- Based in Dorset in the UK, Monkey World is the largest monkey and ape rescue centre on the planet. For nearly three decades, the team has saved countless primates - across 20 countries - from lives of cruelty, abuse, and neglect.
This safe haven is now home to more than 200 monkeys and apes. The dedicated staff never stop in their quest to save animals from being mistreated by owners, ending up in laboratories or being exploited in the entertainment industry.

Chloe has herself a "cabana boy ." Well done! I know how it is. I was born in April 1960. My husband in September 1962. Last year, he turned 60. I sent a birthday video to his office. David Lee Roth, I'm just a gigolo. The cake read. Happy Birthday Colonel Boy Toy! His men loved it! We've been married longer, have children and one grandchild older than some of these soldiers. Our last duty-station is ending a long and happy U.S. Army Engineer career. We are in Europe. We have a military mobile home ready for the drive home to Arizona. I have family in Birmingham. We will stop by Monkey World while we are visiting.
All rescues are important every single one, but this definitely was an extra special rescue not just for the chimp but for Alison too, and I would also say Jeremy, since he and Jim were such close friends. They worked at a zoo together then Jeremy was with him from the very start of creating and opening monkey world so I would imagine it meant alot to him to be able to be a part of helping and bringing Naree to monkey world after all these years. Congratulations to them all you know Jim is so proud of what they accomplished

I tell you Nari looks more like a lowland gorilla than a Chimp. I am so glad Alison was able to finally rescue her all these years later. At least now she will finally have a real family of her own. I pray she adjust to the life of a chimp without to many issues. I mean she has spent her whole entire life with humans. Im sure its going to be really hard for her.

The Thai authorities confiscated Naree, but they haven't done the same thing for Bua Noi. Bua Noi is a female gorilla who lives alone in a concrete cell in a private zoo, 8 stories up in a high rise shopping center. She's been there since she was three, she's now 33! The Thai government has offered three quarters of a million dollars for her release, and the Aspinall Foundation has offered to provide transportation to anywhere in the world, but the government won't force Bua Noi's release and confiscate her. I know Monkey World doesn't deal with gorillas, but I wish they could lend their expertise and help pressure Thailand to get this poor girl released to a better living condition.

I'm sure that Jim is with you every moment of your life, but on the finding, re-homing and the future life for Naree, he is so proud of you & smiling from ear to ear! I'm sure that he has also spent time with Naree. The work that you 'all' continue to do is absolutely: amazing, priceless, compassionate, . . . . . . . . oh my, I could go on & on with descriptive words, but there's just not enough to express my thought completely. She is at Monkey World...living in a family group and still alive.
I hope soon we see an end to the trade in primates but it still goes on.
Here on YT people steal infant primates from their mothers to create content.
Dressing them in clothing and forcing them into contact with dogs, cats chickens etc.

I'm so happy to see that Nari is being brought to Monkey World. She has not had an easy start to life and I'm Thankful for those like the Staff & Carers at Monkey World who continue to fight for a better life for those like Nari. They're such amazing animals who deserve our respect, and care, not to be abused, and used as entertainment or tourist props! It's atrocious what was done to Nari's mouth, it disgusts me that someone could hurt such a majestic animal!

@@Miss_Mellie_Girl I'm extremely glad to help. When I watched the story of Oshine, as well as Bula Mata & Reike, I had to know how they were doing today, in 2023. I am just too darn impatient. I also think that the series does have an ending that doesn't continue into 2023. That I haven't checked into. But I'm extremely happy to say that as of today, May 5th, 2023, those 3 are still in the Nursery group and doing fantabulously well! I absolutely LUV this series and (without getting into every single detail of every single aspect of the park) am extremely heart warmed to hear about all that they are doing. I guess if a person is any kind of an animal lover, we have an admiration for dedicated people like all of them! It's my daily fix now. It just draws me in!

🥲makes me happy cry. Knowing that Allison has accomplished a goal that Jim and Her sit out together 15 years ago. One thing about the two of them they love ALL monkeys.
I always find it so interesting how with Chimpanzees, they have to sedate them and make sure they're asleep just for the simple act of putting them in a transfer crate, whereas with orangutans, they can convince them to just walk right in with some prior training. Chimpanzees are the closest to us genetically speaking, but sometimes orangutans seem more "human," at least in certain ways.
If there can be any success with adapting Nari to a new world of primates, it will be accomplished by Monkey World or not at all. Their expertise is so critical to the best outcome but I have every confidence they will do this become Alison is so determined to see this victory.
I spent this entire episode with tears in my eyes .

It's a bit like someone who has been in prison 15 years and then being let out into the world. Going to be a difficult transition I think. Hope I'm wrong.

I’m so happy for Allison she get’s to Jim honey we did it she home with us forever!! I hope someone anyone can get Allison and monkey world to put up a PayPal account so that if people “like myself” can donate to help them out if at all possible ❤. Please I’m not saying everyone has to donate,, only if they can and want to only! Monkey world needs more land and more enclosures for all the animals that are being in the illegal pet trade. And anything is a help even if it buys some food, or pay’s for veterinary care just anything and I just love and respect all the work that Allison and everyone at monkey world does.🎉🎉🎉

I just want to cry. That someone knocked her teeth out. How can ANYONE be so cruel to humans or animals? It still continues to baffle me. My heart can’t stand it!
