I just left Panama last Wednesday while on vacation in Costa Rica... got my passport stamped in Panama and yes it is all jungle no BS I hiked in the jungle for 15 minutes and we had to turn back brutal heat and humidity.

A lot of it is impassable, they'd only have to block routes. It'll still be a huge undertaking, but it's much more feasible than US or Mexico borders.
