I have a Vexus 1880, Yamaha 115 SHO with stainless 4 blade 13 1/4" 18 pitch. I have exceptional hole shot but the top speed is 43 mph at 6200 RPM. I tried a 20 pitch 3 blade and the hole shot was pitiful at best. I'd like more speed without losing my hole shot. I'd prefer a four blade but not sure if 20 pitch 4 blade would give me a decent hole shot?
Am changing props. Sought advice and was recommended from going from a 10 3/8 × 14p to a 12 1/4 x 9P. Could you elaborate on the correlation between diameter and pitch? Appreciate a short concise video such as this. Just call me suffering prop confusion in Montana. Great vid
I have a 14p aluminum prop getting 5000 rpm at wot. My engine is rated at 5500rpm.. I want to get a stainless steel prop at get to 5500rpm at wot. What would you recommend?
Is it worth the investment for a 40 horsepower to try to get a couple of extra mps. Where does the stainless steel only make a different on larger Motors
When I starting go slow and after its ok but I tink I need better propeller to start and after that faster I have the bravo 3 28p so please tell me I have 10 people and I du skis and toobs and my go only that fast is 40 per hour its a 2006 year boat
I have a ranger vx1788 150 pro xs. It currently has a 19p 4 prop revolution steel. Is this good enough I’ve hit 40mph haven’t really maxed out but I’m assuming kits close to max mph. I want more speed usually 4-6 of us with normal fishing gear. All led acid battery atm.
Hey guys. Can someone give me some advice. I have a 4.5m aluminum boat. With a 50hp Evinrude on the rear (2 stroke). It's currently got a 15 pitch stainless steel 3 blade. My issue is. The steering is very difficult to turn left and right in the water at anytime even when the Boat is trimmed correctly. The mechanics have inspected everything else and said it's all brand new. (2017 model boat) Example if I turn the boat left it will take quite some time for me to get the boat turned to the other direction using alot of force. I understand it's a cable steering boat but it's abnormal. I've also changed from a 13 inch steering wheel to a 15inch and that has helped. Will dropping the pitch to a 13 4 blade help this issue? Please give me opinions everyone
I have a heavy bay boat and I have a Yamaha 250 2 stroke…I want to make it faster…and suggestions….i have a prop guy that’s letting me try different props
I swapped a solas Amita 10.3 / 12p wot 4500 21 mph for a solas Amita 10.8 x 10p 5350 rpm 23 mph. Trim level on both. Evinrude 25hp 1989 trapper topper 15 stick steer.
It doesn’t have to be permanent. Tachs are cheap. Much cheaper than an outboard, a prop, or even 5 gallons of fuel. I bought one for $15 to tune my push mower & it’s paid for itself.
just gonna add a comment to support the channel. Excellent breakdown and info.
Much appreciated!
Why aren’t there more videos explaining the importance of the diameter of the prop more so than the pitch of the prop?

Buy a bigger motor on a faster boat
I tried 18-20 so far
So you need a tachometer first. Ok
