Checking the valves on my gen 1 Yamaha FZ1 (2005). I did it alone with some help from the clymer's manual, Pat's FZ1 page, and calls to friends for encouragement.
Thanks. I don't think it takes guts...just need someone you can call when you get in over your head. For the valve check, I had several. I'll be doing this again soon with likely an addendum video about shimming ;)
FZ09 is likely to be more difficult. I had an 2016 FZ09 (for 7 weeks) before a tree fell on it. I now have an 2001 FZ1. When doing research for the FZ09, I learned that you have to remove the gas tank and air box just to change the spark plugs!!!
Great vid. Thanks for all the effort in making and uploading this video.
Your welcome. It took me months to understand the process and when I did I knew I needed to try to make a video so any body would understand.
Zags a pro tech, I have done many valve adjusts. That was a great job for a you tuber. Impressive. You should find work in the industry.
Step 1: mute sound
Step 2: 0:15
Step 3: Like the video
Nicely done! Thanks.
Hell of a write up. Wish I had the guts to tackle this on my FZ09.
