You are the best and I have seen all your videos. I am not on drugs but I suffer from depression and when I see how they struggle to get up that motivates me to continue, thank you. Although I don't know you, I considered you like a brother. Thank you God bless you.
That statement you said is gold in my world. I'm a man of my word. You certainly are. I live my life the same way. Don't talk unless you can back it up. And you do every day. You rock bro
I've been watching your videos for quite some time now. Whenever i feel low or down in my life, i come back to these videos to remind myself that no matter where you are in life and nomatter how dark it feels like. If you make the walk there's a light at the end of the tunnel. I know it sounds like a cliche but its true. So, who evers reading this right now and feeling the same way. Take a step ahead. 1 day at a time. "All the pleasures in life is in moving towards." - JP And thanks to guys like you. Who show us what exists on the other side. I look upto you brother. Keep doing the good work. God bless🙏
I just subscribed to your channel today and I just got through watching this video of you helping this man out, God bless you for all that you do in helping others that are having to struggle on the streets. I hope he is doing better now since you found him.
Such a blessing, I've been down that road and its a hard road to get off once your on it, just have to make that choice and never look back. I found an amazing southern bell & I'm beyond blessed now to call her my beautiful wife and we have 3 amazing kids. I really enjoy your content and seeing all the individuals you help while asking for nothing in return except them to stay clean & work hard.
May this come to happen. Victor, keep going doing your part on the side of the world that God has put you in. The others are doing their job on the other side of the world! 🙏🙏
You Hello Victor, This is Luis Diaz from PR, a former U.S. soldier. I am reaching out to wish you abundant health, enabling you to continue being a blessing to those who need it. It is my dream and purpose to one day have a similar impact on many lives.
Clean or not if he is honest n a hard worker you should just let him have the job. I was an addict to heroin turned fentanyl for 12 years (just got 2 years clean on March 15 a couple days ago) but I basically always had full-time employment basically, never homeless, never OD’d, no health issues, never caught a criminal record, solid mind the whole time & I must be honest, the motivation to make sure I was never dope sick drove me to consistently be a solid employee. Sometimes addicts need to see their life improve before they want to get clean. Sometimes they need to hit their personal bottom. But I can’t deny I was more motivated as an addict than I am now. Give him the job, no ultimatum.
As someone that thought the same as you. I have hired people that I knew had 'issues' the problem is not knowing if they will show up the next day or week (obviously you were different). I've hired so many people and at first paid them daily ,because I know they need it, then after a bit moved them to weekly pay and then tried to get them on payroll which is every two weeks. It just never worked out. One guy I thought was great, so I had him help paint my house and then he was going to weekly pay (and agreed to it). He took a cab to my house at 3am on a Friday and wanted the pay for the one day owed. My wife was freaking out and it woke up our kids. Luckily I had enough $$ in my wallet to pay him but his pay was probably only $20 more than the cab cost. This was 15 years ago and haven't hired anyone not clean again. Edit to add: He wasn't on opioids, fent, or meth. His issue was with coke/crack.
*As a recovering addict myself (2 and a half years clean now) for ten years to opiates, He wants to truly help this man!! Treatment is so expensive and my parents are still trying to pay off 3 treatment centers for me and I’m 29 with a Degree! Treatment is the number one thing and the first thing that any addict needs to do!! Psychotherapy (DBT and CBT) are wonders and I can’t even get that here in my city or anywhere around here. I had to fly out of Province to Toronto to get help. The only place I got Psychotherapy was Treatment. Every single person uses drugs to cope with trauma and mental illness especially. I never got help with mental illness at all, even when I finally got diagnosed at 21. I got ZERO help for mental illness and I have FIVE mental diagnoses. I would not have stopped drugs unless I went to treatment and that’s what I did. Psychotherapy helps to re-train the brain in the way that you speak (DBT) and think (CBT) while having mental illness/addiction issues. Vic is a great guy who understands as he was an addict for years too. The guy in this video and others would miss work (just like myself) if he doesn’t get treatment first! I missed at least one day of work every two weeks at my last job. Good paying job but then I didn’t get it back after being laid off for the season as it was a big Construction company and our winters are absolutely terrible here in Newfoundland. But because I missed work due to that, I never got it back even though they didn’t know I was on drugs. Every addict needs real mental help! Therefore, Vic is doing the RIGHT thing instead of just giving him the job, which would be wrong. So many people can’t afford treatment and Vic is doing the right thing here.*
It can be very dangerous for you and them. Plus the people they work with. If they come into work messed up and using heavy machinery they can do harm to others or do the job wrong. They could do more harm to the work costing the boss more money!
Wish i could go thru with treatment for my alcoholism its tough even after losing my brother to it .. i just drink more and more ..happy i still have a family and home just wish i could be better 😒
You have to be so done with drinking and want it just as bad. You can do it, now you even have a better reason seeing what your bro went through. It took my dad a long time before he stopped drinking after years and years. He met his new wife and she helped out. 1 day at a time. Good luck to you.
