I hope you've gotten the answer to your question already, since your comment is about 2 years old. It is a fairly simple process, where you have to source a replacement LED panel compatible to yours, and simply replace it. The basic compatibility check can be done via resolution size of the replacement and the broken led panel, and the number of connector pins (LVDS connector) on the motherboard & LED panel itself. Once you have a compatible led panel, it's just a matter of opening up the TV itself. There are a lot of screws on a TV (the bigger the tv, the more number of screws). I recommend taking pictures as you go through different phases of opening and disconnection of wires further on so that you are able to put it back together using those picture references. Note - Be extra careful with the LVDS connectors as they tear very easily.
Display Panel Replacement comes at the same price as the new TV, if it costs you more than 50% of new TV price it's better to buy a new one sell broken tv to some repair shop if the components are ok they can re use them like Motherboard LED Back Light, Speakers Internal Cables etc

My kid broke my 86 LG today, screen 1500€ IF they even can find one, new 86 inch LG goes from 1600+ here, so with 1600 more i can buy a brand new tv... problem is, my broken one cost 3900 5 years ago and i dont know how the quality will be at the 1600 one... :( dillema
