Just turn light off so that the camera turns its IR iluminator on, start your snarthpone camera app and look through your phone screen looking all the property around. The airport utility doesn't work out of the box, you need to go into your iphone settings, find the airport utility app in there, and activate wifi scan. It's not enabled by default and is useless without it. Also just because something has a QR code doesn't mean it's a camera. There are a ton of smart switches (like wyze smart switches) that use qr codes to activate them on the network. If you're worried about it being a camera you could just put something in front of it to block its field of view. Also some masking tape works wonders in a pinch.
Case in point; my new washing machine has a QR code on it. However, the point they were making in the video is that if a small mains device has a QR code, then it’s a clue that it may be a camera or other transmitting device, so worth checking.

Unplug? There are many devices nowadays that are powered by batteries. Of course they don't last long, but hidden in another bigger device they could be charged too.
A very simple technique I use to avoid this problem is something we call voting with your dollars. That company allows these problems to continue. Don't give them your money.
A lot of those devices plugged into outlets are suppose to be connected to wi-fi because they are remotely operated by the user to eg., turn on/off lights or a lamp, etc. Many of these devices nowadays have this feature it does not mean that there is a camera. Besides, what use is a camera at the low level of an electrical outlet? This video was not very helpful and the 'expert' did not seem all that great TBH. Overall disappointing video WP.

Most smoke detectors are hardwired and have a dedicated breaker. Turn off the breaker and remove it from the wall or ceiling

Carbon monoxide detectors may need to connect to WiFi to report an event, hence the QR code
