How to Fix Dryer Knob Not Turning on DSlot

In this video, a malfunctioning dryer control knob is discussed. Solutions are found and cracks in the plastic materials come to light. Hence the name, dslot. Clever huh.

dude thank you so much I was on the verge of a mental breakdown I thought that the actual thing inside my dryer had to be replaced since it wouldn't turn but I just switched the knobs and now it works fine😭 gotta get a new knob tho since mine has a crack tho☠

Yea, I used the tool, but it broke that shaft. So, now I need to replace the whole unit. I used screw, but it worked once :)

Okay, so... This happened to me last year and I ended up getting a new knob that has a thick metal ring on the outside of the housing as well and that did the trick. However, a couple weeks ago my knob started turning around the post again without turning the whole thing so I assumed it was cracked. I could see the crack, but since knobs are so cheap I went back to Amazon to purchase another one... But it's not working. I can't even turn the post with pliers. I tried and tried and tried, eventually got it to turn and pressed start, but it still won't work. I checked my breakers, nothing was tripped... So i'm definitely struggling to figure out what the heck is going on before I have to call someone in. Any ideas? I feel like I need to pull it out and check the vent and all that. -_-

Use a small zip tie

Check ur settings it wont let you turn it if the settings are not all chose

All this video tells you is trade out the bad dial for another dial. And took almost ten minutes to do it.
