    This safe haven is now home to more than 200 monkeys and apes. The dedicated staff never stop in their quest to save animals from being mistreated by owners, ending up in laboratories or being exploited in the entertainment industry.

    Nari is such a sweetheart 💕 she did brilliant for a chimp that's never had any interactions with other chimps for goodness knows how long poor thing. But she nailed it with that interdiction she's a real gem good on her ❤

      It's pretty amazing that she still retained the instincts needed for chimp communication! I was genuinely surprised!

    Poor Tutu has probably struggled his whole life as bad as he had scoliosis. The cysts on his brain were deveststing for his sight, without a doubt. Poor little fella, he tried😥. Thank you, Monkey World for being so caring for Lulu while he was with the park, accommodatng his every need, making life a little easier for him. RIP Tutu, you were a beautiful boy ❣

    I feel so bad for Desmond. I'm assuming that loosing Tutu will be devastating for him. I was crying after learning about his poor condition. To hear that he was loosing his grip & almost falling (thanks to the staff for being there & being so perceptive) broke me heart. Desmond and he were so close. Especially after Desmond lost his mate. Moving the two, Desmond & Tutu, when they did, to get them introduced to Chloe was absolutely perfect timing. I'm not sure how Desmond would have survived alone after loosing two family members.
    I want to add that as of todays' airing, May 5th, 2023, Desmond and Chloe are still together at the park. 💞

    I am just torn about Tutu. I so didn't expect this outcome especially since he was so young but know you made the right decision in relieving his pain and poor quality of life. My condolences. Thank you for giving him the best you could. I am glad that Desmond has Chloe to ease his grief. Seeing the delight the capuchins took in using pungent veggies to treat their fur and skin and keep parasites away was fascinating. Always, bolstered to know that staff recognize the importance of these tried-and-true wildlife habits. My the newborn Laurus and Naree, my heads spinning and you're dong all the work. Thank you.

      Its very painful to lose an animal. especially one so young....but at least they gave him a happy and peaceful end to his life. He wasn't suffering or scared in an abusive home. He was loved by the other two Saki monkeys and the keepers gave him the very best of care. It was the right decision to let him go....he would have been suffering otherwise.

    Naree is a beautiful girl! It's great to see that she still has her chimpanzee culture embedded within her. I can hardly wait for the next video to see how she enjoys the outdoors. She is going to be soooooooo happy at Monkey World! Alison must feel so fulfilled! The emotions that encapsulated her from the first viewing, to all the searching, and finally finding her again, . . . . I can't imagine. A lot of perseverance within that woman! Bravo & extremely admirable. And Jim is right there with her over her shoulder (as well as in her heart, of course) enjoying every moment with her.

    The information about the Capuchins oiling their fur was sooooooo interesting. In the preview from the previous video, I'm sure many were wondering what bug had infested them & how was the staff going to solve or cure it. Even the title & the opening monologue lead you, well it lead 'me' to believe anyway, that there was some sort of skin related issue or bug infestation. I laughed out loud, at myself, when I learned that the fur rubbing frenzy was to protect them from bugs & disease! Who knew!? I found that so interesting to know.
    I absolutely LUV this channel! 💖

      Yeah apparently capuchins are little monkey shamans - like its crazy that they actually have their own cultural knowledge of medicine. It's no wonder they've been "used" by humans so much - they're ridiculously smart.

      I'm not a fan of them killing the monkey with the curvature of the spine. It was at a sanctuary and its not like they were rehabilitating it to release. But, you can make an excuse for anything they say.

    • @venetabritt2771
      @venetabritt2771 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Robert Dawson they did it because it was doing poorly to start, and then took a serious downturn, and the autopsy showed brain tumors. He was in pain and getting worse. I hated that he was euthanized but better thst than dying slowly in great pain. At least, in my opinion. It was putting him out of pain and misery.

    • @ritamccomas9271
      @ritamccomas9271 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@redawson001 🤦‍♀️so you would have preferred Tutu continue to be in pain, possibly go blind in his one eye he had left to see with, maybe have broken bones if he fell because his grip was becoming weak, right? Yes, Monkey World is a sanctuary, but it is not a nursing home for bedridden primates until they pass. Maybe they could have called hospice in to help near the end, which from all indications, Tutu WAS near the end of his life.
      So, just what would you have proposed they do for Tutu since you didn't agree with euthinization? Hmm?

    • @sandrabentley8111
      @sandrabentley8111 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@redawson001 oh I have to disagree. Poor guy was probably in agony. Plus 2 cysts pressing on his brain, which could have grown, so then he would be blind in both eyes. It was a really dangerous situation for him, he could have fallen at any time. Wise decision imo.
