Then you have never heard of Jacob Deraps. He's prob 30 by now, but has been nailing EVERY VH tune since he was about 18. No offense to Joe S. he's one of my biggest heroes, but they could have done some research, and actually had the guitar parts nailed to a T. Jacob Deraps has his own cover band (for years now), and they sound considerably better than the actual remnants of VH. Just look here on YT.
Sammy still sounds amazing, and he ALWAYS looks like he's having more fun than any human on the planet. Michael Anthony is so underrated as a bassist and back-up vocalist. An all-timer of a musician!

Satch is awesome! EVH was my All Time Favorite but to watch Satch shred VH material was awesome. Anything to hear VH for me. Love it all and Satch is a guy who took this super seriously which I appreciate as well
Smart of them to bring in a keyboardist that can sing too. It really fills everything up. JS is the man. He brings enough to satisfy the EVH fan and adds his own style.
2:43 is my absolute favorite moment of this performance. The perfect crossover of Joe and Ed. What a tour de force performance from all the band, especially Joe.
I am a Joe and VH fan. I saw the second show of this tour and thought Joe played this song "ok". Now that he has been playing this song more, he definitely is playing it better. This performance sounds great. Sammy sounds better as well. Sammy mentioned in a recent interview that he feels like he starts peeking later in the tour.
It's my general rule to never see the first few shows of a tour... not only band members need those warm up shows, but the sound crew n effects crews as well. Final shows, especially in places like vegas are ALWAYS A BLAST!
I was there too. Joe did such a good.good job being faithful to Eddies tone and his chops that it was really a pleasure and immensely fun to listen too. Teary eyed here. I was the bald guy with the rock n roll Hawaiian shirt. 😂
Seeing Mike Anthony on bass playing Van Halen and his vocals....it brings back memories. Satriani nailed the sound of course and Kenny Aronoff kills on drums ....great work boys
The thing about Joe is that he is having a blast paying tribute to Eddie, he is not overdoing it but rather nailing it with the right spirit. Thanks Joe for keeping Eddie's music playing live.
You guys do know that Sammy is 77yrs young right? He sounds freaken amazing like aging backwards! I saw the 5150 tour live 5/16/1986 when they rolled into Greensboro, NC and Hagar damn near sounds the same as back then. Shoutout to all the mid 50yr olds like me that lived through the best of times and still kickin' it!!
Joe is a master and does such a brilliant job, paying homage to Eddie but playing it his own way. I was in Toronto in the summer and it was just a joyous show. Tearful moments for sure. I love Ed and Joe and Sammy was of the charts good. Same with Mike and Jason. Great stuff.
Great sound and great video quality!! And Satch is just the only possible man to play this stuff. Does anybody know if a complete recording of the gig is available? In any case, thanks for sharing this song
Fantastic, no one could fill Eddie's shoes like Joe, I've seen both Van Halen and Satriani at least 4 times each......Sammy knows what he's doing I must say.

Hi Ben.

Great comment…
Unlike other older bands on tour, these guys look happy and healthy.
They ended after Dave left. He is a weird, egotistical maniac, but he is the only singer that band had. The rest is crap imho.
Kenny Aronoff stepped in on this concert, cool, he's another beast
Dude has one hell of a resume. Beast indeed.
He was reading the music playing live that's next level right there.
Check out the Rick Beato Kenny video...pretty cool.
I saw them in LA with Jason Bonham and was blown away how good they all were. Aronoff is a legend too, wow.
