Simon is a great teacher, what a pair. It is always nice to learn new things in life, who knows, one day you might need that information in the future. Have a great day
Yanis is doing so well with his English. He is such a treasure. I would be proud if he was my grandson. Such a hard worker. I love how kind and knowledgeable Simon is. You are a fantastic craftsman. Love seeing the two of you working together
Excellent episode! Very much enjoyed this! Simon's eye is looking a bit better, hope his side feels better. Thank you all very much for sharing this lovely video! Be well, stay safe all.😊💞👍
Billy, great grandpa, grandpa,Yanis,Simon, and Alex my floor layers. Excellent job on laying the floor. Until tomorrow. Please, take care and stay safe. Love ya . 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺❤️👍🕊🙏🌞🌈🇺🇸🌹😇
Simon, that brings back memories of helping Dad, lay new flooring over the old floor boards, we took up all the Lino, nailed Masonite down than put new Lino down. Nailing the Masonite, you ended up with such headaches. And the rooms were so large, with really high ceilings. Nothing in the house was square. Really enjoyed the video. :)
Billy you are doing such a great service to this modern world that appears to sacrifice quality for cost saving measures. Simon needs to be cloned! Yanis gives us hope for the future, and you should be congratulated for finding such men and showing us how things should be done properly.
Just a quick addition to Simon’s excellent advice. Don’t make the expansion gap more than half of what is covering it. Our daughter’s floor was installed professionally but regularly‘pops’ out from under the threshold and has to be kicked back in 😂
you can use a piece of laminate to mark the length by removing the short spring, then you have the correct distance. end grain is just right. I watch every day, I like to see people working.
The foam under the floating floor, also helps muffle the sound of walking on a board that's over a bare subfloor...especially if there is even a very minor low spot that could sound louder if you step on the flooring and it 'thumps' slightly into a minor hollow. I sold flooring for 25 years. :P

You're not on your own with this one 🙂 I just love the fact that there are four generations of the one family on the same channel. It's just blissful! x x x
That grandpa or Mick?
So sweet, isn’t it?

Simon and Billy's dad have both been great teachers. Billy has some great people in his corner.
Very nice to watch Simon teaching Yanis and how eager Janis is to learn and do, touching!
Considering how long the convent restoration is going to take, Simon teaching Yannis how to help with all the tasks big & small is going to be a big time saver in the future. Simon kindness & competence teach us all too.
I really love how meticulous Simon is. It's quality not quantity and really makes a difference in any job. Applause applause🎉 well done sir's❤
Don’t know how old you are Simon but hope your knees stay healthy!😊
Simon does pretty well with quantity as well as quality, he just goes at a steady pace until it’s done. The man is an artist…sore hip from his fall and all.🖤🇨🇦
@@tamarrajames3590 oh please don't get me wrong. He hustles. He gets it done & done correctly. I admire his work ethic... he's quick.

The floor looks great. 👏👏hope your eye is feeling okay Simon
Your shiner is coming along, Simon.
This is a great diversion from the polar vortex we're experiencing in Manitoba. Enjoying the green winter in France.
It snows in Northern France too😉
❄️love from Calgary

I have basically the same flooring, so please make sure any rugs, rug runners have a non-skid between the two.
Love the light pallet.
What kind of flooring is this?
Real wood? Vinyl? Laminate?
What brand and what's the model name?
I recall neighbors who had a floor such as this done--at quite a cost--and within 6 months it was buckling. What a drama and with a bit of room to "wiggle" the floor has room to expand. Great tip.
The paint color dried a lighter shade and looks great. Nice job laying the floor.
