Thank you, James Taylor! I just uploaded a new video this morning where I sail to where I laid Jack the Salty Dog's ashes and explore the beaches of our favorite cove. Check it out! Fair winds!
G'day from OZ, an old salt myself, owner of a 32 ft Cavalier circa 1975. I subbed to your channel after James from Tritea gave you a shout out on one of his earlier posts. Enjoying your adventures, you seem to be very passionate about sailing, nature and you love your dog Jack, thats good enough for me. Keep on posting and I'll keep watching, Cheers 👍🐶⛵🍺
Cheers, SV Eula! Glad you checked us out and thank you for the kind words. I shared your comment with James and he was glad to hear it. Much more videos to come.
We thoroughly enjoy watching your video circumnavigating Catalina Island on your cool sailboat the Californica. Nicely done... relaxing and very informative. Jack is great!
@@AndymanGuitar101 thank you for the kind word’s. Sorry for the delayed reply, I felt it was right to take a personal hiatus. But, I’m back and just uploaded a new video from a couple weeks back were I sail to Jack and my favorite anchorage where I laid his ashes to rest a couple years back.
Loving your channel! Thanks for all the landmarks and flora/fauna info. Makes me a bit anxious seeing a singlehander with no life jacket or harness off shore... Keep up the good work! Good boy Jack!
I really enjoy the bits of information regarding the wildlife and geography of the island. I’ve lived in SoCal for my entire life (51 years) and I’ve only been to Santa Catalina island only a handful of times. That’s going to hopefully change shortly with the purchase of our 41’ power boat.
You may want to ease the jib sheet a bit, and tighten up the mainsail sheet a little. I had a boat with a self tacking jib and really liked it. I want to visit Catalina Island this summer in my small trailerable cruiser.
I calculated about 1 mile from Airport in the sky to Goat Harbor. The roadway above Goat Harbor leading to the airport is probably quite a bit closer. Looks like it would be a bit rugged and I see no established trail but i'm sure it's been done. I can just see old Doug Bombard treking around there eons ago.

Thank you for taking the time to write this 🙏. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Congratulation on your boat! Hope to see you out at the Island soon. Cheers
I'll be living vicariously through your Catalina trips for awhile. Not sure if I can squeeze another trip in before heading South.
Let us know if you do!

Do you use or recommend a specific cruising guide for the Catalina anchorages? Love the content!
